The night was clear with a 40% chance of betrayal. I’d just gotten burned by a calzone up the hill, the kind of culinary crime that haunts your stomach and your soul. I needed a lead, a break in the case, something hot, saucy, and willing to testify. That’s when she suggested it. My lady, skin like poetry, hair like your favorite song, and a smile that says, you’ve been here before, but not like this. She said the name like it was a whisper of a secret: Local Flavor. Said she’d been there a few nights before. Said she held off on the chicken parmesan just so we could try it together. That kind of loyalty? You don’t find it in diners or dames these days. We slipped into a table outside on the balcony. Looking over main street and all its glorious sins. The lighting was just right, dim enough to confess things you wouldn’t say in daylight. And that’s when David showed up. David wasn’t just a server, he was a professional. Equal parts charm and competence. Said he loved his job TWICE. Either that’s true, or he’s the prime suspect in the mysterious disappearance of my previous bad mood from the Calzone Incident up the hill. Either way, I trusted him, and I liked him. I can read people. The opener? A Caesar salad, handed across the table from my date like a stolen kiss. I took a bite. Crisp, cool, and bold enough to make me think I’d been underestimating Caesar salads my whole life. Then came the spinach artichoke dip. This wasn’t just a dip, it was a declaration. Thick, gooey, bubbling with danger and dairy. Real spinach. Real artichoke. Real possibility of licking the skillet clean. I held back, mostly out of respect for public decency and my classy date. But I didn’t come here for leaves and dips. I came for justice. Enter the Chicken Parmesan, riding shotgun with angel hair pasta, and whole garlic cloves spread about like goons at a mobster conference. It was delicious! Crispy, tender, and slathered in sauce so good it made me want more. My only critique? And it’s a small one, it’s that the sauce-to-pasta ratio could’ve used a bump. But that’s not a complaint, that’s a negotiation. David would've fixed it with a wink and a ladle faster than a dame could steal your coat in the rain. And then… came the wildcard. A new player entered the game: Meatball and Grits. Yeah, you heard me. GRITS. I hadn’t crossed paths with those since childhood, when my grandma used to drown ‘em in butter and sugar just to make me stop asking questions. I laughed when I saw them on the menu. Then I got curious. Then I got bold. I ordered it. The first bite? Fireworks. Rain. Confessions. The meatballs were hand-rolled love letters in marinara, and the grits… oh, the grits. Creamy, rich, and smoother than shaved legs in a silk dress. One bite of meatball and grits together and I saw my past and future holding hands. I may never eat pasta with a meatball again. Just when I thought it couldn’t get better, David shows up with the final act: Vanilla Bean Crème Brûlée. Torched top, smooth middle, and fresh fruit nestled in the heart of it all. So here’s to Local Flavor. To meatballs and the buttery depths of the southern soul. And to David, the server, the myth, the legend. Local Flavor didn’t just serve great food. It served much...
Read moreThis was a pleasant surprise for our first time in Eureka Springs. During our visit The hours were limited only opening for dinner. We happened to get there at 5:00pm when they open and there was a long line. Apparently they take reservations but when we called to make them and told them we are in line they said not to worry they'd get us in. The wait was reasonable and we chose to sit outside on the patio overlooking the main drag. It was a beautiful day so it was perfect. Ambience: it had an upscale feel. And I don't necessarily mean by decor although it was nice, but by feel. SERVICE: Everyone who interacted with us was friendly, made us feel welcome and professional. FOOD & DRINK: The menu was not expAnsive but what they did offer was very good. They seem to offer something for everyone. Upscale comfort food... If it's a thing. On our visit pork was the star as they had several offerings. Everyone enjoyed their meal. That's not something you can say at every restaurant you visit. The restaurant has a nice bread service but they do charge for it including 'refills'. Our group enjoyed their peach sangria and their beer offerings. Their cocktail menu look good but we weren't in the mood. Visually their cocktails look well made all appealing. This was our first real meal of the day because we were busy hiking. We had one appetizer, entrees, 9 drinks and shared a dessert $160 before tip for 3 people. For us it's about what you would expect for this level of quality etc. PETS: Out on the patio/deck guests had dogs at couple of the tables. I fancy dogs and have a couple myself. I'm a little surprised by this trend in allowing dogs into restaurants however. I love my dogs but not everyone is a pet person so we never bring them to restaurants. We had a funny incident where a couple brought their dog and their pet came to our table and stole our bread basket. We laughed because we're pet owners and we probably shouldn't have been eating bread anyway. But as noted above the restaurant charges for bread service. It was one of those awkward things where we weren't going to say anything to the pet owners or to the restaurant. RECOMMEND: Yes. We would...
Read moreVery cool little resturant. Equally amount of outside seating and indoor. The vibe was very relaxed but very upscale. Casual to comfortable dress attire. We stopped on a tues night late dinner. We where greeted and given our seating preference. Our waiter was very busy so service was catching up. The waiter was outstanding. Very friendly, helpful and checked on us appropriately. He was very good. The resturant was mildly busy. We sat outside on a balcony that over looked the main road thru town. The menu was short but covered a variety of choices with fish beef and pork options. A few salads and several starters. The cocktail list was impressive with several signature cocktails. The wine selection was over the top with the range of choices. We had 2 variations of margaritas and they were very tasty. The quality and craftsmanship was so true with these cocktails. Very fresh with all of the right flavors ... so good we each had 2. We both got cesear salad. Wow! The dressing on the very fresh romain lettuce was fresh and definitely house made. Next was the main course. We both ordered the exact same think. Grilled wild caught salmon with jasmine rice and grilled asparagus. The glaze was a slightly sweet raspberry sauce that was a surprise and perfect compliment to perfectly prepared salmon. The meat flaked apart with a fork but had a crisp outer layer. The jasmine rice with a perfectly aromatic flavor. Topped with grilled asparagus that was tender and fresh. Overall the dish was 100% amazing and prepared so perfect. I think we both licked our plates clean. This place is 5 star plus!! Fresh and quality at it best from the cocktails to the crisp asparagus and salmon perfectly prepared. Thank you...
