It is clean , safe and newish construction. If you list the details that came in the room you would be impressed. However the reality is a bit different. A king suite with sofa and kitchen was very small. ||Yes we had a room with a king bed and a pull out sofa. It had a nice size Bath room, a dish washer, a good size small refrigerator with a usable freezer section. A nice microwave and a two pad electric stove. There are cups, plates and pans. ||What is missing? Utensils to cook with, or eat with, but most of all space. ||If you open the pullout or pull the desk out to use then you cannot walk in the room. The bathroom is a good size with a very large and open shower but only half a door and almost no water flow. ( the last part is an exaggeration but it is very low flow ). The half openness means that the shower area does not get warm and comfortable but a breeze seems to be cooling you down during a shower. |The water does get very hot, I have to give them that point. ||Our room near the middle of the building was fine on traffic noise but many people seemed to be bothered by road noise. There is construction and the trucks do make a lot of tire noise due to the very rough road, but that may get better after the road work is finished. ||The nose of the bath exhaust is never going away. That is always on and is very noticeable. Not too bad but very noticeable. ||They have a nice amount of outlets and USB sockets. ||The people working here have been very good. The front desk is not always personed but they are around and have done a good job helping when I needed something. ||The breakfast selection is lot of carbs with some eggs. It is what you expect in the COVID days. It stayed well stocked and all packaged for single use. P.S if you want yogurt, I hope you like strawberry. ||Overall if you do not spend much time in the room, and like oldish showers and you can get a good price then OK. But do not expect a Marriott experience. ||Note to the manager - I feel for you, there is not much you can do because most of the issues are built into the structure. Maybe different low flow heads and shower curtains., but whoever designed this needs...
Read moreThis was probably the most disappointing hotel stay we’ve had in the last couple years. As vivid travelers we’ve stayed in multiple different hotel chains but the only thing the TownePlace suites seems to have mastered is the art of first impression-deception. The outside of this hotel is beautiful which drew us to it over the cheaper Hilton down the way (mistake, note taken on looks can be deceiving). The lobby is also very nice but the staff is a little less than inviting. We had to pull information out of the front desk attendant and the only question we were asked is if we are only staying one night. Not what kind of bed situation or anything on price, we actually were never told a price she just asked for my ID and credit card as soon as we walked in and asked for a room. When you go to stay at a hotel, a major aspect at every other one I’ve stayed at has been cleanliness - especially with COVID - something this hotel is severely lacking. Let’s start with under the bed, there are dust bunnies, food, and a sock. Which of your reading this and have recently stayed here in room 421, I would from the looks of it you have about a solid three months to come claim it before they clean underneath the bed (maybe more). We left it there for you, your welcome. Second and maybe the most disgusting is the boxed soap - yes, the BOXED soap. The box was stuck to the holder and I knew something was fishy, I opened the box and you could tell the soap was used. It had hair, indents, and dust ingrained into it. I’ve never ran into an issue like this anywhere I have stayed to date but here’s to firsts, right? Third, I’ll make this one quick, the towels had marks on them. They seemed like they were cleaned (maybe?)but again multiple stained towels, eh. Lastly, the breakfast here is terrible. You have a choice of bagged pancakes or a bagged waffle that you can microwave or some boxed cereal or a some other little plastic bagged items. All super disappointing. We’ve made a mistake by taking the more expensive, very disappointing, dirty hotel. Do not be like us. Go to the Hilton...
Read moreThe staff were super friendly and accommodating - no issue there whatsoever. I put 2 stars for “ok” because the hotel was not very clean and we had issues with the room/s. When we first arrived I noticed the fitted sheet and a pillow case were missing, as well as a lamp. The bathroom was dirty and we were offered to switched rooms, a hassle for sure but no problem. I’m not usually one to even change rooms but I think bedding is a pretty important necessity when staying in a hotel. The next room was also pretty dirty, our feet turned black just from walking around casually/ briefly from being IN the room (we wore shoes outside of the room of course). There was a random used soap bar in the hair dryer, food or something on the walls; Then when I was walking out of room to go get dinner, there was BLOOD on the door. Basically a handprint of blood that I may or may not have touched (I was grossed out and washed right away). I sucked it up and cleaned stuff myself (didn’t ever change rooms again). The main lobby area was mostly kept clean, however I would say it was not to the standards of most hotels, you could see the marks from where they “cleaned” and it’s very questionable if the hotel owns a vacuum. Also was disappointed that there is no hot tub….(?) And again, Im not typically one to complain at all…. But, at that price - I would definitely not stay...
