I am a Comfort Inn and Suites member and stayed at this location about seven times last year. Overall, my experiences have been fine, though the hot tub has consistently been closed, despite promises it would be fixed. This time, however, my check-in experience was frustrating and disappointing.
When I arrived, the front desk employee seemed overwhelmed and unsure of what she was doing. I explained that I had paid for the room online, but she insisted on charging me again because the system showed it wasn’t paid. While this wasn’t how things had worked in the past, I let it slide. Then she mentioned a deposit, which is standard, but when I asked to split the payment—putting the room charge on my debit card and the deposit on my credit card—she flatly refused. She claimed it couldn’t be done, even though I’d done it this way at the same hotel before.
I explained I didn’t want the deposit on my debit card since it would tie up funds, but she just kept repeating her earlier statement. When I asked her to call a manager, she reluctantly agreed but came back, slammed the phone on the desk, and reiterated the same information without resolving anything. I pointed out again that this wasn’t correct, and she went back to the phone. After returning, she told me she wasn’t trained for this and didn’t like my attitude. She called the manager again, but this time refused to let me speak with them, insisting she was doing everything she could to help me.
At this point, I was completely frustrated. I told her she hadn’t actually done anything but repeat herself and argue with me. Eventually, she processed the deposit on my credit card, and—as I’d suspected all along—confirmed my room had already been paid for online.
This interaction left me questioning whether the staff at this location is properly trained. My wife wanted to leave, but since we’d already paid, I decided to stay. It feels like this location has a high turnover rate, resulting in untrained employees at the front desk who are unable or unwilling to provide proper customer service. This experience makes me hesitant to return, despite being a loyal member.
Side Note: please fix the hot-tub its been down for probably a year now. Last time I inquired I was told they was working on fixing it, however i dont see any movement on...
Read moreI have stayed in this place for probably 20 times last few years and always liked it instead of the Radisson downtown as it’s in the N Fresno area. But the last time I stayed a few months ago I parked my Audi SUV in the back lot as usual facing the door. Well guess what at 3 am the manager on duty called my room to inform me a group of guys in a car just pulled up and broke into my car smashing both passenger side windows and grabbed whatever they could as the manager saw on their CCTV and rushed out to confront them and they took off in the car. She called police and they showed up soon but not much they can do.
I had nothing in my car except one of those trunk storage containers but there was nothing inside really but in the rear seat they did take my two old CD holders which their maybe was 30 CD’s inside lol
The most valuable item was my pair of raybans that were in the front seat that they didn’t see lol thank goodness.
The next day it costed me $700 to replace both pieces of glass and since I had to wait for the mobile glass guy to come in late afternoon I ask the hotel manager if I can stay another night and get it comp since my car was broken into. The duty manager is a very nice guy but he said no at first but later he came back and said after talking to the owner they agreed to comp a night. But by 7pm the mobile glass guy finished the job and by then I had no mood to stay the night as it costed me $700! And the manger made me feel like the comp ( $65 a night) was a big deal so I just checked out and left. Never going back for sure as I asked if I can get a copy of the CCTV video and they said come back the next day so after I got the video I saw it and just was disgusted 😩. The funny thing is my SUV is 2007 and there were several cars parked next to me which were much newer than mine!! I guess at night my car still looks new lol. I have since learned that these break ins are happening more now around town so be careful where you park and make sure nothing tempting is visible as the video I viewed show the guys jump out of their car and quickly use their flashlight to scan the cars. The manager was nice enough to tell me the next time I come to called so they can reserve a nice front spot for me to park 😏but I haven’t...
Read moreAfter a long day of work, I drove my two boys down to the Kids Folkstyle Wrestling Tournament (3/14/25 - 3/16/25) from the bay area. We checked into the hotel around 10:15 p.m. and went to our room (Room 317) to unpack and relax. I than noticed that there wasn't enough towels for us, so I decided to go down to the front desk to get one more towel and look at the gym. Once I returned to the room, I could see light shinning through the door frame. I took a closer look and could see the locking mechanism (latch) from outside the room. Before I inserted the key card in the card reader I inserted the key card in the crack and manipulated the lock. It took me less than 6 seconds to open the door.
Seeing how fast I was able to open the door, I went back down to the front desk. I asked for a room change, but was denied. I was told they were all booked for the night. I stepped aside so the employee could help the next two families. Those families were able to get rooms, after I was denied a room change. After complaining about the door and what I just saw and heard with the time being approximately 11:00 p.m., Natalie the employee told me, "It sounds like you want to leave." Seeing that this wasn't going anywhere I asked for the corporate number which Natalie didn't know or knew how to get. But I was able to get the two business cards on the counter and went back to the room.
The next morning we packed our belongings and headed down to the front desk before leaving. I spoke with Andrea, who informed me that they have a room available, but the housekeeper still needs to clean it. So, really not avaliable. I told Andrea, we will take it, but we need to leave for the tournament. With that we loaded the car a headed to the tournament for the day. We paid for two nights and couldn't even leave our stuff in the hotel room.
Back from day one of the tournament, we get the new room (Room 319). Again we had another issue, but didn't notice until we where at day two of the tournament. Our phones never charged during the night. The outlets and USB outlets in the nightstand didn't charge the phones.
Lastly at approximately 3 p.m. on March 17th, I had to call the hotel and asked to take with a manager.
That's strike 3 for you County Inn & Suites by Radisson...
