Unfortunately this cotton patch cafe is the same as the cotton patch cafe in McKinney Texas. While the food is exceptionally good, the service is horrible and they treat their customers horribly.
So we were seated promptly, and after approximately 10 minutes a female server stopped by the table and asked if we had been helped yet. I explained we had not yet been helped and she stated I guess I will be your server then. I replied jokingly, I guess I will be your customer then.
Considering we had already been seated for a while, we went ahead and gave our drink orders and food order at the same time. The server stated she would be right back with rolls and our drinks.
After a short wait she returned with our drinks and stated the kitchen was out of rolls but she would have some soon. I then watched another server bring a second serving of rolls to the table beside me and yet another server bring rolls to another table at the front of the restaurant.
Shortly after our Meals were brought to the table including the appetiser at the same time as the rest of the food, however since we ordered it all at the same time I was not too surprised about that.
I reminded the server that we had not yet received any rolls and she stated they were still in the oven and would be right out. The server never checked on our drinks or anything else during the meal, but after I had finished my dinner, she came to the table and asked if we needed anything.
My fiance explained we had still never been given any rolls, that our meal was finished and she could bring us a to go drink and our check.
The server brought the check which I promptly paid before walking out the door.
I guess the qualifications to be a server here are breathing and walking. The leadership of this entire chain must be a joke to allow the blatant rudeness and disrespect of your customers. In these hard times I would think each customer would be precious, but obviously not at all.
I won't be back again and I'll make sure to share my experiences as much as possible.
Is it crazy to make such a big deal over some stupid dinner rolls? I say yes only because it is merely a symptom of a larger problem within this organization. Cotton Patch has ZERO love for the people who pay their bills and keep them in business.
It's horrible that a place with such great food is so horrible at...
Read moreOur lunch started off okay. With a busy Sunday crowd present the wait wasn’t long and our server came quickly to get our drink order and none of the staff seemed overwhelmed. Our server Kennedy was not very attentive to drink refills, she was not very polite, throughout the lunch. This was a special lunch for a birthday celebration and honestly it ruined the whole experience. It took three trips for her to get a Dr Pepper cake. First, she just sat a receipt on the table and assumed we were finished, politely asked for desert cake for birthday, still no refills, then she basically threw down the desert at my mom (67) today, no happy birthday no clapping nothing. Okay I get being busy but a happy birthday is not very hard to say. On top of this all, she came back with a new check and told us the manager doesn’t do free desert unless you’re a rewards member for the club. I honestly don’t mind paying for the cake but the whole attitude was such a turn off and ruined a special occasion. My hard earned money will be spent elsewhere and we won’t be going back to this location. Very disappointed as we have had good experiences here before. sent email to address below from the response made by owner, pending reply back from owner
7-19-23: Cotton patch corporate and Greenville location both reached out and showed concern and generosity to try to resolve this experience and educate their staff accordingly. I have increased my ratings based upon their response. Thank you for making it right Cotton Patch team! Be blessed.
8-9-23: Updated review to reflect most recent experience. Alihonda M made our night, she was friendly, upbeat, had a great sense of humor and did the best she could to ensure we had a good meal and good experience. Both Alihonda M. and Taylor A. would make good trainers of future wait staff. They both in my opinion should get a small raise or bonus. Because of your generosity and kindness we had totally different experience at your restaurant and will be...
Read moreI eat at The Cotton Patch frequently and have always, until recently, enjoyed great service and food. The other day, my brother and I went and ordered the grilled shrimp plate, which comes with eight or so pieces of shrimp on a bed of buttered rice, your choice of two sides, your choice of cocktail or tartar sauce, and dinner rolls. When our plates arrived, the shrimp was bare naked on the plate with no rice. Our waitress seemed hard of hearing or of comprehension, and got my brother the wrong sides. We never got our dinner rolls, and I had to practically beg for her to bring the rice, which she claimed they were running low on. When I asked about the dinner rolls, our friendly waitress explained that they were not thawed out yet, and had therefore not even been heating in the oven yet. I asked her about a price break, since we never got our dinner rolls, and she proceeded to explained that since they were "free" (included in the meal), she could only give us a price break if we applied a military discount. At this point, I was livid. When it was time to pay the check, my brother and I had to hunt down another waitress to take my card. We normally tip $7.00 each time we eat there, but that night I left her only $4.00. My friends all said I should have left nothing for a tip. They were right! The time before this, I had ordered the grilled pork chop plate, which included a side of cinnamon apples, your choice of two other sides, and dinner rolls. The cinnamon apples normally are filled to nearly overflowing in the dish, but that night, all they gave me was a spoonful of cinnamon apples. One other time, a few months ago, I noticed a dead fly on the plate my dinner roll was on. Like a fool, I kept coming back and said nothing. I gave them a chance to redeem themselves. Was it corporate greed, bad management, a snotty waitperson, or the powerful synergistic collusion of all three? They have lost me as a customer and I will...
