Went to the Robert Cray concert on October 1, 2023. Amazing building, great view from balcony seats. House pre-show music was very loud. Lead in band to play came on stage, and the sound system was still WAY TOO loud! House sound engineer should have turned it down at least half-way. Not the band but the house sound system, and it was the bass and lower frequencies that shook the house/seating in the balcony. So much so that the guitar and lead singers voice was barely heard. We like good music at elevated levels of sound, but when you can't hear the singer or the guitars...we left the auditorium, as did several others. So we wandered. Came back to the auditorium about 45 minutes later, and could still hear the overwhelming bass and lower frequencies outside. Was able to re-enter, and with our 'decibel level' app on our phone in the balcony we measured up to 103 decibels in the back row of the balcony near the entrance. Fortunately it was the last song of the lead in band. Mr. Cray came on stage, set up, and the back ground music during setup was still WAY TOO loud. We gave it a chance that the band would be at a better level. Mr. Cray and friends began to play but the house volume was just as high as before. This time we could hear Mr. Cray's voice and guitar, and the keyboard, and drums. The music they played was great! But the sound system in the house was WAY TOO LOUD!!! So loud (up to 100 decibels on our app) that our ears could not take it without pain. My wife even had her 'Dubs' in her ears (helps her with too loud of sharp sounds) and we had enough. Had to leave toward the end of the second song. Extremely disappointed!!! Mr. Cray was great!!!, but the Auditorium sound level was unbearable. Ear plugs or ANR headsets quite probably would be no help and would diminish the experience of the music. Sound engineers for the auditorium need to really take a hard look at the sound volume setting for...
Read moreIn October 2023, I was lucky enough to experience Rocky Horror Picture Show at this venue. This was my second time ever getting to experience RHPS with an audience. AMAZING!!! Completely blew my first experience out of the water. The host, she was freaking awesome; her name escaped me, but I do believe she said that is one of the tour guides in ES. She truly made the night an experience. I really hope that this venue allows RHPS again and again, my bestie, and I will certainly be there every year. Thank you for a truly memorable evening!!! The only negative thing about the night, they only have Disani water. Ugh, they should switch it out for Sam's Choice... much...
Read moreThis is one of the coolest historic venues in this area! They are getting some amazing talent and for less than 1000 seats, it’s a fantastic place to hear great music! Make sure to come early to get a good place to park or you might be walking for a bit, but better yet, go early and have dinner in Eureka Springs and then go to the show! Add an overnight stay and you have a perfect mini-vacation! They sell adult beverages in the lobby along with regular drinks. There are plenty of people to help you find your seat and I find the crowds to be lively and fun every time! Always a great evening!...
