I really really want this place to be good because it’s the closest one to my house, it’s just too inconsistent. I did a trial for wedding nails and booked with the person they recommended did the best French manicure. I showed up for my appointment with her and she had left for the day (grrr), so they recommended another girl who actually also did a good job. I wanted to book her for my wedding (wedding is not a time to be finding new nail techs), and did so very in advance. I arrived for my appointment and she was not there either! UGH but fine, it worked out last time so fingers crossed. I got a man and we started with my toes. His method of painting them was essentially to put polish all over my toe and then wipe it clean to be just on the nail. I’m never “this girl” but at the end, I had him touch up several areas where there was still polish on my skin. I wanted to ask for a different person to do my nails, but supposedly they only have a few people that work with acrylic nails. So then he examines my nails and says that he thinks the acrylics on there are too weak and he wants to remove them all and start over. So I say fine without understanding that this means he will be prying them off my fingers (TORTURE) one by one. On one of my nails it wasn’t ready to come off so it pulled off my entire real nail (down to the skin) which…really hurt whenever anything touched it after. He argued with me about the color of my nail polish (I explicitly wrote it down so I could stay consistent for the wedding) and said they didn’t have it (they did, it just required 2 min extra of work to go get it from the drawer.) I did not love the shape of my nails which is really a shame for this occasion in particular. I don’t feel my inspo photo was followed in that regard. So beware…even if you make an appt with a specific person there’s a good chance they won’t be at work that day, and you may get an unqualified...
Read moreReceptionist (straight strawberry blonde medium length hair) felt a little dismissive. Saw all these reviews about being offered drinks, but I had to ask. Figured maybe a combo of being in sweats and looking kind of young (about to turn 22) so I'm not too bothered about not being offered. But when I did ask, my nail tech (she's great btw, and I'll touch on her below) asked her and she didn't acknowledge it and proceeded to tell her about something unrelated before going back to the counter and just when I thought she was looking for glasses she was fixing her face in the mirror behind the glass rack... so after a few more minutes I asked my nail tech if maybe she forgot and so she asked her again and got a short "ya" response... FYI, I had my ID out and everything so it wasn't a question of age issue, cause even when handed the drink I felt a bit of a 'turned up nose' vibe... I mean idk, I work in food service, so I can completely understand absent-mindedness with end of day or anything else going on, but I definitely felt a bit of 'you're young and dressed down' dismissiveness from her... ..
BUT my nail tech herself saved this whole experience! Malla (pronounced Maya/Maia, the double L sounds as a 'y' cause it's spanish) was polite, sweet, professional and did a beautiful beautiful job! Prices are reasonable for the area, and I honestly thought drinks would be a lot more expensive considering, so I was pleasantly surprised. Overall clean place and great results, so if the receptionist can give the same service to clientele from all walks of life I can give that 5th...
Read moreI have been a loyal client of this salon for many years, which makes this review very disappointing to write. My past three appointments in particular have been extremely frustrating. Even when I book ahead of time, I end up waiting anywhere from 30-60 minutes before starting my services (even when I purposely schedule during slower mid-day hours).
Marisa has always been my go-to nail tech, and this is not a reflection of her personally. She is amazing, personable, talented and has consistently done a wonderful job for me. The issue is that she is clearly overworked and rushed due to double-booking and poor scheduling. During my most recent visit, she mentioned she had six clients back-to-back without a single break all day.
As a result, my service felt hurried and the quality has declined dramatically. After being at the salon for 3 hours (for a simple gel mani and regular express pedi), I left with multiple painful cuts on my fingers, and several days later I still have scabs, chunks of skin missing, redness and inflammation around my cuticles (see photos). Paying $100+ to leave bleeding and in pain is unacceptable.
The management needs to respect their technicians’ time and their clients’ appointments. Unfortunately, unless major changes are made, I will not...
