My friend suggested Eqqsquite Cafe for brunch this past weekend. It is located conveniently off of Warren and the Dallas North tollway near the Star.
Walking into the restaurant I was immediately struck with the quiet elegance of the decor. They certainly had thoughtful touches throughout but it wasn't too much. As a designer, to me, that is the first step, always.
They used faux greenery for moments of color and collaboration throughout the space which I appreciated. The overall tone of the restaurant is cool and white, the walls, the tables. It had a very fresh appeal. Nice gold hanging pendant lighting.
We met for a late brunch, around 1:30 on a Sunday afternoon and were sat right away.
Looking at the menu at first, we did not know if Mimosa was available or not. We are definitely of the mindset that a brunch is not complete without mimosa. We actually even talked about staying if they did not offer them. To our great pleasure, we saw another table being served flutes, very much looking like a champagne drink.
After a substantial wait, our waitress checked in with us and assured us that yes mimosas were available and were on the way. They were served warm which was a bit strange so we did add a bit of ice, that felt pretty sacrilegious to me.
The menu offerings were what you would expect of a brunch place, omelettes, skillets, waffles etc. We both opted for a skillet, I tried the Santa Fe and my friend tried the Eggsquisite skillet. We both opted for a side of fruit. My friend was picking out the large chunks of roasted red peppers in her meal, she thought that it did not compliment the variety of ingredients in it. I thought the Santa Fe was quite tasty but the fresh jalapenos were very spicy and I ended up picking out most of them. The fruit was a bit firm, was a variety of cantaloupe, pineapple and honeydew.
We stayed for a while and chatted and noticed them pushing the bill, we did then realize they closed at 3:00 so finished up our drinks and moved on to our next destination.

Read moreSurprised how good this place actually was! There are several eggy, breakfasty places around Frisco and we seem to want to try them all. This one has a strange gray and white color scheme that might work okay in a modern or transitional kitchen on an HGTV show but it comes off cold and odd in a restaurant decor situation. I am not a fan of how it looks inside. The staff is another story. These folks are all well-trained and do everything by the book, carefully handling situations with ease. From people trying to do the self-seating thing to wanting to chat about sensitive political issues to making their food order a bit complicated, these employees handle it all with aplomb. Impressive! We tried the avocado toast with salmon and also an omelette with veggies. They were both great choices. I never ate another meal that day because I was so full! Also had their coffee and it was fresh and steaming hot. Nice that on the table they had both plain and flavored creamers for the coffee. Our server checked back with us often. And none of the servers let dirty dishes pile up on any tables. They worked together as a team and seemed to integrate helping each other as a natural thing to do. I liked seeing this seamless cooperation in action.
As for menu items, they have plenty of choices on the menu, from sweet to savory breakfast items and also burgers and sandwiches for lunch. A perfect choice for families, meeting friends for a meal, and for seniors. They have both tables with chairs and comfy booth seating. Plenty of parking in front of the restaurant. I...
Read moreFirst time visiting here and the food was pretty good. Waitress was not that great, took the tables order and didn’t stop back to ask how things were or anything. Another waiter though did quickly ask how thing made were but by then most of the food was gone already.
The food was good, good taste and presentation was very nice. Only downside I can say is that like other reviews mentioned….. some of the food was dare I say cold? Not sure how that happens but the eggs were cold. Almost sent them back but since the waitress never came back until giving the bill, that wasn’t even an option. 😞
I would go back in a heartbeat though. The food was really good and if something is cold then find any staff to get it fixed.
Wait time was about 30min but not that bad considering the time (Sunday noonish). Lots of options and things I want to try here so the cold eggs will not stop me from returning, however if things are not near perfect next time I go here I may just scratch this off my list. Not sure why there were so many reviews on cold food, I would think they have heating lamps to keep stuff semi warm. My eggs were not even that sadly otherwise I wouldn’t be going on about it. 😂 I am not a professional cook, but the eggs should have been last thing on the plate.
Room for improvement! Worthy of a second chance for...
