I have been to several sickies locations. This is the 1st time I have been here at his location . I decided to try a different location (here) to see if the service would be better. But, I was wrong. When I first tried sickies, I was instantly drawn to their "Glazed Doughnut Burger," and the first time i got it, it was amazing, lots of icing and just all-around yummness
So, a month ago, I went with family to the same location (not here, but dont worry they got a review too) that I had been going too, and every time I get the doughnut burger. Well, that time, they denied me the burger I wanted to order because the waitor told me the cooks told him, "They didn't want to make the icing" for the burger. So I couldn't get it, I tried something else, and that burger was gross 🙃. So, I came here. I asked before I sat down, will the cooks have enough icing, and be willing to let me order a little extra to pour on my burger (I was willing to pay extra, too). The waitress was super kind and went to ask the cooks. Because I was going to leave if they didn't have enough for the burger or didn't feel like making some icing or was gonna deny me that burger.
Personally, their food isn't that great, in my opinion, unless you get the appetizers or the doughnut burger. Well, the waitress comes back and says that yes, the cooks had enough icing, and I could most definitely get the doughnut burger if I wanted. I was so happy and excited.
However, when it came out... there was barely any icing on it at all. I asked the guy that brought the food, if he could get me a little thing of icing for my burger. He looked at me and told me that the doughnuts come pre-made the way they are (with icing on them and all). Which i knew was a lie. Because the other location had told me the cooks didn't want to make the icing, which is why I couldn't order it at the other place last time.
So, I asked the waitress when she came back. I told her I didnt think it was her fault but, why would the cooks tell her to tell us they had enough icing but, now I am not able to get a little more especially when it looks like they barely added any in the first place. She goes and asks again. She comes back, and she tells me that the cook only makes a certain amount of icing, and once it's out, it's out. That they dont have enough supplies to make more.... mind you, we came in at 8 pm. Sickies don't close until 12am... so why dont you have enough? It is my question.
Anyways, my hubby wanted to ask a manger mainly why the waitress was made to tell us Yes, but then a few moments later when the food comes out, we got told No, they dont got enough. So the manager comes, and he says he isn't sure if they have enough to make icing and that the doughnut burger isn't a popular item, so they dont ever make much of the icing... weird. He then tells us he will go see if he has enough to make some, and he'd come back and let us know if he would be able to make some or not.
We wind up sitting for over 30 minutes waiting for the manager to come back to let us know if it was a yes we can or no, we can't. We just wanted to know in case I wanted to order something else. The whole time we waited, the manager never came to let us know an answer, and our waitress had disappeared. Mind you, it wasn't really all that busy.
Eventually, the waitress comes back and asks if we are ready for the check. We tell her we have been waiting for over 30 minutes for the manager to see if he was able to make any icing or not. She looks at our check and says "Oh he just went ahead and compt it." Which was okay. But the fact that there was 0 communication was highly disappointing, and what if I wanted to order something else to eat??
We didn't get to leave until almost 11 pm (due to waiting for the manger/waitress) We won't be back. Unfortunately. At any of the...
Read moreThe food was great! The service needs a little work and the atmosphere in general was great! We ordered the county fair hamburger and it was amazing especially with the spicy ranch they had. The honey hot chicken (if you order be sure they heard you correctly because there is 3 different hot chicken sandwiches.) The honey hot chicken had a weirdly great taste. Who would have thought a hot honey chicken would be good with honey mustard and Cole slaw, weird combination but it was great. We got the wrong entree and they brought out a hot chicken. It was a hot chicken sandwich smothered in mash potatoes and gravy. It was also different but good! We got the sunrise loaded chicken tots.(appetizer) There was not a lot of chicken on it but the taste was great anyway. Now for the fries I don’t know how they would have been fresh, but with the hassle of getting my entree fixed by the time I had the fries they were cold and were mediocre. Now my friend who I was with ordered 2 different tenderloin steak bite dinners. I do not recommend or you will be disappointed! For it to be $22 and $25, it should have came with more than 4/5 little pieces of steak. She did end up returning those and ordered wings instead which were pretty big and worth it. So as far as the food everything in general for the most part was great! Now for the service, we were greeted. We paid for the food and they helped bring it to the car. Great service, but when my order was wrong things weren’t as great.. (not saying the greeter was bad, I just think he could work a little on the compassion. An apology and let me see how I can fix the situation would have been a little better.) I checked the food realized I had the wrong order, went in explained it was wrong and mentioned what I ordered. The young gentleman left and came back said it was right. I went back to the car and looked up the menu online and went back inside and showed it again to which he then got them to make the correct sandwich. The sandwich they made the first time was not even online. So I did have him show me where on their inside menu it was cause I couldn’t understand how they could have two with the same name. (Not quite the same as one has honey to its name so whoever took my order heard incorrectly but whatever accidents happen). The manager ended up talking to me and he was great....
Read moreI happen to travel to Florida regularly and noticed Sickies being built during a summer vacation. I was unsure when it was supposed to open but was curious nonetheless. So today as I was traveling I noticed it was opened and decided to give it a try.
Open Date: 11/17/2021 Visit date: 11/19/2021 First thing worth noting how bright and vibrant the signage is. You can see it in both directions on 192. Another great feature is its located right off of I-4 right around two miles down the road. Great location surrounded by shops and other businesses. Parking lot offered plenty of parking.
Upon arrival in wasn't sure what to expect. I have never heard of Sickies prior to this visit. When I approached the door I was greeted nicely by 3 different employees. The inside of the restaurant was well-lit and matched the outside vibrancy. Lots of trinkets, memorabilia, license plates and TVs placed throughout the restaurant. Plenty of seating inside the restaurant with available outside seating.
My waitress was named Potter and she was awesome. Even though the menu is new she was able to help me navigate through it and offered some great suggestions for my meal. She was very pleasant and made my first Sickies experience a great one.
For my meal I ordered the 'Hangover' which was located on the all day breakfast burger portion of the menu. The 'Hanover' consists of a cheeseburger wrapped in bacon, ham slices, and 2 eggs covered by a donut bun! Side was waffle fries with seasoned salt. I was able to order my burger medium rare and came out cooked perfectly!!!! Food came out hot and fresh. I also ordered three sauces to try the boom boom sauce, the oh yeah sauce and barbecue sauce. The Boom-Boom sauce complemented the waffle fries perfectly. For dessert the s'mores cake with a small ice cream scoop. This desert was amazing and the right size after a good-sized meal. Great balanced flavor the made it super enjoyable.
Prices were fair, the environment was friendly, the TVs gave you plenty of sports to watch and while enjoying a meal. I would certainly recommend this to someone that's looking for a good burger. They also offer many other menu options to satisfy almost every appetite. I definitely will be back....
