We booked the private room here and while the food was good, it was quite a terrible experience. Everything went fine with booking, we booked 2 months out, we confirmed again 3 days before that everything was set. Was told via email by the event coordinator that we were confirmed. We receive a call about an hour before our reservation from the restaurant of them apologizing saying they aren’t sure what happened but they double booked the room and we’d need to be moved to the main dining space. Considering how much communication we had about booking the space, this was quite a shock and just absolutely unacceptable, especially coming an hour before our reservation time. After some back and forth about what could be done, the restaurant did do some digging and said we gave our credit card info first so they said we’d be in the private space as planned and they moved the other people out.
Given all of that, I really expected a manager to come in and speak with us when we got there to apologize for the confusion and unnecessary stress. No one came to talk with us (until we later had to ask for a manager for something separate). We waited about 30 minutes and no one came to take our drink order. One of us had to actually walk out of the room to find someone to come take the order. Given us being in the private room we did have a pre fixed food menu. We ordered our main course during the first appetizer and it took well over an hour for the main course to come out to us. Once the food did come out, we had one meal missing for about 5-10 minutes after everyone else got their food. When this meal did arrive it was a steak supposed to be cooked medium. It was completely bloody so we sent it back. Waited another 10 minutes, came out a little better but still pretty bloody. So we told them to not worry about bringing it out a 3rd time and to comp us. We got push back from the waitress on this saying that wasn’t possible since it was a set price. This is the point when we asked for the manager to come in.
When it was time for dessert (which we also had ordered 2 hours previous at this point with the main meal), they brought out everyone’s dessert except one person and said they ran out of that dessert. After everything else that happened that was extra unpleasant since it was ordered quite some time previously.
While the evening did end with the manager comping quite a bit of the meals and we are appreciative of that, this was just not a great experience. I definitely expected more from this restaurant as I had heard good things and a higher level of service for being in a private dining space. I’m giving 2 stars because the food was good, but the service was...
Read moreFor anyone wanting to reserve a large group party at Lombardi's beware! The experience I had was not good. Up till the day of my husband and his twin brothers birthday everything seemed great. The communication with the assistant manager was good and all details were confirmed. All that changed the day of the event. I arrived at the restaurant earlier in the day to drop off balloons, cake and decor for the table. I had specifically asked the manager on duty to make sure the decor and balloons were on the table by 7:45. He ensured me they would. The reservation was for 8pm that day and guests were arriving at 7:45 since it was a surprise party. On my way to the restaurant with my husband and his brother, one of my guests had texted me stating the table was not ready and the balloons were not to be found. He was kind enough to handle the situation with the manager on duty. When we arrived, I noticed the table was not where they had told me it would be and none of the decor was on the table. Fine not a big deal. However the service was horrible. My girlfriend had ordered a glass of wine and it took almost 30 minutes for her to receive it. I had to hunt down our waiter a few times to order more drinks and we didn't get our first course till an hour after we being seated. Come 10pm, one of my guests said she had to leave to pick up her daughter and couldn't wait any longer for our main course. Her husband asked the waiter if they would be kind enough to not charge me the plate of food since she never received, he said "yes". Come 10:15 we finally got our food. Some of the plates were warm, chicken was dry and steak plates were not good. When they brought out the cake I had noticed that only 4 candles were placed on the cake, instead of the full box I had given them as well. Once I received the final tab from the waiter I noticed there was not a detailed receipt with it. The next day I texted the manager asking for one. She did and I noticed they charged me my girlfriends plate plus 2 more. I asked her if she would kindly call me to discuss the charges, she said she would. 2 days later I still have yet to receive a call. I texted her asking her to call me. Instead of a call she sent me an email stating she would not refund me and to be understanding of the contract. I did respond to her simply asking them that if they were not going to refund me then at least give my the 2 plates of food I had paid for which was $95 a plate plus tax and gratuity. No response from them. I am one to never write reviews but I felt compelled to write this one. If you are going to be in the service industry then do the right thing and ensure a good...
Read moreWent there on a Saturday night. Got a reservation for 4 people at 9:00 pm.
I will touch on 5 main critiques for restaurants: 1. service. 2. ambience. 3. Cleanliness 4. food quality & a new one: 5. safety or location.
0 stars means failure and 5 stars is the best.
With regards to service, the waiter, his name is Stefano, request him if you can, he is excellent. the service we received was 5 stars all the way. Great experience. the Waiter was ver attentive.
Ambience: WOW, this place is so amazing. There was live music and it was at a perfect dB level. not loud like a nightclub. IT has the ambience of being in a high class restaurant. Decorations, paneling, chandeliers. etc. the interior decor is amazing. the bar layout is also very nice. 5 stars.
Cleanliness: another 5 stars. this place is spotless. Floors, walls, etc.. all were clean. So were the bathrooms.
Safety and location: another 5 stars. Well, it is at the Star in Frisco.
FOOD QUALITY: this is where I am really disappointed. we ordered appetizers and salads. the bread will set a bar. the bread basket had a variety, but one of the breads was burned with grill marks. Now if you butter up or oil up the bread before placing it on a grill, this is ok, dry bread, once placed on a grill, the burn is real, and the burn taste is real. never can dry bread burn taste good. it is, unpalatable, in fact, it can change the taste of everything else. I drank some whiskey after the bread hoping to change my palat.
The caprese salad and the casear salad were both amazing. Very good.
The disappointment was more when I paid for the Filet Manzo and got a steak that would not even be served at a Texas Roadhouse or a Saltgrass. That steak would be like one you get at a Dennys, meaning, the quality. Was horrible. I went across the street few weeks prior and ate at the Dee Lincoln Prime, and that was one amazing steak. Better than Nick and Sams or a Ruths Chris.
In any event, other members of the party had the shrimp and both times, undercooked. Was horrible. The pasta was good.
I would go there again and sit at the bar and have an appetizer and drinks, but for a main course dish, I would be leary. Nice place though, real shame the food does not match...
