I had a late arrival due to the loss of a family member. I called the resort to let them know I wouldn't be able to come, and they offered me to come another time, but it would need to be booked. In fear of losing my money altogether or to spend more, I went anyway. I arrived late, around 9. I waited patiently as they were short staffed. Just then, an angel came flying around the corner. Mr. Rich - the maintenance man. He apologized for the delay because the front desk woman was on break, and he was helping. This man was running around like a chicken with the head off. Closing down the theater, heading basketballs out. Closing pools, and all the way smiling and being so helpful and kind. As he came around, he said it was his 1st, and I jokingly said, "So you'll be my victim." I quickly said I was just kidding and said," ok Rich, let's do this! " Long story, short.... the computer crashed, the woman came to help, and they both worked so well together. Their communication was impeccable. She was so patient. He asked questions to understand better, etc. How a true relationship works! They communicated to listen, learn, relieve, and achieve the goal. All the while remaining calm, kind, and welcoming. They were my victims. Victims of my patience, love, kindness, and patience. We finally got checked in, and we had the best time of our lives. I was celebrating my 40th bday with my children and husband. We never needed to leave. Orbit One has something for everyone! The resort was clean, the staff were amazing, the villas gorgeous! I've been to their sister resort once called Liki Tiki that we loved, but honestly, this was the best trip of my entire life!! Please hear me on this.... It doesn't matter where you go. It's about who you are, why you're there, and your perspective. I could have come and written a terrible review here about waiting on Rich forever and that him and that woman had me waiting forever and their short staffed and it's smaller than liki tiki and Rich didn't kniw what he was doing and their wifi messed up, blah blah blah..... That's life! Life happens. We were all trying to make it. We use resorts to escape, to run, to celebrate, to rejoice, to build memories. We make memories on these trips regardless of the where, what, when, or why. Be kind! Rich was rich and is a humble rich man working his butt off. A man who had ppl work for him. A "bottom feedimg maintenance man" God uses the least likely of people. The businessman, the broken, the bruised, the single moms, single dads, drunks, bosses, CEOs, and pool guys. He uses kids' laughter, basketball courts, watersides, chest, mini golf, huge bathrobe, free movies, dancing in kitchens, snuggles in beds, and a home filled with laughter and memories. That's why it says, "Welcome Home." When you arrive there. It's a true home away from home. Peace, rest, laughter, and fun. Hilton, once Diamond Resorts offers low income families the opportunity to give their families an affordable vacation. As a once single mom myself, I can't tell you how much I appreciate this! As a hard worker, trying to make it, a family of 6 Orbit One provided me with the most amazing experience ever. I have booked many resorts, hotels, and airbnbs. Orbit One is top tier. I prayed over this resort, and I know that only beautiful memories will be made there. Mr. Rich was and is exactly that, RICH! God took "it" all, the money, and he still remains kind, helpful, carrying, and kind. He made my trip that better. I give you permission to give Mr. RIch my contact information because he is a wonderful man and anyone lucky/blessed enough to have him apply truly have no idea the blessing of a man he is. Thank you, Orbit One! I look forward to visiting my home away from home for many years to come. God bless you all. God named you Rich cause you know your riches aren't monetary. Your...
Read moreThe rooms were clean and comfortable. The kitchen was a nice size and had most of the things you needed to cook. If you needed something and they had it, they would happily supply it for you. Each room had a television. The one in the living room area however was difficult to watch. It was mounted on the wall on a flat mount that could not be adjusted in any way. If you were sitting in the chairs you had to keep your neck crained the entire time to see the TV.
The pool area was lovely and clean as well.
The "fitness center" was very small. It had one treadmill, 1one elliptical and I think one bike. There was a universal weight machine but it didn't have enough capabilities if you wanted a real workout.
The bathrooms were nice but they could have put up some extra hooks to hang towels on.
We stayed for an entire week and we used the room quite a bit. Because of that the room didn't get dirty. There was nothing available for us to clean it with other than a broom. The floors were a mess by the time we left. I tried spot cleaning the best I could with the extra towels. We weren't able to vacuum the carpets either because there were no vacuums.
With that said, it was a pleasant and comfortable stay. The room was spotless and the staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. I loved the ability to be able to text our requests instead of having to call. We also enjoyed the artwork on the walls in our room. We will most definitely stay at Orbit One Vacation Villages again.
One important side note. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES meet with a Hilton Vacation Club associate. Do NOT buy into the club at all! They continue to hound you incessantly to buy. We did everything to try to get them to stop and when they didn't... They called our room at 8:00 in the morning. I have absolutely nothing nice to say about the Hilton Vacation Club aka...
Read moreI booked a trip through Expedia to stay at Orbit One Vacation Villas in Kissimmee, Orlando, FL with my two small children and husband from September 6th-September 13th. We booked this hotel because our home in Miami experienced a mandatory evacuation due to us living in a flood zone. We checked into Orbit One on the 6th, but after seeing that Hurricane Irma would be affecting Central Florida as well, we decided to check out the next day on the 7th and leave the state. Since we did not expect any of this to happen and we have very little money, I tried calling Expedia to see if I would be able to receive a refund for the days/nights we did not stay at Orbit One (from the 7th-13th). Expedia stated that they had flexible cancellation and refund policies due to the hurricane, but when they called Diamond Resorts to see if they would agree to return our money, we were told that they would not do so because there is a penalty for cancellations. I am truly appalled that Diamond Resorts did this knowing full well that Hurricane Irma was going to hit FL in the next couple of days. Although the hurricane has come and gone, this is still a difficult time for my family and I as we are still displaced from our home. It seems Diamond Resorts does not care about how a disaster like this affects their customers. It warmed my heart to see all of these other big businesses trying to do their best to alleviate the stress of this situation, except you. You should be ashamed of yourselves for taking advantage of people during a disaster.
UPDATE Thankfully, Diamond Resorts has decided to...
