Would not recommend the Vet Tech Program. The head of the program, Ms. Perez, is a cold, unhelpful, intimidating, woman with a tenderness comparable to wet cardboard. Ms. Newman, one of the teachers, is a shrill, unreliable, unfriendly woman who desires to drum you out. She's "done working at noon" and beyond recommending getting help from others is relatively useless. Strict regime policies are used to enforce their methods and beyond that it is ultimately an experience I would not recommend. They are "The Best In the Central Valley" mostly because there is no competition and by default "are the best". The program itself gets 2 stars, BUT I added an additional star because (despite it's staff flaws) you are provided with: a rolling backpack, all of your books, a few beginners medical tools, and they will also help you with the required testing to join the work force.
Beyond the vet tech program, the actual heros of the SJVC are those beyond the classroom. The counselors, the financial aid office, the front desk, the president, the head of students. I wish I could provide a separate review for them, but the school staff are the most helpful, compassionate, dedicated people you'll meet ever meet. ★★★★★ The rest of the school gets an outstanding 5 stars, going to the school and finding a program you love will be worth...
Read moreI am currently attending SJVC and I love it. Its the best I went to Community College and I wasn't going anywhere anytime soon. Sjvc makes sure you get the classes u need to get your degree and get on with your life. They even know places that will babysit while your in class. The teacher are the best. All my teachers in the criminal justice classes have more than 20 year's experience in the field or is still working. They are up to date on everything that is going on. The real great thing is the classes are 5 weeks but you only go Monday through Thursday that's only 20 times in that claas. I love it. Plus everyone at the school is nice. They all have one goal. Get out and start their career. You can walk up to anyone and just start talking. Come to the school and find out for your self. This will be the best decision...
