This is a European style hotel that caters to the yachting crowd. Lush interiors, lots of wood paneling, but no grand proportions. The Delamar is an intimate property with a high commitment to service.
Being in the waterfront, there is a lot of humidity and some of the waterlogged character of that humidity, despite air conditioning. It's worth mentioning only because it's noticeable and, given the location and age of the property, unavoidable.
The property is handicapped accessible, though it requires a lot of maneuvering in a very small elevator. The floors are staggered, not stacked, so 3 is above 1 and 2 is between them to one side. This makes for a confusing amount of stairs at first glance, but it adds a cozy labyrinthine feel to the place.
The standard rooms are cozy and very well appointed. Nightly turn down service includes chocolate. There is a 24-hour hot beverage center for espresso/cappuccino and killer hot chocolate. The front desk greets all guests with sparkling wine or beer and water.
The downstairs lounge area is unusually comfortable and the continental breakfast is sparse but includes fresh squeezed orange juice. You won't find a waffle maker or rubbery microwaved eggs. Instead, they have a modest selection of decent pastries and yogurt with fixings as well as some...
Read moreAshlie (coordinator) and staff have exceeded our expectations and made our day so magical and special. Truly unforgettable. Thank you so much for hosting us and we can’t wait to be back. All of our guests had a fantastic time and not one person left with any disappointment. I can’t count how many guests individually came to us letting us know this may have been the best wedding they’ve been to.|From vendors to managers and Michael (coordinator) made us feel so at home… and I was in awe of how well orchestrated everything was.||For me personally akbar and Angel were right by my side before walking down the aisle calming my nerves, making me laugh and grabbing me a glass of water! it will be a moment Ill truly never forget.||There was one small request I noticed that I asked to change on the menus right before the ceremony and Ashlie was able to do that for me and have everything re printed in time before sit down so seamlessly. ||The touches and care of each staff member made it the most memorable and fun - guests loved the special touch of having our signature drinks pre made to grab during cocktail hour and to freshen them up, they topped each one off with a little more fizz to make it more enjoyable. ||1000 out of 10 have...
Read moreThis is a fair and honest review. We usually frequent the West Hartford Delamar and we always wanted to visit this Greenwich location. Even though the restaurant was closed for renovations and some items were getting a facelift during the winter months, what an amazing hotel with top-class customer service. Every manager, concierge serviceman, clean staff, and host was beyond helpful/courteous during our stay. Location is on the water in a little bay with amazing views (we booked an harbor view room which also had a little Balcony) and just a quick walk to the downtown area for shopping, cafes, and restaurants. We didn’t have a chance to explore the spa, but I believe it was be the same standards as the service overall. A delightful little happy hour spread to in the evening and an amazing grab & go breakfast style in the majestic lobby in the morning. The fitness center area looked to be cleverly a refurbished corner suite that also has a steam shower conveniently accessible, along with cold mint facial towels and high quality H2O bottles. Again, the staff was top notch and we highly recommend this Delamar for a relaxing experience. We look forward to coming back in the summer when their restaurant (...
