We had an issue at this location where a newer cashier had unfortunately bagged the meijer brand meat with a pineapple and it leaked fairly well on a few other products and our car from being cut up by the pineapple, including the very thin bags getting cut up. Not the biggest deal and we totally understand she was newer but something we wanted to contact them just to see about replacing the few things that had been covered in pork juice. We seperately handled shampooing our backseat. When we called, we spoke with Ed who was extremely condescending right away. He questioned why we even had our groceries in the backseat and not the trunk (We have strollers in the trunk). He even explained that by policy the cashiers only need to put things in the bag as they are put on the belt. Last time we checked raw pork juice is still raw pork juice regardless of where in the car it spills and futhermore we expected a bit less of an interrogation and more of a nice demeanor and better training then if its there put it together. By that logic if we bought 10 light bulbs and a brick you better just cross your fingers cause they are getting that single bag treatment. We were instructed to just call Thursday to speak to Andrew the SM but after doing that three times and being told he's unavailable we are just seeking other options because no one seems to care. I grew up in Florence and meijer used to be a wonderful place to shop. We used to drive 40 min out of our way to shop here as we have always been loyal customers but that has ended. We get that the management can be terrible sometimes and it shouldn't be a reflection of other hard working individuals, but dang we are disappointed. We weren't able to bag it ourselves as we had a large order or we would have. We have young kids and thinking about if the cashier is bagging properly isnt a priority over making sure our kids are behaving. We are no longer customer's but if you read this far I guess make sure you put your things on the belt in the proper order, don't buy pointy products and lastly check every bag you put in your car because by policy they don't need to care what they mix together....
Read moreMeijer in Florence sucks! Me and my wife went in there tonight and I use the men's restroom in the rear of the store which was by all means disgusting. Then while my wife had picked out two pair of jeans she loved, I was followed around the store with someone who I expect to be loss prevention's. Me and my wife are both clean cut nice dressed average people who by all means do not need to steal! LOL! At some point I passed the gentleman indirectly because I started to kind of follow him around and beat him to the next corner, I asked him if he wanted to be my friend, without asking or facial expression he turned the opposite way and walked away swiftly after he's had a pretty calm stride throughout the store. Period. Anyone can catch him out of the lineup. Anyway whenever would be in the checkout with our full-body mirror some batteries my wife's two or three pairs of jeans a monster and a chocolate milk and my wife's can the first pair of jeans they were marked wrong. They were marked for $10 and we're actually being sodas $30 my wife's attitude changed drastically LOL. The ladies proceeded to tell us that it was marked wrong and that was the Fashions department and there was nothing that she could do about it. I don't know how many other stores you've been into but whenever there's a huge sign over the stand you're getting close off of and it says sale 30% off and says the price it's usually the price. Meijer unique and different because their that is not what it means. Needless to say we will not be going back there not for batteries Not For a mirror not for jeans Honestly for probably nothing. The whole store and experience kinda Killed My Vibe towards that place. I hope your experience isn't as bad as ours but I would not recommend it try Walmart...
Read moreTired of the staff and lack-there-of. Because they only have one person over the entire grocery department (not enough staff to sort and stock, the customer service person informed us of this, states its due to that location's lack of income) , I bought some expired canned fruit. Took it back to the store where the supervisor felt it was acceptable to make a joke at my expense (I made a statement about how canned goods typically don't expire before you have a chance to use them at which point he informed me everything has an expiration date, followed by a chuckle). And then he acted like I was trying to scam him (that's why there was several other expired cases on the same spot). Their produce section is never fresh and frequently past use. Too often, items are marked down for clearance with no option to buy unexpired. They only have a few registers open at a time and most of their cashiers are rude or slow (or both). We went through the self checkout today (because there were only 2 lanes with cashiers open and of course, each time we self checkout, it takes forever because their self checkout system sucks, but what's worse is there's only one attendant for 10 self checkouts, so it takes forever to get help) where the attendant thought it necessary to give my husband a lesson in respect (the attendant walked past us twice while the help notification was on so my husband flagged him down). The only thing that keeps us as customers are the mperks but the bad is starting to outweigh the mperks. We do at least 95% of our grocery shopping here... not sure for how much...
