I was staying at an air b&b near by so after a day at Disney world where I could not bring myself to pay that much money for food, even if the stands were all open or you could actually order food without a strong data connection and a 2 year community college degree in computer operations (see my review of the Magic Kingdom) I went into shop at Publix. It was about 10:30 pm ish. The store was clean , stocked and not at all crowded. I was happily shocked at the deals and low prices, seriously, I can't get a pound of hamburger where I live without a credit report, collateral to take out a loan to buy it. I got 2 pounds of pre pattied burgers with Vidalia onions added for like $6. 2 half gallons of premium ice cream for $4. I thought I would have to ask for a shoppers card at checkout to get these deals, which would be fine but no Publix here so useless later, but the young man at checkout said no card needed, they don't have cards as the deals apply to everyone. Nice! Very democratic, Publix...hey maybe that's why they are called Publix.... it's the public's store. I just thought if that this second. Duh, Tomlinson. Anyway I was very happy and those burgers were...
Read moreI spent $250 for groceries while wecwe visiting from out of town and used my credit card to pay. I purchased some mandarin oranges which we didn't notice at the time bpurchase were mildewed. We were leaving to the airport and stopped on our way to return the rotten oranges and after waiting nearly 15 minutes was turned away for no receipt. I was offered store credit but explained we were here from out of town and leaving there is no where foe mevto use a store credit. You can go anywhere to get a refund when the food is rotten or spoiled we literally purchased Tuesday and left Thursday. You would think after paying so much for food it would be quite easy to return rotten produce but it was made real inconvenient. My next visit I'll be sure to steer clear of over priced Publix as you can buy fresh produce anywhere for a reasonable price and much better...
Read moreWe don't have Publix in the RGV in Texas. This was my first time at a Publix and it was a great 1st time. We were greeted very warmly upon entering. The store was very clean and organized. Shelves were neatly stacked. Stuff was easy to find for someone's first time. Prices are a bit higher that the WalMart or HEB but better things come at higher prices, and I didn't mind a few extra cents. Checkout was super smooth and quick with...
