I’ve been coming here for almost a decade and there are no words to describe how great the food is. This a is a small family owned restaurant with an amazing staff. The owner greets her customers with a smile. Just be patient with them. It’s all owned and operated by family members and when they are busy it’s a by slow but it’s definitely worth the wait. Stop in early before the rush and they’ll take great care of you. I recommend the surprise burrito. They have an off the menu pork chop plate and I’m in there so often that they bring me my drink without having to order and they place my favorite which is the pork chop plate. When I bring guests with me they get a bit surprised that the family there knows my favorite dish. I love this place and please stop by and say hi to Trish and her mom. Trish’s daughter will also take great care of you. I would rate this place 100 stars if it...
Read moreThe ambient is very friendly as soon as you first walk in. They attend to you immediately. Took us a while for us to choose between if we could do breakfast or lunch since we arrived around 1030 and lunch starts at 11am. One of us opted for a breakfast burrito which was more of a very large taco. It was a very thick flour tortilla. And she got full with just half of it. 2 of us ordered the mixed fajita quesadilla which was 2 flour tortillas with melted cheese, chicken and beef. They were fulfilling. We only were able to eat half before we were full. We decided on taking this food to go. I would put this restaurant more as a tex Mex type food. Everything was clean, people were nice and...
Read moreI remember way back in the early 2000s when I worked in Galveston, and I ended up finding this charming little place full of locals. I stopped in there weekly and would get those delicious breakfast burritos filled with bacon, egg & cheese on the softest tortilla! The lady who ran this restaurant was so nice, too. I think she might've been the daughter of the owner, if memory serves. Anyway, I started to become a regular until I ended up transferring with my job and moving away from the coast. I'm so happy to see El Jardin is still open and survived those awful storms! Maybe one of these weekends, I can take a little road trip back down to Galveston and hit them up for one of their...
