I’ve had some really great experiences here & some mediocre ones but as I write this, I have just had the worst experience I have ever had at a fast food restaurant.
Until this experience, I was actually going to write a review highlighting how I think it’s so awesome that usually the drivers here are wearing skates; which I don’t see often anywhere!
I have visited this location 10 times, for at least a drink, over the past month or so. Today, I placed an order on the app & pulled up to #30, which is uncovered facing the beach. I put the stall # in the app. It occurred to me that there may be sauce on the item I ordered so I pushed the button to ask them if they hadn’t made it yet, if they could please make it without sauce.
Someone answers & immediately says, “Please pull around to a stall that is covered.” I began to say that I wanted to make a modification to an order I just placed but realized no one was there anymore, she had cut the mic feed. So I push the button again to ask why I need to pull around & try to start to explain but someone else answered & says because it’s raining. I pulled around.
Now I’m at #20 and I push the button. The employee says she can’t hear me. I try to explain again, she says she still can’t hear me. I say I’m basically yelling now so if she can’t hear me it’s their system & may I please speak with a manager. Within a minute, someone who says they’re a manager comes out w/another employee & begins to hand me my food. I start to try to explain that I was trying to see if I could get a slight modification to my order but now I see it’s already made. She says they don’t do modifications on app orders. I also ask why I had to pull around when there is another car that was maybe 3 cars down that I literally saw receive food when I pulled up. She says they are an employee & didn’t receive food (I later saw her bringing back a tray from that car so I guess that wasn’t true). I told her I saw someone bring food with my own eyes. The “manager” misleads me & doubles down on her original statement while I also told her I haven’t seen anyone on skates, including her & the person bringing my order. So they had me pull around for no reason.
The fact is, it is not raining & it hasn’t rained a drop this morning or afternoon. I drive over to the beach side to try to enjoy my meal but I couldn’t and I’m writing this instead. There hasn’t been a drop of rain & there have also been several orders delivered with employees in shoes, not on skates.
So this “manager” tells me to stop yelling as I’m explaining everything and I tell her I’m not yelling and take a deep breath. I mean I was just basically yelling through the microphone because they said they couldn't hear me and I told them so & that’s when I had asked for a manager in the first place.
Then this whole situation gets worse - she tells me to take my food and not to come back to this location!!! Like what in the actual world is going on?!?!?! I just purchased a place in the area & now because of them arbitrarily telling me to move to another location & me asking about it, and I guess asking about an order modification - they are telling me not to return???? I try to tell her that I’m new to the area & have already been a loyal customer - but she just walked away.
At the beach to try to get my positive vibe back but can’t shake this feeling. I’m the last person to think that someone is discriminating against me but I think that may be the case here because I didn’t do anything to deserve to be treated basically like garbage by the staff at this location. This whole situation blows my mind.
As I sit here finishing up this review, two more cars are in the uncovered spots - maybe spot #29 & #30. What I do know is they have been there for at least 10 minutes and no food has been brought out but they evidently haven't been told to go elsewhere.
Everyone is usually friendly but this was jarring.

Read moreThis was by FAR the WORST sonic experience Based on other recent reviews it seems our experience was a common thing. 1st when taking our order the person just disappeared. We had to hit our button again to finish our order. We had 4 combos and a chili cheese coney with NO bun. The lady comes out with just TWO bags. We knew from jump street something was wrong. Upon reviewing our order and asked her to wait because we wanted to check the bags (she doesn't but doesnt hesitate to swipe our card). They had given us our burgers, my coney, and wings but they were for some reason in two containers. So we explain we didn't get any of our fries, tots or the cheese tots. The carhop asked to see our receipt (that she had in our hand since she just ran our card) but we still showed. We were told the cheese fries were in the bag. They were NOT and said she could check our car. There were two containers of wings and one bunless coney but zero tots and zero fries. Now GOOD customer service would be to fix the order. PERIOD. But no, they wanted to argue. Saying they "looked" at camera footage. Well if you did you would have saw someone loading two containers of WINGS and ZERO tots. We even GAVE them the wings they gave us instead of tots And now your calling us lairs when you're the one lying. The lady says look we just want to go home. I said so do we. We're just asking for our food or you need to give us our money back. They then brought us JUST fries but not my husbands tots OR the cheese tots we ordered and mind you paid for. We give it all back Nad the wings and explain look we didnt get tots youbgave us this and still that did make these idiots see their own mistake! My husband had to get out of our car and demand a manager for us to at least get our money back for the food we were NOT provided. Which they finally did after 11:30pm (they closed at 11 mind you) and we had been there since 10:30pm. I have never been more insulted in my life. You messed up the order and then wanted to STEAL from me and thought we would be okay with it? No thank you! I will be reporting your location and they need to be looking at better management and their team at this location because based on other reviews we are not the only people this location has tried to rip off. Read moreWe just came through the driver through and ordered 2 shakes, and chili cheese tots. One shake taste like vinegar, and my guess is way too much cheesecake flavor, it is completely inedible. The other is just a vanilla shake with some crumbled Reese’s on top, instead of a Reese’s pieces shake. The chili cheese tots have burnt pieces in it and the tray wasn’t even full!
They repeated our order back to us right, got it wrong at the window, we corrected them nicely and then got horrible product. Shouldn’t be surprised with all the hooting, hollering and cussing in the back though. They said they were just playing around but our order is horrid. I gave my husband my shake since his taste of vinegar.
My husband travels all over TX. OK, LA, and AR for work and this is the WORST we have ever experienced at a sonic. Surprising for such an iconic destination Spot for many. We were just looking for a little pick me up before cooking dinner on our honeymoon and instead all we got was a huge let down. We want our money back.
And now my husbands stomach hurts on our honeymoon. Thanks for nothing.
Went back, almost the workers except the manager were outside. After we gave our grievances the manager didn’t even take it seriously. Addem who made the shake and was being rowdy laughed at my husband and walked away. The girl claimed we just didn’t like it and didnt know but he gets that exact shake twice a month as a dietary treat all over the states he travels, so he knows what it’s supposed to taste like. They refused to give a full refund. Said we ate 90% of the order but all I had was 3 tots, 2 sips of the fowl shake, and half the other topped vanilla shake.
