Dawn Beach Condominiums — Hotel in Galveston

This was my 2nd time staying in Galveston. We usually stay in Florida, but the hurricane was sneaking up the eastern seaboard, so we changed our plans- opted for the Gulf. We arrived on a Thursday morning, and apparently everyone else did too! Crazy small parking at rental office. But, the staff was quick and courteous. Arriving at the Dawn beach condos- instantly impressed. The grounds, landscaping, pools, are well kept. Gated parking (make sure your parking permits are in your rental package envelope- they enforce towing) Our 1st floor condo was absolutely gorgeous, spotless, and tastefully updated. The owners keep the condo immaculate! Our patio overlooked one of the pools. Decor was beautiful. Modern Coastal with adorable beach touches and neutral colors. Natuzzi leather in living room, Tommy Bahama in bedroom. Even the covered patio had adorable beach themed (life guard stand) tall chairs and tall table! Granite in bath and kitchen. Upscale and perfect, for my fastidious taste. The owners had everything you could possibly need/ want just like home. I was able to iron my clothes each evening before going out to dinner. They even had beach chairs, and boogie boards. They had a full working kitchen, full size stainless appliances including microwave. Cabinets stocked with every pot, pan, kitchen gadget. Beautiful white China plates, flatware, glasses, and mugs. 2 coffee makers- A Keurig single serve, and a 12 cup carafe. They include a startup set of the cleaning essentials. But, we purchased trash bags, dishwasher tablets, extra paper towels, tissues, and toilet tissue, shampoo & conditioner. (just in case) Oh, and we purchased clothes detergent- they had full size washer and dryer. FULL SIZE.🤗 Not the tiny apartment stackable that only fit 2 pair of jeans. 😊 The beach is right across the seawall, it was wonderful no car needed. We walked to the beach every day. The rental company also included information (extra fee) for in home massages, concierge service, and a few other "vacation pamperings". I loved EVERYTHING about this condo, except leaving. 💙😐 I will add more pictures soon. **P.S. this was my 1st time using the app VRBO, it is flawless. The first thing I must say is $60 for parking two cars for two days is just ridiculous. Okay, unit 916 was clean and nicely appointed. The location of unit is perfect;  with direct access to the pool, grills and the beach.  The condos  are right next to Walmart and within walking distance to eateries and shops. The unit had a strong mold smell.  I was provided with a dehumidifier at my request.  We emptied the dehumidifier four times from 5pm Saturday to Sunday night.  The dehumidifier was full again upon our departure Mondy at 10am. There is a serious moisture issue but no visible signs of moisture or water damage. There was a rag left on the TV stand in the living room and the window blind leading to the patio had a broken blind. The welcome card left for us said the unit was checked for quality  assurance the morning of our arrival.|You mean to tell me the person inspecting the unit didn't smell the mold in the unit?  Air quality checks need to be added to the list of items checked during inspections. We woke up Sunday morning to an ant infection.  I requested an exterminator.  The maintenance team sent someone to spray the windows and doors,  inside and outside. We stayed in unit 834 - a FANTASTIC unit. The owners took great care in providing a welcoming and peaceful environment. Truly appreciated the consistent decorating around a beach theme and the beach chairs, beach towels, beach bag, etc. as it made the trip so much easier. The complex is fabulous as well as are the employees in the HOA office where you register your car and get your pool passes. Cannot say enough about this place and the employees.|I would've given 5-stars for the rating had it not been for the rental company we used. We rented through Ryson Vacation Rentals which is affiliated with / ownder by V Trips. We were locked out of our unit for about 40 minutes as the code they provided did not work. After 2 phone calls while standing outside the door of the unit, we were able to get a new code via text. Then we realized that we did not have towels or toilet paper in the master bathroom. I called the number provided a few times before being able to connect with a live person. I was told we would have everything by Noon the next day. We did not. So I called, texted, and emailed. No response. I then walked to Ryson the next day and was finally able to get someone's attention and the items were delivered that afternoon.|In short, DEFINITELY stay in this unit.
