Ocean Buffet — Restaurant in Gainesville

A group of friends and myself came in after a nice day in the area only to have it unfortunately ruined by our experience at this buffet. To start, our waiter only spoke to us a single time which was when we were seated and we were asked what we wanted to drink. After this point, our waiter never interacted with us, and never looked at us or acknowledged us. The waiters were constantly reaching over us and onto the table to attempt to retrieve plates that we were still eating and weirdly rearranging stuff on the table without saying excuse me or even looking at us. While we were eating we were constantly being stared at. After being there for about 20 minutes, the waiter came and tried to hand us the bill whilst we were still eating with forks in hand; she hovered over us waiting take our cards and returned with the receipt and hovered over us waiting to sign it. We were planning on tipping in cash after we were finished and wanted to wait for the table to be clean before we placed cash down. The waiter seemed unhappy that we did not put a tip on the card and brought her manager over to CONFRONT us over the fact that we did not tip on the card, telling us “it wasn’t included” and then staring at us, while we were still trying to eat. Needless to say, we did not tip after this incident, and this seemed to displease the waiter even more, causing her to shout in foreign language before flinging the bill and pen across the table. The whole experience felt extremely uncomfortable and unprofessional.

If the manager responds saying this incident did not occur, it’s likely because she was the one rudely demanding we tip before we could even finish our meal. Incredibly unprofessional and displeasing considering the food was okay, some of the sushi was clearly old and some hot food was unseasoned but other than that...

Let me tell you something, you want to come here. Seriously more bang for your buck then you can imagine. This was my very first time here with my father Cleveland senior and wonderful guests. So here everything is DIY, serve yourself, help yourself, get more all by yourself LOL. The staff were constantly but not irritatingly, making sure everything was perfect. I appreciate that. The food was excellent every kind of eats and the lights and, they have orders they can personally cook for you absolutely free. No charge whatsoever. Raw or cooked? Whatever your taste buds. This place is located in Gainesville Florida. I have not visited the Ocean buffet here in Miami yet. I intend to. If you go? They have plenty of parking. And are waiting for you to come and eat your next size up.. 😂 Oh you will get stuffed with delight. Ice cream, jello, crabs, barbecue, chicken wings, lasagna, squid, octopus, squamp, macaroni and cheese, several types of fish, oysters, you name it. The good part is here you can just try it and if you don't like it? Toss it.. I did see a gentleman with a plate full of clams. They have it all visit here soon as you can. Whatever location you are Google Ocean buffet. You won't regret it . Oh, they do offer a leftover or doggy bag. Of course for a small fee which is well worth it. Warning in advance, Gainesville Ocean buffet, your constant messy men's bathroom gets one star⭐, no idea how the ladies bth r is.... But, everything else there ... AND I MEAN EVERYTHING ELSE THERE.....gets five ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐.. FROM ME.

SIMPLY ... just hire a bathroom attendant. You can have the best food in the world. But when people go to wash up from the fantastic feast? To see a restroom in such disarray? Is disheartening. Needs to be cleaned...

This is got to be the worst experience I have ever had. I never right a review at a place, good or bad, but I feel obligated to save people from this place. Keep reading to to hear about the FRIED SPIDER. Before I start to bash this place, I want to say service was great. My drink was never empty, pretty much as soon as I finished my food, my plate was gone I was sat immediately even tho it was busy Saturday and I was looking for yum yum sauce for my sushi and TWO servers helped get it for me. Other than that, everything else was terrible. This place has the worst sushi I have ever had. They offer fried sushi rolls and tell why the fried roll was bland, gelatinous, and cold. All other rolls needed tons of yum yum sauce to give it any flavor. To pretty much sum it up, everything there was bland and questionable. Everything there seemed to be falling apart and/or dirty. Onto the big story! I was grabbing a cream cheese ragoon and when I turned it over, THERE WAS A FRIED SPIDER THAT WAS SIZZLED ONTO THE RAGOON!!!!! I am Christian and currently literally praying to god I don’t get food poisoning. Not only due to the spider experience, but with all the food there. Everything seemed like it was about to expire like when you decide to eat chicken that’s been in the fridge for 3 days and if you wait any longer, it’ll go bad. I’d rather eat 3 day old chicken than eat here again!! I beg you, please don’t eat here, get a Big Mac or something else. I have never contemplated throwing my dinner up after...
