Subject: Final Warning – Ongoing Negligence and Health Hazards at Red Roof Inn Pensacola – I-10 at Davis Highway Dear Rey, Your response to my complaint is not only insufficient — it is completely unacceptable given the severity of the situation I experienced. You offered a generic excuse, the same one you’ve repeatedly given to other guests over months, without any meaningful corrective action. This response reflects a deep-rooted pattern of negligence and disregard for guest well-being. Let me be absolutely clear: this is not an isolated case. Your property has received numerous public complaints describing nearly identical problems — unsanitary conditions, pest infestations, filthy rooms, and total lack of accountability. Just to highlight a few: • Tren Eriksen (3 months ago): “The pillowcases smelled of oily hair.” You said you would “look into it.” Nothing changed. • Des & Drew DLC (3 months ago): “The room itself stunk of mold emanating from the AC and vents.” Same response — that you’d notify the administration. No improvement. • Devon Campbell (1 month ago): “The rooms were so dirty… pet hair in beds, dog food on the floor, pubic hair on toilets.” You responded with another hollow apology. Nothing was done. This is not poor service — this is repeated, deliberate neglect. You are knowingly allowing guests to stay in conditions that are unsanitary, unsafe, and absolutely inexcusable. To support my own claim, I have photographs and videos clearly documenting: • Cockroaches and worms inside the room • Mold-covered walls and air vents • A filthy, stained bedcover • And general visual evidence of the room’s uninhabitable condition These materials are timestamped and ready to be shared with health inspectors, consumer protection agencies, and online platforms, should you continue to ignore the gravity of this matter. Let this serve as your final warning: If I do not see immediate, real, and verifiable corrective actions taken at your property, I will proceed to: • File formal complaints with the Florida Department of Health, the Department of Business and Professional Regulation, and consumer protection bodies • Submit my full report, with supporting images and videos, to TripAdvisor, Yelp, Google Reviews, Booking.com, and other public forums • Seek legal advice regarding exposure to hazardous lodging conditions and breach of consumer rights This situation is no longer about my experience — it’s about your ongoing endangerment of public health and your refusal to uphold even the most basic hospitality standards. This is your last chance to act responsibly

Arrived for a one night stay to a musty smelling room with stains on the bedding. Was getting ready to go to sleep that night and my husband caught a roach crawling on our headboard. We proceeded to find 4 or 5 BABY roaches crawling on the floor. Safe to say this place is infested with them. Obviously decided to stay up all night because I didn’t want roaches crawling on my children. Obviously I wasn’t expecting alot because it’s on the cheaper side but this place is even below par for the price. By far one of the worst quality and dirtiest rooms I’ve ever stayed in. To top it off we had to pay a $100 “deposit” on top of what I paid for the room. I can confidently say that nothing we would have done to this room would have left the room $100 worse for wear considering how they originally presented it to us. Also, tried to call front desk about our issues multiple times and no answer. Not sure if there is someone always there, but there should be as I’m sure there’s always issues. Will never choose red roof again.

Front desk attendant, Deborah, was rude and impersonal. Upon checking into the 1st room I found garbage in multiple drawers, urine all around the toilet, roaches in the tub and room along with smaller insects that hid in the baseboards, spit or snot sprayed on the tv screen and controls, blunt wraps in the toilet, smelled like it had just had weed smoked in it as well as the previous tenants room key still in room. The second room had insects that went scattering as soon as the lights came on, cigarette burns in the blankets, bulbs burnt out and similar cleanliness issues. The front desk attendant did not inquire as to why I was changing rooms at all, said nothing about the condition of the rooms, offered no apologies, and did not even bother to look up from her computer at me. Do not stay here extremely poor management and housekeeping.

Nice & cozy. Rooms are updated, every clean. My family is from NC. We was staying in a 2 bedroom 2 bath 2 story condo somewhere else & apparently without realizing it we must've just lucked up on price for condo because we decided to stay 1 extra night & the only room left was was a single floor 1 bedroom 1 bath a pullout couch. So we decided to look for a hotel instead. Red Roof was the nicest (on inside) than any other hotel I would take my family. No free continental breakfast no pool. A bit disappointed. The location was kinda strange plantation rd circles around we came in from mall entrance the rd was confusing with the curves our first time entering we ended up behind a building so be careful there's no yellow or white lines there's several entrances to behind buildings or warehouses & the road being windy & curvy & being an out of towner just trying to drive straight was confusing especially these other parking lots flat & same color as road with no markings. Was a bit concerned to as I mentioned we came in from mall side on plantation rd & was a bit skeptical with a cop just sitting a little further down across from mall noticed quite a few empty parking lots continued down to what appears to be an apartment complex what looked to be from my home time maybe income based apartments to going around curve bypassing what looked to be newish modern condos with private garages attached to each going around the next curve to passing an old very out dated run down motel at this point I'm thinking what else could be down here with a high fence between the 2 right beside the motel 6 was an extended stay mainstay resort very updated clean liked the architecture as well as the other condos & directly beside no fence in between was a FUNERAL & CREMATORIUM with a HUGE billboard bigger than the mainstay or motel 6! Around next curve (no stop signs) was Quality inn I believe they was in middle of changing to or from but a temporary sign was up seemed clean & nice & RED ROOF was on our right which existed out to waffle house & main road. Wish we would've came in that direction & left the very oddly curvy entrance didn't know what to expect around next corner in the back but can't help how GPS brought us in! Red Roof itself the room newly updated very clean inside. I hope the beds was just as new as everything else looked bc they need some breaking in! But hey maybe you like very firm beds!? Woke with the worst back pain like I slept on floor! The room you would've expected a bit more. Great price helpful staff. Also seemed to be a place the locals stayed when needing a room. Glad to have had teen boys with me had I had teen girls I would've worried. Also had beggers to approach multiple times after I said I had no cash. ( I normally do give if I have cash but I've learned my lesson with cash...

I stayed at the location over the past weekend and it was a terrible experience, the staff is rude and they look at you like you're inconveniencing them when you need assistance. Guess they forgot they're in the HOSPITALITY industry. We checked in Friday evening and Lisa, who was working the front desk was clearly not happy to help people. It's the middle of summer and this hotel is located in a beach town, I don't understand why anyone thought having one front desk attendant was a good idea? Much less someone who was rude. Regardless, we tried to brush it off. We arrived at our room exhausted from driving all day with our dogs and it's 80 degrees inside. Thinking this is just due to no one being in the room we turn the air down and try to settle in. The second we walked in it smelt like mildew I'm assuming coming from the bathroom area. Still, we tried to make the best of it. I pull back the sheets to get into bed and there are old blood stains on my sheets... At this point in furious.. our room was still hot after an hour of letting the AC run and now my sheets are dirty? Being so tired and frustrated the last thing I wanted to do is talk to Lisa the charming front desk attendant about it. So we want to sleep. The room never got below 80 degrees the whole evening. In the morning we went down and spoke with Lisa about out ac and she said maintenance would come by. After about an hour he arrived and switched out our unit and we thought things were going to be better. We left for a few ours and upon returning our room was maybe 75 degrees, which is ridiculous. At this point we agreed, what is the point in telling the hotel again? The maintenance man told is the unit he put in our room was brand new out of the box so if it's not working I'm sure between their customer service and lack of effort they wouldn't do much better a second time. The next morning while checking out we spoke with Lisa about our concerns and told ws we don't feel we should be responsible for the first night due to all of the inconveniences and with the same charm she's had since we arrived she told us that since they " fixed" our ac and we didn't tell them about the sheets they weren't responsible... She also told is the manager doesn't "like" when people wait to complain at checkout. Like I'm supposed to be accommodating him when we are the guest? Ofcourse he wasn't in for me to speak with but I got his info and I will be speaking to him and whimever else in the red roof corporation that will listen. It's completely ridiculous that people spending their harod earned money on vacation have to tolerate attitude and inadequate service because their is no supervision or...

We've been long time guests but NEVER again.||We checked in around 6pm on Friday, may 31 and checked out Sunday, June 2nd.||Upin checked in, the internet was down. The employees couldn't connect to their Hotspot on their personal cells so the credit card Machine wasn't working. I had already paid in full, but they require a $50 deposit refundable on check out.||I offered to pay cash bit the clerk was trying to get the machine to work. I then offered to leave my debit card or they could write it down and run when internet was back up. They finally wrote it down. We placed out belongings in room and left for dinner. While we were eating, the clerk called and said my card was declined. It wasn't. He kept putting in wrong number. I told him when i was done eating, I'd cone straight there. It worked immediately. ||My complaint while staying there was the kids running around and knocking on doors, the teens smoking weed in the halls and on the stairs and the garbage. ||We checked out Sunday morning around 9ish. As always, I straightened up my room, put dirty towels in a pile, made sure garbage was all thrown in baskets and we left.||My refund was no longer showing as pending but as a charge Monday morning so I called. I was told it would be in there by Thursday. Thursday came and no refund and I was told Friday. We'll, Friday came and no refund. So I called. ||The employee told me I lost my refund for smoking in my room in a non smoking hotel. I told him I have never smoked a cigarette in my 52 years ever. I then asked for a manager. I was told to call back at 8 am. They wouldn't answer my calls at 8am so I called feom my husbands phone. They answered. I asked for the manager and was told he was bust and I requested a call back. When he called, he was EXTREMELY rude. His story changed from us smoking to us having a party in our room with streamers and we left a mess in the room and hallway. That is definitely not true. Not only did we not have a party, we never hung out in the hallway and I always straighten my rooms out of respect. He then said it must have been my dog. Another lie. He said he'd look into it and I asked look into what? We didn't have a party or leave a mess. He said there was pink string on the small rug and we must have done that. The only rug is under the bed area. Nothing he said made sense. He has yet to call back and I am now started a fraud charge with my bank. My husband has stayed there for years while working on the plant in Cantonment. Never again. They need to worry about the drug activities and garbage all over the hallways...
