Terrible! We were a party of two, my friend and I. Saturday night. There were plenty of tables available, yet they took over ten minutes to seat us. That's fine, we said. Once we're seated, they bring us our drinks and pita bread. We ordered one filet mignon sautéed, vegetarian dish, and fries. The veggies were brought out instantly. The steak & potatoes never did, though. 10 minutes went by, nothing. 20, nothing. Then, 40 & that's where we drew the line. Mind you, there were two big parties seated besides us (about 5-8 people) and their food came out in less time than ours; mind you, we saw their meals included meats and rice, food that would take equally long to prepare. And it wasn't one plate or two for those tables, it was four or five plates. While our one steak simply never came out. We decided to pay for what we had consumed & leave, as we were running late. We asked one server, and he defensively told us he couldn't help us. Disappointing! Two more servers and no one would charge us. Finally, our server-sofia-arrived & asked what was wrong. Mind you, we never raised our voices nor insulted nor displayed any rude behavior during this unpleasant interaction. We told her we had to leave & simply wanted to pay for what we had consumed & that our food was taking way too long to come out. She kept telling us our food was ready. Well, if it was ready why wasn't it on our table?! She disappeared to the back for a few minutes. At this point, my friend and I were ready to leave without paying because they wouldn't charge us & we really were running late. But we didn't want to, because that's stealing, so we waited. Sofia appears with a bag of food and tells us it's our order & we don't have to pay for it as it's on the house. She tells us she's going to speak to the manager so we can pay only for what we consumed. The charges look fine, we pay, and we head out. When we arrive at our destination, we check the bag. Even more disappointment awaited us in there: the bag did not contain ANYTHING that we ordered. My filet mignon was not there nor were my friends fries. All they packaged was a TON of hummus, pita bread, and undercooked hard rice. All things we did NOT order. All I can say is: DON'T CONSUME HERE! As you'd be abetting this abhorrent behavior. We were very polite when they showed disregard for us. All customers matter and this restaurant does not seem to believe that. Have a great day and thanks for reading this...
Read moreSorry to say but we did not have a good experience as I was looking forward and my expectations were high due to the high ratings this restaurant has and the fact that I saw this restaurant on a Netflix video. I was expecting a very good culinary experience truly to Lebanese and Armenian roots. We traveled for 45 minutes for this meal and went for lunch on a Saturday. From the time we arrived I started to have a feeling that it was going to be rough.. we were assigned a table fairly quickly but we were given just 2 menus and we were a party of six. I think the person at the booth never stopped talking on the phone and just pointed to a nearby table, no greeting, a total lack of attention. We almost had to beg for additional copies. For the next 10 to 15 minutes nobody, nobody approached our table, like we did not existed. We had to wave our hands to get the attention of a waiter. Finally someone came and served us drinks. We had to wait at least 10 more minutes for someone to take our order. Hummus arrived fairly quickly and was the highlight of the meal. Pita bread was as simple as it gets. We ordered 3 other appetizers including falafel that took at least 20 more minutes (20 minutes for falafel and fried burekas???). The main course, mostly shawarma, kebabs and other dishes i consider VERY QUICK to assemble took at least 30 more minutes and our waiter had the guts to tell us that these dishes "normaly take 20 to 30 minutes", for shawarma and kebabs?at the very least, he should have been apologetic. Rice pilaf served with our main courses looked and tasted as parboiled rice (and I thought parboiled rice was an American invention). Very embarrassed with my family as I was the one who choosed the restaurant. Perhaps next time if there will be another chance, we should go with a known friend of the owners or a local who is a frequent customer. Perhaps then,, we will get attention and...
Read moreToday, on December 31,2024, we chose Carousel Restaurant in Glendale for a special New Year’s Eve dinner with our family, expecting a memorable experience. While the food and atmosphere initially met our expectations, the service took a turn that left us deeply disappointed.
We arrived at 5:30 PM, and everything started off well. One of the waiters was very friendly, took some pictures for us, and warmly wished us a Happy New Year.
However, about 40 minutes into our meal, the waiter brought us boxes while we were still eating, seemingly rushing us to pack our food. Despite thanking him for the gesture, we were not ready to box our meal. Shortly after, he unexpectedly handed us the bill, even though we hadn’t asked for it, which was both surprising and upsetting.
This behavior was disrespectful and made us feel unwelcome, especially as we were still eating with our children. When the waiter returned to collect the bill, we expressed our displeasure and explained that we were not ready to leave. His justification—that he wanted to leave for a different location—was shocking. If he had communicated this politely and respectfully, the situation could have been handled differently.
He returned a few minutes later to grab the receipt, tore it up, and rudely informed us that his colleague would be taking over, ending with an insincere “Happy New Year.”
Unfortunately, his actions ruined what should have been a joyous New Year’s Eve dinner. We felt rushed and disrespected, which overshadowed the quality of the food and ambiance.
We will not be returning to Carousel Glendale, and we cannot recommend it based on this experience. For a restaurant of this caliber, such unprofessional behavior is unacceptable, especially on a special occasion. We...
