I received a gift that didn’t fit. I brought it back to the Greenwich Ave store. They did not have the dress in stock. I tried on a similar style to check on a different size. When I came out of the dressing room I was told by the “manager” that they no longer had the dress at any location. Before I could look at blazers and tops, she handed me a receipt. I was confused as I would have taken a store credit, apparently since the item was sent from the warehouse they couldn’t give me a store credit. The dress was full price, not a sale item. The credit card that purchased the dress was credited. When I told the “manager” that it was a gift from my son and I would have chosen a different item, she said I could buy something and then get my son to reimburse. As I said the receipt was handed to me before I even had time to take a 2nd look in the store. I told her again it was gift and she said, “you said it was from your son, I buy stuff for my mom all the time that aren’t gifts”, this was said by a “manager”. I live in town and I will never go back to this store. Associate 1111 was on the receipt. Terrible customer...
Read moreI tried to return 3 items I bought at full price at another Theory story to the Greenwich avenue store today. I had the receipt and am within the allowed 30 day period. There were 2 women working at the time. The first told me my items were now 60% off and that was all she could give me despite looking at my receipt and seeing that I paid full price. The 2nd was of no more help but told me to go to the store I purchased the items at. Neither truly tried to help they preferred to make me wrong for trying to return items to a store owned by the same company. I am appalled at the lack of training and the fact that neither woman could think of someone to call for help and they had no manual to refer to.
First I would recommended NEVER buying Theory clothes at full price - the will be 60% off in 2 weeks and 2) avoid the company boutiques and stick to department stores where they understand customer service.
In today’s day and age when customer service is so important and computers can be programmed to drive cars there is no reason I should have been turned away and turned...

I was wearing a pretty silk skirt and the women came up to me and said “I bet I got that skirt for 200$ less at urban outfitters.” Today went in and the second I walked in asked if I was vaccinated even tho we were both wearing masks. Then called my mom “anorexic looking.” Never going to this...
