Awful experience. The manager authorized $500 in fees without even speaking to me. I really wish we caught his name. My dog is a service animal. My wife and I like to smoke weed. We dont smoke inside the room. We smoke outside. Cannabis is legal and it does have a distinct aroma. The manager harrassed my wife multiple times by coming to the room and knocking. He told her he was going to open it up, even tho she kindly said "no thank you I dont want service". He threatened to bust in with his master key if she refused to open up. She opened the door to the rudest individual she has ever met. This man accused her of smoking because he claims he smelled somthing in the hall. How many people are in this hotel? We are in Colorado. Weed is legal. I have walked down hallways in colorado hotels many times and caught a wiff of it. Every single day I caught a wiff of it in every hallway of this hotel not just the second floor where we were staying. In this state that is normal. It does not need to be smoked to be smelled. You cannot pin the smell of weed in your hallway on a single person either. Especially in this state. We never once triggered an alarm. We never once smoked in the room. That stuff stinks even if its double bagged and put away in a drawer. My wife has extreme social anxiety. It is documented by her physician. Anxiety attacks come quickly and easily to her especially when she is dealing with a person like this manager. It is very detrimental to her mental health. The manager harrassed her, lied to her, and charged me $500 upon check out without saying a word to me. My wife told me she kindly asked him to leave and that there were no issues and he continued to press her and actually threatened to call the police. I wish she had better social skills and told this mystery man to go ahead and call them. She did NOTHING wrong. She is very delicate and I cannot believe this is the way customers are treated while staying at this establishment. This man put her in a state of panic and she wanted nothing more than for him to just get out of her face. I work long days in construction. My wife told me this when I got back to the room and I called her worried asking where she was. She was having a very hard time explaining the situation to me because she was so distraught. I am absolutely furious with this man. She left the hotel and sat at the park in the heat all day after this happened. She was having an anxiety attack. The hotel has my phone number on file and I never once recieved a phone call or a message. Whoever this manager is. He is a terrible human being. There was one very kind young man that works the desk at nights but other than him the entire staff is rude. Beware of the housekeepers they start knocking as early as 8am. They tell you they only clean every 3rd day but its a lie. Don't leave any cash laying around or you'll realize it's gone once you get back to your cleaned room. Also the breakfast attendant triggered the fire alarm at 6am one morning because he burnt somthing in the kitchen on the 1st floor. Every alarm in every room of the building blaired for 35 minutes until the fire department arrived. When I asked the desk attendant if there would be any compensation for customers in the hotel for being scared out of bed at 6am and kept from re entering their rooms because of the extremely loud alarms he rolled his eyes and told me to have a nice day. Men, Women and Children were literally standing in the lobby at 6am in their undies begging for the noise to stop. This hotel is managed as poorly as one could be. Mystery manager that pulled this stunt on my wife... call me. I have...
Read more0 Stars for this Comfort Suites. My husband and I travel across country for our business. Occasionally we rent rooms at various hotel chains. We had a layover in Colorado and ended up renting a room at this hotel. Upon checking in my husband was asked for his credit card for incidentals, no big deal happens all the time, we had already paid for the stay through Hotwire. We rented the room for two nights, but due to unfortunate circumstances we were not able to stay even the first night. When we checked out of the room that same night the guy working the front desk was super helpful and understood work is work. He said maybe we could contact Hotwire for a partial refund, we know that normally with Hotwire that's a risk you take, so again no big deal. However what is a big deal is that when my husband checked his credit card to see if the hold was taken off for the incidentals there is a charge for Tracfone airtime with a Colorado area code 720. We live in Texas and that hotel is the only place we used this card because that is the card we use strictly for hotel stays (easier for my bookkeeping). Now the charge is a small charge of $16.23, but it is not a charge we made. I contacted the hotel and spoke to a Paul. I contacted him with the sole purpose of informing him that the girl who checked us in, because she is the only person who physically touched that card, must have gotten his credit card information and paid for her some minutes. Like I said before it's a small charge most people wouldn't have even noticed. Well when I spoke to Paul he was not helpful in the least. He was actually quite rude, I don't know maybe they are related, he was not listening to what I was saying. He just kept saying that he didn't charge me anything. I asked him if there was anyone else I could speak to because frankly all he was doing is aggravating me because he refused to listen to what I was saying and just kept interrupting me. Once again I asked him if there was someone else I could speak to that may be interested to know that their employee was stealing from customers, he told me that he was the owner. He told me there was nobody above him because he owned all the Comfort Suites, really? I guess he thinks I was born yesterday and will be reading this review and know just exactly how ridiculous he sounds. Oh and by the way if you have ever stayed at this location check your credit card statements because Paul finds it perfectly acceptable for his employee to steal your hard earned money. I had to give it 1 star so that I could post this review, that is for Eric...
Read moreMy family and I stayed at the Comfort Suites Longmont Firestone to attend an event in Boulder, which turned out to be an easy, beautiful 35-minute drive. On the plus side, the lobby was bright and clean. All of the staff were friendly, professional, and accommodating. Breakfast was fairly decent, although the biscuits and gravy were bland (thick, flavorless gravy), and the eggs were sort of a scrambled egg cake. However, the sausage, pastries, waffles, coffee, etc., were tasty.
On the unfavorable side, although the fridge was larger than most hotel fridges, one of the adjustable feet was broken off, making the fridge wobbly and uneven. (I stuck some cardboard under there to level it up…) Additionally, the bottom of the fridge cabinet was broken, and a piece kept falling off whenever I opened the fridge door. The AC never really got cold, even though it ran constantly. There were old nail holes in the bathroom walls, mildew on the bathroom ceiling, and rust on the bathroom door frame. The floor was also dirty when we arrived, and the shower pressure was on the low side. The single kleenex box was nearly empty when we got there, and without an extra one provided in the storage space where towels are kept, I had to schlep down to the front desk to ask for more.
The shabbiest thing about the room was the funky, musty smell in the closet, presumably from someone leaving water in the iron, and housekeeping neglecting to empty it. The odor was so strong I thought it would make my clothing smell bad. Another minor but annoying thing was that the key cards kept becoming deactivated in my wallet. Granted, my magnetic money clip was probably the culprit, but I’ve not had this issue with other digital hotel keys, and of course none of my magnetic-strip credit cards are ever affected by this.
Finally on a positive note, we sincerely appreciated the location – near Longmont, close to I-25 (but not too close), and near many fast-food restaurants. The highlight, however, was the pool and hot tub. Our kids love swimming, and we never book a hotel that doesn’t have a pool. They were not disappointed, and our 9 year-old even raved, “I’d give this hotel five stars!” The water temperature in both the pool and hot tub were perfect, although they both had an oily ring above the water line. (Pool areas should always include showers, but that’s another story…)
Overall, we would probably stay here again as long as the price...
