When I first saw this place, it looked to be the perfect place to celebrate a bachelor party for my best friend. I booked 5 rooms (with 2 bedrooms in each) for 10 people through booking.com over a month in advance as we knew it would be busy since it was during spring break. We had several questions for the hotel staff prior to my arrival, and reach out several times in the weeks prior using their phone number and email listed on their website, and additionally also through the booking.com contact link. Unfortunately, I never heard from them once, but nonetheless was still excited to celebrate and didn’t think twice.
When I arrived, you can imagine my dismay as I found out that they had cancelled the reservation while I was on the way. They had already filled the rooms with other people. I was furious, and talked to the hotel owner who appeared to be concerned, and was quick to blame booking.com for the mishap. So I called booking, and they said that my reservation was not cancelled, and was still active. So at this point, both hotel and booking.com were pointing fingers at each other.
With the room gone, I spent the next 8 hours fighting with booking.com to find me another comparable arrangement, which they never did. I ended up paying several thousand dollars more for an inferior accommodation due to low inventory because of spring break.
This was a stressful, and unpleasant blemish on what should have been a fun and relaxing weekend. Instead of having Mojitos by the pool, we spent the first whole night schlepping bags around town, arguing with booking.com.
At the very best, the Villas Las Olas Hotel ‘Apart is incompetent. If they had called us back or emailed us one of the 4 times we contacted them in the weeks prior, maybe they wouldn’t have cancelled our reservation. (I forgot to mention we had several gifts sent their from people that couldn’t attend, which we also never received.) If that is the case, their incompetence cost us money, stress, and valuable time on a short weekend trip. (They claim they had attempted to take payment, and for some reason, said it didn’t work. I saw no attempted transaction on my CC, and you would think if someone had a $4,000 reservation over a month in advance, it might warrant a phone call, which I am curious if they even have a phone) Even if Booking.com sucks and is a terrible partner, you never called me back once, and do not deserve the benefit of the doubt. I also see several other reviews claiming the same thing.
At the worst, they realized they could cancel our contract and make more money booking with a non-discounted rate, and made up a story about my CC not working. If that is the case, this is a scummy and disgraceful establishment.
Therefore, I cannot recommend The Villas Las Olas Hotel ‘Apart at all, or booking.com. If you want to roll the dice, with your vacation and possibly schlepp around your bags for several hours trying to find another place to stay, while sweating profusely in the South Florida humidity, while watching happy strangers drink Mojitos (who ostensibly stayed at reliable hotels) this might be the place for you! One of the worst, if not worst booking experiences I...
Read moreThis hotel was such a disappointment. I had family coming into town, 6 people and 1 baby and wanted to find a comfortable place for my family to stay at. I reached out to BeachHopper Golf Carts if they had any recommendations for a hotel, they mentioned this place. So I called and spoke to Garrett, who said that yes they had a spot available for my date ( a month ahead) and that if we paid cash, it would cost us less. So, we later met up with him, paid him THE FULLE AMOUNT cash for 3 days, and he showed us the hotel room. It was a 3 bedroom hotel that he toured us around, we took pictures, etc. I even received a receipt by email (even though it was zero'd out and my name was not correct). About a month later when my family got into town and tried checking in, they were placed in a 2 bedroom hotel! It was 6 people and a baby!! He said that a 3 bedroom wasn't available, and we could take what we had or leave it. He was very rude, unapologetic, and the whole time spoke to us through his intercom system in his office. He was literally on the other side of the door but wouldn't come out to talk to us in person. He didn't do anything to fix the situation and just ran and hid and took our cash. I do not recommend this hotel to anybody, and I will not recommend this hotel to any of my clients (I'm in tourism). Nothing was done to fix this, and that reflects on the hotel management. VERY VERY...
Read moreMy partner and I have had the pleasure of staying at the exquisitely appointed apartments of The Villas on Las Olas for the fifth time. Owned and operated by the two most amazing guys Garret and Jason, this hotel is more of a second home to us, a luxury vacation home to be exact. The apartments have marble floors, granite counters, sleek furniture easy on the eyes and the most comfortable King size bed I have ever slept in without a doubt. The view outside our floor to ceiling bay windows is a terrace overlooking multiple majestic catamarans lining the perimeter of the resort. The ambiance of the poolside courtyard is complimented with exotic plants and palms illuminated by a colorful array of lights embodying the essence of secluded resort living. The staff is beyond helpful catering to our every want and need and the proximity of the beach, restaurants and nightlife is key to a fulfilling vacation. If you are looking for the resorts experience with a a vacation home feel, I highly recommend The Villas on Las Olas with Jason and Garret. Thank you both for the fantastic stay. We look forward to our next vacation and many...
