Started out great, our server was fantastic and made great recommendations. Sushi we got was good as well as our appetizer, snow crab escargot. Drinks were delicious also.
Come around to the main course my steak was supposed to be medium well but came out rare still raw in the entire center, more than half the steak was undercooked I only ate the edges. We did not enjoy the sides we ordered. The brussel sprouts were just too sweet, they had the brussel sprout texture but no brussel sprout flavor. Asparagus was also bland with not much flavor. We did not intend to say anything regarding the under cooked steak or the sides we did not enjoy.
When I asked for the check and told our server we did not want any boxes to go he questioned why and also said I can see your steak is undercooked it was supposed to be medium well. He said let me go talk to my manager, I said it wasn't necessary but he insisted. The manager came over after a few minutes asking what's the problem. I explained about the steak and he said "do you want me to cook your steak more?". I replied no.
The manager was rude from the moment he came to our table and never even apologized. He really didn't do anything for us for the under cooked steak that cost $57 for literally just the 8oz center cut filet no sides.
I am not comfortable having someone "fix my order" after they messed it up, especially after we have already requested the check and were ready to go. The least he could've done was deduct some money off the bill considering our overall total was $452 and some change for just me and my wife for her birthday dinner.
After about 15 minutes or so from the moment we asked for the check from our server, he brought us our check with no deduction or an apology.
At the start of our vist we had the intention of returning to this restraunt at the end of our visit we were held hostage while they debated about our check that they never even reduced. Mind you i never asked for anything but the check.
The seafood was good but not good enough to return, the king crab legs we got were cut into 2-3 inch pieces and served with no utensils. After our server noticed we were using our forks to crack the crab legs he brought us a pair or scissors that looked like they were for cutting crab legs and said the kitchen should have cracked those better, but they were never cracked at all. Honestly would have been easier to remove the crab from the shell if they didnt cut each leg into small pieces.
When you're going to a high end restraunt you should be receiving perfection with your food quality and exceptional service. Being someone from Chicago I can say I have never in my life had a similar experience at a high end restraunt in the city of Chicago.
We came here to celebrate and got treated like a tourist by the manager who didn't seem to care his kitchen is serving overpriced poor quality food.
If you're in town visiting I'd recommend going somewhere else. Plenty of better places with seafood that dont cost nearly as much as it did here.
I would have liked to give a higher review as our server and the hostess were very polite and professional but the manager seems to lack the necessary experience for...
Read moreCatch & Cut brings a fresh and creative approach to seafood and steakhouse dining in the heart of Fort Lauderdale. The atmosphere is lively yet upscale, with a rooftop lounge that is perfect for enjoying a cocktail before or after dinner. The menu showcases inventive takes on classic dishes, blending high-quality ingredients with unique presentations. And the service is off the charts. From the moment we arrived, the staff was very friendly and attentive.
Standout Dishes
One of the most interesting starters was the Surf and Turf Meatballs, a rich and unexpected combination of tender meatballs mixed with lobster. The flavors worked surprisingly well together, creating a decadent and satisfying bite. Another inventive appetizer was the Crispy Wrapped Shrimp, where succulent shrimp were topped with crispy Chinese noodles, adding a crunchy contrast to the dish.
I love salads, and the Caesar Salad Stack was a fun and interactive take on the classic Caesar, served in a Mason jar and stacked with fresh romaine, Parmesan, and house-made dressing. And who doesn’t love a Crab & Avocado Salad? The combination of creamy avocado and fresh crab made for a light yet flavorful dish.
Moving on to entrees, the 48-Hour Chicken is Catch & Cut’s spin on fried chicken, delivering incredible flavor and tenderness from the extended preparation process. For seafood lovers, the Maine Lobster and Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes were perfectly cooked, golden on the outside, packed with sweet, delicate seafood inside, and full of flavor.
On the steak front, my favorite dish was the Bone-In Ribeye, which was cooked to perfection. It was juicy, flavorful, and expertly seared. It paired beautifully with the Brussels Sprouts and Steak Fries, two hearty side dishes that rounded out the meal perfectly.
Cocktails & Rooftop Experience
After dinner, we enjoyed drinks on the rooftop, which offers a great view and a relaxed yet stylish vibe. The cocktail menu is just as creative as the food, featuring inventive drinks with high-quality spirits. The selection of Chicken Cock and other whiskeys stood out, offering an excellent option for bourbon lovers. One standout cocktail was the Smoking Barrel, a rich and smoky bourbon-based drink with a hint of sweetness, perfect for sipping under the stars.
Catch & Cut is a fantastic addition to the Las Olas dining scene, combining innovative dishes with high-quality ingredients and a great atmosphere. This spot delivers on all fronts. I'll definitely be back to try more...
Read moreSo, I read the reviews before me and I've got to believe that they got their meals paid for. We didn't experience anything detailed in these "glowing" reviews.
To start out, we walked in and we thought we were in a geriatric ward, all of the men with pocket squares like they were in a movie called "oldfellas"
We found out that there was an upstairs and it turns out that everyone that was young enough to climb the stairs actually did.
The hostesses upstairs were super nice and accommodating.
On with the food...
Ordered two sushi rolls and found them to be incredibly bland. They weren't too expensive so, I guess you get what you pay for.
The appetizer sushi tacos were also very bland.
We kept seeing people walk by with bread, we had a bread plate and knife but were never offered bread.... Had to ask for it and to that point it was the hit of the menu.
Ordered a double drink with two ingredients and it took 20 minutes to make it to the table. Two ingredients. We asked about the drink and were told "she's making it". Speaking of drinks, it turns out that the signature cocktail that my wife ordered is made with absolute. Ew, is absolute still a thing? Then heard a waitor explaining that their in house mixologist crafts these cocktails... What "mixologist" pours absolute?
Still being hungry we decided to go for the steak burger. It was 4 out of 5, at least it had good flavor and was cooked perfectly.
The table next to us ordered this layered salad thing. The waitor brought it in a plastic cup and had to bang on it to get it out of said cup. Terrible presentation, as part of the salad was stuck and he had to walk away with part of the mans order 😂. I wanted the steak but wouldnt risk 70$ on an unknown the way things played out.
All in all, I would rather have the parking spaces on Las olas back that they jacked then come here again.
It WAS enjoyable to hear people, next to us and the table next to them sharing the same thoughts that we had.
The photo attached is our table at the end of the evening, not a single thing was cleared when we finished. They just left our table a mess the whole time. The server was very nice and honest, but not super knowledgeable about the menu.
We hope you work it out, Las olas is a...
