Why "local guides" are giving this place 5 stars I don't know. They need to get out a bit more or check their barometer for fine dining. There are tons of places to buy a $12 cocktail in Fort Collins, and way better places to eat. This one just forces you to have a reservation and take an elevator ride. It's a bar on a rooftop with charcuterie boards... this isn't ground breaking stuff. Quality is good but let's be honest, it's pretty hard to screw up meat, cheese, and crackers. I'm all for cool cocktails but we're not curing cancer here. In a room with less than 40 seats, no walls, and everyone 6ft apart, it should take a mediocre staff about 10 minutes to do what actually took about 25 minutes. Oh and would it kill em to put some actual tables in there instead of the pretentious little cocktail pads? Who picked out the furniture for this place? The seating arrangement is just weird. It's like someone tried to merge their grandparents garage sale with the chairs from a Holiday Inn. The seating puts you so low you can't see out the windows which is the only reason to visit this little over priced hotel bar. Two words for management: "High Tops". You could get 4-5 more tables in there, decrease wait times, give people a better view, make it easier on your staff, allow two people to actually communicate, and be able to put a plate down without an engineering degree. Stop trying to reinvent the wheel. The location is great but if this place is getting 5 stars there's 10 star places just around the corner. A sack lunch, bottle of wine, and the top of a parking garage will get you about the same thing. Nothing about this place is spectacular or unique aside...
Read moreAt Sunset Lounge. My friends step out to smoke and the server comes up to me and tells me I am responsible for their drinks if they leave. I tell her they won't and I want to close out my own tab for my single drink. She holds my card for 20 minutes and doesn't bring me my bill. I go to the bar to ask her if she has closed out my tab and she tells me that my friends aren't back and I need to pay for their drinks. I tell her that I am responsible for my own drink and that I am trying to pay for mine and to please close out my tab. The bar back starts to laugh because he can tell I am totally ready to throw down about this and that she is in the wrong. As she closes out my tab everyone comes walking in and I point to my friends and say, "huh, guess they came back ". Then she tells my friends when I am using the restroom that I was trying to bolt on everyone because I wanted to pay my bill... My friends call her out and she finally chills out. I will say the Sunset Lounge is cool and I have nothing but positive things to say about it but this one person left a really bad taste in my mouth. Not sure if I can recommend this place if this is how they are going to treat...
Read moreHigh tea on Sunday, what a disappointment. Uncomfortable seating at tiny tables. Food is placed on an old ash tray as a stand, and was all unexpectedly bad. A single cold hard meatball, egg salad on tasteless rye. Goat cheese tart had separated and was grainy and sour. The scones were also bland and stale-hard, much more than a scone should be. They came with frozen butter. The best item was a chocolate tart that tasted like it came from target. Tea is poured for you and the tea pots are not left at the table, so when you run out you wait until staff comes back out from the kitchen; four tables filled today and every one had empty cups by the time the server checked back. When we switched types of tea they poured the new flavors in the same cup with the tea leaves from the last flavor still in the bottom. Do not recommend, go...
