DISGUSTING AND DISRESPECTFUL!!!!! Thats to say the least. We checked in on 4/22 and checked out 4/23 in this location. I had a funeral to attend and after driving 5 hours I was tired. The room was reserved a week prior. I will never do business with them again. We arrived at the hotel a little early before the funeral services I asked for early check in letting them know the circumstances and asking them could we check in early to shower and change for the services. The Front desk clerk instantly told me no that the hotel was full . When I was able to check in Rm 227 had what appeared to be menstrual stains on the sheets . There were feces stains on the shower current and walls by the hand wash and lotion. The chair in the room was nasty and stained. The staff refused to accommodate and move us to a clean room. They told me that all the rooms were book however the hotel was quiet and parking lot almost empty at around 8:30 or 9pm. The front desk clerk only called the manager who was offsite and didn't answer the phone. I was then told that by the front desk clerk that she could not do anything without her manager approval. She then gave me some extra sheets to put on top of the bedding since the sheets were stained and used. My husband and I layered the bed best we could and slept in our clothes on top of the the layered sheets with no comforter. A fresh one was not provided. We reserved a queen double bed room to accommodate us as well as our 2 small kids however , because the beds were nasty relatives that stayed nearby and had a small amount of extra room in their home came and picked up the kids . We had to stay in this filthy room bc we didn't have an alternative. Had it not been rainy and cold we would have went to our car. Also the remote did not work for the tv. I pulled the battery back off the remote and crust from the corroded batteries went flying out. The front desk clerk called up to the room and offered us 1000 points to accommodate the situation which only equates to about $5-$7. I did contact headquarters and have been working closely with them who have provided an offer of accommodation for our experience and has agreed to look in to the operation at this location however it is independently owned so I do not think that will do any good. Don't spend your money and stay in this nasty place. I was so disrespected I am a native of the city this hotel is located in and I will openly say this town has a habit of mistreatment when it comes to minorities especially African Americans. I feel because we were an African American couple little was done to accommodate the horrible experience. I do plan to continue to go over pay grades to tell my story and to make sure this treatment does not continue.
I also took a video of my husband having to cover the linens and play housekeeper but the review won't allow the upload . However I will be sending these pictures...

When walking in I was greeted by a few 2” long dead crickets at the lobby desk where I had to wait roughly ten minutes before yelling for help since there was no one to be found or a bell to gain someone’s attention. As I finally got set up and got to my room I was under the impression my hotel keys weren’t working as they took over 10 tries to register. When speaking with my friend who stayed in another room they also had the same issue where it took 5-10 tries each time to get the door open. Once I was finally able to get in I walked into an overwhelming bad small of cigarettes. The smell must have been residing in the carpet, walls and popcorn ceiling they have neglected to change for decades. On the topic of not changing something for over ten years, the comforter on my bed and tv fell in that same category. The wear and tare of the bedding offered its age. I wouldn’t have that blanket in my own home let alone make someone to pay to sleep in it. Although, the bed was comfortable watching tv was impossible. 90% of hotels offer a streaming platform on their tv instead of just cable that’s running commercials every 7 minutes. Later in my first night I find two of those same critters at the front desk in my room and Alive…. I tried to remain positive and looked forward to morning breakfast. The food wasn’t bad but I couldn’t help be disappointed when both mornings their creamer was spoiled and made coffee not an option for me. When returning to the hotel later that day I decided to get some fresh air to stay away from the smelly room and redundant tv. When finding their common area I come across the sign on the door stating the pool was closed. Instead of closing the pool they locked the door to the whole area forcing me back in my room. I decided to get a soda from the lobby and get some work done but of course their cooler was completely un-stocked and only had Fanta, Diet Coke and water. Thankfully McDonald’s is next door allowing me to go there and get something to drink. Finally coming back to my room I find two more of those critters and waited very impatiently to get out of that hotel.
Here’s the thing, I travel a lot for work and have been to more hotels than I could count. This is the first review I have ever written good or bad and that is just because I was that displeased and regretful for not choosing somewhere else. Do yourself a favor...
Read moreI’m a Spire Elite member and I have stayed at a few Holiday Inn type hotels in different cities. This hotel is nice looking and inviting from the outside and on the inside it is modern looking as well. The first thing I noticed on my way up to my
room following an easy check-in was some trim and molding
around doors etc that was loose and falling off... also the
carpet in the hallway looked dirty... upon entering my suite I
noticed the table/ desk was not clean and the carpet was dirty
and worn. Also, one of the lights on the wall above bed was
missing a nut to hold it upright and tight so it was loose and
had been for some time as the headboard was scratched from
movement of the loose light. The door leading into the
bathroom had what looked like coffee or pop sprayed onto it
from a spill or something.... the fridge needed defrosting very
badly... there was so much ice built up in the little freezer it
was not usable... lastly, the blind was worn and needed
replaced as it has some small holes in it that allowed light
through. There were no curtains so the blind was all there was
to block light....I also noticed on the last night at this hotel, I stayed three nights total, that there was lot of dried mud chunks in the front of the hotel right where you enter the
building through the main entrance , this was at 6:15 PM.
There was also dried mud in the lobby and in the elevator and even some on the second floor hallway halfway down the hall... when I left in the morning most of the dried mud chunks
was still there.... as well as a candy wrapper and empty drink container sitting on the floor of the elevator...
If the hotel was kept cleaner in the common areas and my room was cleaner I would give the hotel a higher rating....I will stay here again (and wear earplugs) and if it continues to be
not cleaned very well I will go to another hotel and stop staying at
this one.
Overall the room was nice but not the cleanest or as clean as it could be made given some more attention to detail and
effort... I was not that impressed with the soundproofing of the room as well as I could hear people talking in the hallways and outside in the parking lot from in the room....not to mention I could faintly hear snoring from another room while I was in my bathroom...
