Our experience with this bakery could have gone a lot better. My wife and I ordered our wedding cake from here after our first choice bakery went out of business unexpectedly. SAB is close to us, and the reviews are mostly positive. They were very responsive and helpful getting a design for our wedding cake and the process was up-front and professional. But then we got the cake, and that's where the problems came in. My wife picked up the cake the day before the wedding and drove it straight to the vendor, who then placed it in their commercial refrigerator overnight. When my wife picked up the cake, it was fine; when she dropped it off, it was fine. When we walked in to our wedding reception the following evening, we had a leaning tower of wedding cake. An hour later, we had a $400 pile of wedding cake. This of course didn't ruin our wedding. We just didn't "cut" into the cake as tradition calls for, we kind of scraped some up and fed it to one another. I contacted the bakery the week after the wedding with the situation and photos of the cake pile, and the owner contacted me the following morning. He offered to call the venue to find out what happened, and of course they said it was like that when they got it. So now WE are the liars about the cake and physics of how it ended up in a pile on a table at our wedding reception. In all fairness, he did offer us a $75 credit towards another cake. But neither my wife or I are professional party planners, so we really don't need another $400 cake; for $325 with the discount. So have them deliver it for you, or build some kind of contraption in the back of your vehicle with a GoPro camera mounted to film the entire process of you taking possession of the cake and the subsequent travel to it's final destination as video-graphic evidence that the cake isn't damaged while in your custody.

I am often the first person to say I’m not a huge fan of cake, but Sweet Art cakes never fail to blow my mind!! I have no idea how they do it but I could eat Sweet Art cake breakfast lunch and dinner every day of my life and NEVER get sick of it. Not to mention how GORGEOUS every single dessert is!!!!! I used to work with the owner’s kiddos and have gotten to see many a face at birthday parties light up when they see how creative and utterly beautiful her work is - only to take a bite and realize it only gets better from there!! Even if the cakes WEREN’T God’s gift to mankind (which don’t get me wrong, they absolutely are), I would still happily give Sweet Art all of my business just for how lovely all of the people there are. They genuinely deserve the universe and I hope to keep supporting them for as long as they are making desserts. I ADORE my wedding cake. My soon-to-be hubby and I are both obsessed with how our personalities are both meshed into every detail, from each tier being our own preferred flavors to the flowers matching both of our outfits. We picked the color scheme in honor of my partner’s dad who passed away while we were in high school, and we could not be more touched by how perfectly it turned out. If you want the best cake you’ll ever have in your life, I will without hesitation point you in Sweet Art’s direction!! I cannot wait to share this incredible cake with our closest friends and family on our big day ❤️

Subject: 10 Year Vow Renewal & Reception Let me tell you how extremely happy we are with the Service, Product and Communication that we received from the team at Sweet Art Bakery! We realised that the search for a wedding cake vendor can be a challenging thing to do, but the team at Sweet Art Bakery made it a fun experience! Our cake arrived on site at our venue right on time and the team did an amazing job with the set up! Our cake had 3 flavors: Chocolate, Red Velvet and Amaretto and severved 100 people! When our guests tasted it, they ended up coming back for seconds! It was so fresh & moist is what we kept hearing from our guests! We even heard, "I'm not a cake person, but this cake is different and I'm hooked"! This was a huge win for us because as the end of the night, we only had 6 pieces left to take home because it all went! From the bottom of our hearts, we want to give a BIG thank you to the team at Sweet Art Bakery for making our special day a success! Sincerely, Corey & David

The cake was a big hit at the wedding. It looked beautiful and tasted great. After booking we had some communication issues with Sweet Art and were kind of on the fence about using them, but they came through in the end and we are happy we went with them.

We had a McKinney wedding and wanted to use local vendors. I was living overseas at the time so I was only in McKinney for one day. I'm not sure if they do cake tastings or not, but they definitely were not able to do one while I was in town so I was told to buy cupcakes if I'd like to try their flavors. We ended up booking them.

It's a small business and seems like there are only 1 or 2 people there that know about their wedding side. I initially paid the deposit and discussed cake options in person over a year out from the wedding. Then went into the store a month or so before the wedding to make the final payment and finalize the cake choices.

A few weeks before the wedding we emailed asking for cake stand options and to see if we could get photos. They replied back a very nondescript response with no photos and also said that I needed to finalize my cake choices, which as I mentioned, I had done that in person previously. Calling didn't seem to work well so we make a long drive to go in person to actually get the full information. The staff didn't know anything about the stands so we had to wait a bit for the owner to arrive. The stand options weren't really anything we wanted so we ended up supplying our own. It seemed like it was always a big issue to communicate with them about wedding things specifically.

In the end the cake was beautiful and delicious. They worked really well with our florist (The Stalk Market, McKinney). It was touch and go, but we are happy that we went with them and would hire them again if...
