I can't say if this is common at this location or not, and everyone was nice as individuals...but unfortunately I had an absolutely awful experience with this retailer.
First, as I was sitting in front of the store salesperson and before I signed any documents, I asked specifically if the activation fees and any taxes would be all that I would be spending up front, to which the reply was 'yes'. I was setting up 4 lines at $35/per, which is $140...add on some taxes and I'm thinking about $200 or so. Afterwards, the bill comes out to $390. I asked what the 'extra' is for, and I'm told that it's $30/per line for data transfer fees. I mentioned that I can do that myself in 5-10 minutes, and was then told that the fees can't be waived. I'm not happy, but I'm still under the impression that I'm paying for activation fees + a data transfer charge.
Fast-forward to end of month, and I'm being charged another $415 by 'national' Verizon, part of which is for activation fees again! I explain to them that I've already paid that...'national' Verizon disagrees. After calling the retailer back for clarification, it turns out that, in addition to the data transfer fees, I've also paid some other 'set up' fee charge!...and that I in fact did not pay any activation fees. So, in all, it cost nearly $400 just to set up my phones MINUS activation fees.
Second...I explained to the salesperson that I wanted a $35 unlimited line, and they explained that, for the promo I wanted, it needed to be a $45 plan...which I was fine with; except somehow I'm now on a $55 plan.
There were other more minor issues as well. This was my first time buying phones from a retailer (which, I didn't actually know at the time, nor would I have thought that the 'rules' would be different anyway...Verizon is Verizon). I don't know if all cell retailers do business this way, but I'm left with very much a 'snake oil' impression of this location at least. From now on, I will make sure I'm purchasing phones from the actual cell company. Furthermore, not only would I not recommend this business; I would advise to either steer very clear of this place or at least know what you're getting into when you make a...
Read moreOur experience left plenty to be desired. My wife’s phone crashed and we needed a replacement ASAP. We have a business account and thought we were dealing with a Verizon Corporate Store... NOT the case. Went in and instructed the rep over 3 separate times that we wanted to flat out purchase the phone and not touch our contract whatsoever. To our surprise we found the rep switched the type of contract my wife’s line was on, added features that were not present before and left us with a mess to sort out. It took several days and was quite the hassle to get this resolved. I would understand if there was one error and chalk that up as being a mistake, however, the amount of changes and disregard of our multiple requests to not touch our contract feels more like pure deception for the sake of a sale/commission. We waited almost a complete month to get a refund for the accessories we were overcharged for as they originally did not give us the discount that comes with the Verizon Business Accounts (despite claiming otherwise at the time of purchase) - each outreach for an update was met with a generic answer of they’re still working on it. Then, a month later we were on the phone with Verizon Corporate having to unravel this entire mess as our bill for the business was a complete debacle due to the reps actions. We will definitely steer clear of this location and will only work with a true Verizon Corporate store going forward - I recommend you...
Read moreAll I know is, I was a new customer with them three days old In fact, I needed to return a phone that wasn't working for me because of my disability and get something better. They swore up and down to me, they were going to get my problem fixed 2 hours later on the phone with them wanted a $700 deposit just so I can continue to use my phone while they sent me a new one. Told them to stick that idea where the sun doesn't shine and canceled my service. They actually wanted me to wait a week or two while they send you a replacement phone after they received yours it's insane that they just expect you to go that long without phone service what if an emergency happens? while I'm waiting for them to acknowledge I sent the phone back to them so they can send me a replacement Verizon sure didn't care about that. all this because they were too cheap to send me a phone that they were afraid I was going to steal I guess? phones are useless if they're not paid off you can't do anything with them I couldn't take it to another carrier or sell or nothing I don't know what they were so afraid of so they no longer have me as a customer and they got sent back a used iPhone and I'm not going to pay them a penny congratulations Verizon you saved your company a little money in the short-term but ended up costing them more in the long-term. because of your short-sighted policies policies only interested in profit rather...
