April 1, 2023 room 618: I was super excited to stay here, and everything started out great until I was in my room getting dressed and someone that I later found out was “maintenance”, opened my door announced, as I was getting dressed. I saw him on my floor earlier that day upon arrival and he spoke to us (me and my son) as we were entering our room upon arrival. A few hours later, I happened to be standing outside the bathroom (by the door), when the door opened (no announcement, no knock). I said what’s going on here. He walked away fast once I grabbed the handle to look into the hallway to see who it was. He had grey hair, a black Ette Hotel t-shirt on and tattoos on his right arm. When he saw me look to see who opened my door unannounced, he then said maintenance loudly as he was walking away quickly. I want to be clear that I never called maintenance. I then called the front desk because I was scared out of my mind. While the woman ( name start with an M) I spoke to said the Manager was offsite, she expressed she understood why I was upset and offered “late checkout” for my inconvenience. I am going on a cruise so I’m checking out at 9 AM. My issue is this is a huge safety concern on so many levels. The hotel is rather quiet which is great, but there didn’t seem to be a lot of people around. I immediately called the front desk. The woman I spoke to said she understood, and that she would speak to him and she guaranteed me this wouldn’t happen again. I asked that she follow up with me. I was outside at the restaurant eating and I saw the guy that entered my room, in the pool area. I left the table and talked to the woman at the front desk. She stated that he knows the owner and that they have known him for a long time. She claims that the maintenance guy was responding to a leak above. I was on the 6th floor (rooftop floor, so how was there a leak above and I never called for maintenance )? We also talked about the proper procedure to enter a room, which should include a loud knock and a loud announcement to wait to see if you get an acknowledgment prior to entry. As a woman I was completely terrified and didn’t sleep well after that. She did ask what they could do to make it better, told me they have cameras on every floor, and she said she would put a do not disturb sign on my door to assure me that no one else would enter my room. Obviously once you feel like your safety is compromised, you just no longer feel safe. For that reason I can’t give this place a 4 or 5 star and will never come back. To be fair, beyond that my stay would have been nothing short of amazing. The staff was incredibly nice, I was greeted by Alejandro and received a tour when I arrived. I had “Linner” (late lunch), outside at Salt and The Cellar and the food and service was amazing. My dad joined us for dinner at Salt and The Cellar. Perola and Thomas were the staff that waited on us and they were phenomenal. Perola especially made my stay better because she was the ultimate professional (super kind, made great food suggestions and was top notch). Everything we ate was great. The atmosphere is nice and serene. My feedback is as a customer they should take it upon themselves to do something great for the customer, opposed to placing the earnest on the customer on what they can do to make my stay better. I travel often, and stay at 5- star hotels that would have taken care of me better than this seeing that my safety was compromised. The only outcome here was a do not disturb sign on the outside door handle. As a woman I had to make my experience known for the...
Read moreThis was our first visit to the Ette Hotel located in Celebration a suburb of Orlando, we arrived on a scorching September day and was warmly greeted by Alejandro who welcomed us and promptly checked us in to a suite on the 6th floor.
The Ette is one of those hotels that manages to create a sense of relaxation and calm the minute you walk through the door and as we entered our suite it was clear that the attention to every detail in creating a chilled, relaxed and calming stay had been considered. The rooms just like reception smelt amazingly sensual and fresh making us want to just collapse into the large King size bed and fall asleep.
But no time for that reviews are no good if you are sleeping through the experience, we were off to explore the hotel amenities which are all conveniently located on the 1st (Ground) floor. The gym is small and filled with exceptionally high-quality free weights which look like they have only ever been lifted to be cleaned. There is a spa which we are sure is amazing but after reviewing the in-room QR code price list my partner decided that her pre-flight pedicure would suffice.
There is a laundry museum, yep you heard me right you can actually watch the staff prepare your linens and towels if you are that way inclined, I am not here to judge, I just know that the bedding, linens and towels were amazingly soft, fresh and one of the most comfortable hotel beds we agreed we had ever slept on.
The pool deck was well appointed and quiet when we arrived with only a few guests taking advantage of the late afternoon Florida sunshine, it was still 96 degrees at 5pm!
After a very pleasant night’s stay at the Ette we decided to have breakfast at Salt & The Cellar restaurant which we arrived for just after 8am, this unfortunately was a disappointing experience and the waiter Mr Stacey, failed to serve drinks to 3 couples in the following 15 minutes. When the drinks did arrive, he served all 3 tables in random order going from table to table concluding with no hot drink provided to me.
The service was made worse by his apparent poor service being explained by himself to another table and subsequently to us as being due to a lack of staff and being also responsible for room service.
This was such a disappointment and not the experience one would expect from a hotel where it is self-proclaimed that you will enjoy “experience the ultimate in luxury and wellbeing at our boutique hotel in Orlando”
On a final note, Luciano at the front desk apologised profusely for the breakfast experience which we had given up on after the failure to serve us hot drinks and the breakfast order arriving incorrect. It was such a shame to leave with such a negative experience but this is a reminder to all staff and mangers in the hospitality industry that one staff member’s off day can undo the wealth of hard work of an...
Read moreFrom the moment my husband and I walked in, we had the red carpet treatment the whole entire stay. They over exceeded our expectations. We were wowed by the hospitality of the amazing staff that I now call our friends. We had the pleasure of meeting the owners Alex and Shiela and they were absolutley divine and genuine people that we are blessed to meet. Tascha was so pleasant and made sure we were well taken care of. If there were more people in this world like her, this world will be a better place. I felt like royalty around her. Just love her. It was so nice to be agknowledged from the first moment of walking in and they all wished us a happy anniversary. Then Augustine was a man of all trades. He delivered a nice treat of a fruit tray and non alocholic champagne which was perfect. He also took care of our car and hubby forgot his phone and he noticed it in the car and he was so kind to bring it up. That is amazing service. Then we had stacy our Amazing server. I just wanted to take him.home with me. He served us with such class and made us feel so special. We are in the hospitality buisness and we were just blown away by how kind and on point the service was. Moving forward to our spa experience. Abigail knew exactly what she had to work on more with my kinks in my shoulders. It was an excellent massage and felt relaxed the whole day. The spa area was so beautifully designed with one of a kind lounge heated chairs. And forgive me for not remembering the fine gentlmans name , as i feel everyone that is so deserving should be recognized by name , however he worked in the spa as well and made sure my husband and i had hot tea and snacks to relax. This by far has been the best hotel stay ever. Thats an understatment ! It takes a lot for me to write a review but they are worth every penny. If you want to be treated with the upmost respect , this is the place for you. I love the fact that this is a wellness hotel. It is a non alcholic facility which didnt bother us one bit ,however if you want a beverage with your meal or just to unwind, they let you bring it to the hotel and no extra charge for uncorking the wine. They accomadate all your needs. This hotel is so on point that even the day of the passing of Queen Elizabeth, they had a large book display with white gloves in her honor. May she rest in peace. Thank you for the great memories we created on this mini getaway from home. But I now consider this place my home away from home. We will certainly be back and with our children next time. Long post but from...
