Underwhelming Staycation at Hall Park Hotel & Palato Restaurant
Our recent staycation at Hall Park Hotel left us feeling a bit disappointed. While the hotel is new and may just need a bit more experience under its belt, there were several areas that didn’t live up to expectations.
Valet & Check-in: The valet staff were young and inexperienced. No one opened the door for us or offered assistance with our bags, and we were left wondering if we were even being properly attended to. The front desk, though fully manned, felt the same way—staff seemed new and unsure of what they were doing. As Bonvoy members who travel frequently, we were surprised by how long it took to check in. So long, in fact, that a team member stepped in to offer us water and a glass of wine to pass the time. When I asked about an upgrade, I didn’t get an answer.
Room: The room itself was nice and clean, as expected. The bathroom was well-maintained, but we did have an issue with the motion-sensor lights. Every time we woke up in the middle of the night to use the restroom, the lights would flash on, which was quite jarring. Also, their movie rental options were marked as “coming soon,” and when we asked at the front desk, we were told they weren’t available yet.
Noise Issues: Unfortunately, the walls were thin, and we could hear our neighbors' phone conversation at 3 a.m., which isn’t ideal for a relaxing staycation.
Palato Restaurant: We were excited to try Palato, the hotel’s in-house restaurant. The staff was friendly, but the menu left us feeling a bit let down. What we saw online and on their social media wasn’t available, and our waitress explained they had changed the menu several times. While some dishes, like the appetizers, pizza, and dessert, were fantastic, the steaks were a huge disappointment. They were underseasoned, poorly presented, and honestly, we’ve had better at Olive Garden.
Pool & Amenities: We were looking forward to enjoying some time by the pool, but unfortunately, the pool bar closed at 7 p.m. We arrived just after, at 7:05 p.m., and the bartender was already unavailable to serve us. A bit of a letdown for a relaxing evening by the pool.
Final Thoughts: We did appreciate the proximity of Kaleidoscope Park, which would be a great spot for families traveling with kids. However, be mindful that walking to The Star from the hotel requires crossing a busy street. Although we had a late checkout, we ended up leaving early due to the overall experience. The hotel is still new, so with time and a bit more experience, it could become a great destination, but for now, it didn’t quite live up to our...
Read moreThis is an excellent spot that has everything you need in the hotel. The rooms are broken up between longer term suites and regular hotel rentals. I stayed at this location for a little longer than a month and I have no regrets whatsoever. Renee from the front desk was amazing. In fact, I didn't encounter a single person that wasn't overly nice. I was welcomed here with open arms regardless of pending issues in the area. The in room coffee machine is pod based and very adequate. The amenities are very nice here and you will enjoy the pool deck on the 7th floor. The location is also pet friendly and service dog friendly. When I am in need of accommodations in the area I will absolutely be staying here if I can get a decent rate. I think that is the only downside is rates can be very reasonable to extremely high depending on demand of course. The food in the restaurant is AMAZING 😍. I have tried everything on the menu and even just the plain pasta is awesome! I honestly would love to live here permanently, but that is too rich for me. This would also be a great place to stay in between building a house or purchasing etc. There is also a rotating art collection on every floor! The room attendants are also great and I loved conversing with them in Spanish, again they are incredibly friendly.
Rebecca and the front desk can assist you with longer term rentals which have better rates.
Valet might seem expensive so you can street park, but if you get a longer rental they include some of these services.
The only very minor thing on rooms is some finishing errors. In the last room I was in the shower head cover didn't completely cover the 3/4 hole as it was drilled twice. This isn't really awful stuff but is indicative of typical American construction of unskilled labor being monitored by a licensed professional. You only get as good of an outcome as put in by the skill level.
Overall this is a great spot north of Dallas!
On a side note I did walk a few miles on the main road and went shopping and picked up trash while I was walking. It's really disturbing how much trash I collected in such a posh area. Also, this ideology is Japanese and is a concept of treating your neighbors with respect. Nearly every person in Japan does this, and that is why Japan is the cleanest country I've...

From the moment we pulled up to Hall Park in Frisco, we knew this stay was going to be special. Valet greeted us with a smile, check-in was seamless, and we were welcomed with a perfectly chilled glass of white wine — an elegant touch that set the tone for the rest of our visit. For every time that we departed and returned, we were greeted with smiles and accommodating staff from the phenomenal valet staff.
We stayed in King Corner 1002, and it was nothing short of spectacular. (As a woman of God, I appreciated the biblical reference of Psalm 100:2) The suite was a blend of modern sophistication and warm comfort, with floor-to-ceiling windows bathing the space in natural light. The walk-in bathroom and rainfall shower felt spa-like, and the plush robes waiting for us were the kind you never want to take off. The hybrid mattress privately solidified my decision to remove the box spring from my personal residence.
The seventh-floor pool deck was a sanctuary — stylish, serene, and beautifully maintained. It offered just the right balance of energy and privacy, making it the perfect place to unwind before heading out into the city.
Breakfast was an event in itself. The sunrise omelette with breakfast potatoes and country bread (yes, they let you choose your artisan bread!) was perfectly cooked and beautifully plated, paired with Dickinson’s jams that gave a simple breakfast a chef’s kiss of refinement. I am southern magnolia, so I quite love when food is seasoned and cooked with love.
Every interaction with staff was thoughtful and genuine — from the front desk to the valet to the breakfast team. The entire experience felt curated and intentional, a reminder of what true hospitality can be.
If you are looking for a place in Frisco that makes you feel celebrated, cared for, and refreshed — Hall Park is the destination. Suite 1002 has officially set the bar for future stays.
All the best, safe travels, and enjoy your stay with some of the best in the game! (I wasn’t sure if they wanted their names mentioned; I did not acquire permission. If that should change through consent, I’ll definitely edit my review!)
