Me and my family are owners at Westgate Palace, unfortunately even though we are owners they were booked solid for our dates. We got offered the Westgate towers we have never stayed here before. We still had to shell out well over $800 for our stay even though we are owners. We were met with attitudes and basically got no thorough explanation Of the property. Everyone else got a huge spiel about what you can do you for free and a discount do you get in all the events happening but we got nothing except here’s your papers here are some free cookies enjoy. Then we went to our room and we opened it and we thought we were in Motel six it was absolutely horrifying and disgusting. We sat down trying to figure out what our Plan B would be since we knew we would not stay the night there. All the sudden we discovered very small of the property. We sat down trying to figure out what our Plan B would be since we knew we would not stay the night there. All the sudden we discovered very small bugs Crawling all over the nightstand and on the bed that we were laying on. We were horrified so we did further investigation and saw that the whole room was infested with small tiny bugs. We called the front desk and their response was that they would send up housekeeping to vacuum and that it’s Florida. Seriously they said it’s Florida what do you expect. Me and my family stay in Florida at least once a year and never have we had a problem at Westgate Palace with any pets or bugs. After I explained to her that we were absolutely not comfortable with staying in a room and festival bugs even if they sent want someone to vacuum they came and moved us to another room which seem to be updated and remodeled recently but still was a nowhere up to par to word a owner would expect. The pools staff and other people staying here or just uncomfortable experience we had a small enclosed patio that we would never use the bathroom door did not shut and there was simply a lot of things that did not meet our expectations. We never got good service from anyone in the building. We were disrespected multiple times on multiple occasions because of our young age and I honestly find that highly disrespectful because If I’m able to afford my vacation then I should get the same treatment as everybody else who is paying the same amount as I am no matter my age because obviously I can afford it. Never will we return to the towers even if the palace is booked we will change our dates because we have never ever ever been treated like this at the palace. I would never recommend anyone to stay here not even if they were not owners not even for a discount not even for $50 a night and less you’re OK with staying...
Read moreStayed here 2 nights in March and never again. Checked in after a long day at Disney and had to wait 30min even with just a few people in front of us and 2 receptionist. Heard them tell everyone else about the “on site” (driving distance and already closed for ordering) restaurants but not us.
Thought having a villa would be nice but Room was musty and super outdated, it was also an adjoining room with a regular interior door that did not feel safe and not only could we hear everything from our neighbors conversations to them opening a bag of chips but at one point they started smoking weed and the smell came in through the large gaps in the door! We had to put towels to block it as it was late and we really needed to sleep for the next day and didn’t want to go through moving. We were also worried about retaliation by noise if we reported them as the door was so thin and I wasn’t convinced they’d kick them out even though they have a no smoking policy. It was extremely uncomfortable being there knowing they could hear everything we did and said. Also the room across from us was slamming their door all evening.
Also had to wipe everything down as everything felt grimy and I did find a few hairs in the tub and shower. Was looking forward to the jacuzzi tub but after seeing the state of the room was scared to use it. The carpet felt like it has caked in soap and was badly stained, I had to wear my sandals around the room for the first time during a hotel stay. Found out after getting settled and undressed that there was no hot water in the bathroom sink. And no where to put a towel or your own toiletries when showering, very crappy shower head, water didn’t drain from corners. Nowhere to plug your phone near the bed. Also the curtains only have blinds and don’t close all the way due to damage, when we came back the next night we could see our bed was clearly visible from the parking lot. Also the tv kept shutting off automatically even though I wanted it on to drown out the neighbors. The light in the bathroom area was so yellow and bad I had to do my makeup in the mirror by the kitchenette.
We also ordered pizza to the room which was accessible from the lobby and we’ve done at other hotels. Was never told that wasn’t allowed. They had made them leave the pizza, which wasn’t in a bag, on a table right next to the lobby door and didn’t call up until 10min after it was delivered while we were calling the store to find out what happened so anyone could’ve touched it. Cherry on top was having to check out at 10am after clocks sprang forward. At the lobby we asked about late check out and she said there was none, then we asked the next day and she said “as of right now there isn’t any but check back tomorrow” whatever that means. All that and resort fees just cause they have basic pools we couldn’t use due to the hours. Won’t be staying at any of their hotels again. The discount I got through my company was not worth it. Thanks for the...
Read moreFor starters, we booked here because the room situation would allow the 8 people in the family to stay in a suite comfortably while allowing us to have a kitchen to possibly cook in occasionally and still be close to the parks. The screened in patio was also very nice to sit on in the evening without the problem of bugs attacking. Unfortunately that was about it for the good parts. Part of the selling point was that there would be shuttle service to the parks so we did not have to rent a car, but upon arrival we found that the shuttle service only runs 2 times per day, at 8:30 am (return at 6:30 pm) and 10:30 am (return at 10 pm), needed to be booked at least the day before because it fills up and to return you could only ride on the matched shuttle return time...so we returned by using lyft every night. At a resort of this size near the parks I would think they would have almost continually running shuttles so the guests wouldnt have to worry about rides. After that we checked into the room which did seem very nice at first and we walked over to the supermarket to have some food around. We woke the next morning and the food in the refrigerator was frozen but the ice cubes were melted into a big block. We called maintenance and they came up and fixed that later the first day. The third day we woke to a shower raining down through the ceiling into our room above the bath area. We called maintenance again and they said they would "have someone there in 30 minutes to verify there is a problem". Verify??? I think I can determine that water pouring from the ceiling is a problem. The maintenance guy was nice and immediately went to the room above to find that the tub had overflowed because the drains were clogged with mold, yet they didnt think that there was any mold in the floor/ceiling. After this they did refund us one night stay and offer us to move to a different room, but we were on our way to the park and the other rooms were probably just as bad. The next day we came back from the park and my daughter had bought a large lollipop that of course she didnt finish. We wrapped this in saran wrap and put in on the counter. Within 20 minutes there were tiny ants all over it so it was thrown away. The final straw was the 5th night when we lost power. Now I can't positively blame that on the hotel because I dont know if the transformer that blew up and caused the loss of power was on their property or an adjacent property, but we were without power for about 6-8 hours which I would think the hotel should have refunded affected people that nights stay. I dont normally write these reviews and understand that hotels can have problems and usually just try to enjoy our stay as best I can, but this was easily one of the worst hotel experiences of my life and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Especially since they ask you to buy in to their timeshares to repeat this experience...
