Overall 5 stars: Hands down the best luxury pet friendly hotel in Waikiki! From the exceptional service to the personalized details that made my stay an unforgettable one.||||Service 5 stars: Upon arriving to the valet, we were met with warm greetings and had our bags unloaded by the guest service team. We were then escorted to the elevators that took us to the front desk. We were greeted with refreshing cucumber mint water and pineapple and star fruit jelly candy. Once we were checked in, our bags were on the same elevator going to our room. No waiting around for our luggage. Upon entering our room we discovered a special and personalized experience. There was a "Happy Birthday" Brownie in the refrigerator and plushy stingray for the little ones. There was also a dog bed and dog bowls already in the room for our dog. There was also a box of Beach Brittle and souvenir Ka La'i water bottles.||||Amenities 5 stars: Our room had spectacular floor to ceiling window views of the ocean and the Waikiki coastline. The balcony had glass railings that made it safe for our little dog to go out on. Full kitchen with Wolf appliances and an enormous refrigerator. There was also a Nespresso machine that my wife used daily. The luxurious amenities also included a deep soaking tub with a window that could be opened toward the master bedroom. There was a separate shower that had the best water pressure. All in an Italian marble bathroom. The toilet seats were heated and had a bidet. There was also a washer and dryer in the room which made it convenient. There are many more that there is not enough room to list them all.||||Location 5 stars: The Ka La'i is right across the street from the beach and the walk is a beautiful and short one passing the US Army Museum. There are many great places to eat and shop within walking distance of the hotel. I would say all within a 5 to 10 minute walk of the hotel. If you are staying with your pet, there are grassy areas all around the hotel and a nice park to take a walk in across the street.||||Cleanliness 5 stars: This is a big one for me. From the Grand Entrance to our guest room, everything was spotless. I can't stand rooms that were not cleaned properly. The cleaning staff were very pleasant and helpful, asking if we needed anything, anytime we passed by them. And they all did so with a smile.||||This is our favorite hotel to stay at in Waikiki and we will definitely be back there soon. If you want an unforgettable experience in Waikiki you have to stay at...
Read moreFrom the time I first booked and communicated with the staff I know I would have an amazing stay but not until my arrival and the 3 subsequent days being there did I truly know what a special hotel this was and it’s people set it apart - kudos to all the team we interacted with - mahalo, and also to the leadership team that provided the training and support that has enabled the team to care so much of the guest experience. First, the hotel is under renovation - and to those reading means little to nothing of the experience, the areas undergoing work our artfully covered and without signage apologizing for the work I would have no idea it’s going on - bravo for the lack of disruption to guests and while the property is already amazing I can’t wait to go back to experience the enhancements. The gentlemen at check in was more than welcoming and went through my Amex FHR benefits for my two rooms (and I feel that I received true value here as opposed to other hotels) and also bell and valet were engaging and I felt my business was truly appreciated. The team at the restaurant and bar was always lovely whether it was breakfast or an amazing mai tai at the bar - thank you! The amenities for local chocolate, to cookies and prosecco on top of complimentary bottled water and our wonderful room upgrade made for a truly memorable stay. I feel terrible but the gentleman working the pool this past Wednesday to Friday was truly remarkable. He took his job so seriously and wanted everyone to have an exceptional time. He embodied true hospitality from setting up pool chairs, to taking orders, to running drinks to you in the pool and greeting every guest that arrived - someone I would definitely love to have the privilege to work with and it seemed like he did all this while training another team member. His aloha spirit will always be remembered, truly appreciated. Lastly, my 1:30 flight was delayed until 11:30pm and they gave me a 9:00pm check out complimentary, I would never expect this but completely wrapped up what I would easily say is my best hotel experience ever. While I don’t hold Hilton in very high regard, this hotel should be a training ground for how all the properties operate and should be rewarded for changing my mind and referrals to others of how I consider the brand. ...
Read moreKa L’ai Waikiki Beach, a part of Hilton’s premium LXR collection, is an exceptional place to stay in Honolulu, conveniently located within walking distance of the beach, luxury shopping, and a variety of dining options. Ka L’ai rises above the melée of the city both, literally, as one of the tallest buildings in Waikiki next to the relatively placid Fort Derussey Beach Park, but also, by providing, an elevated luxury experience that stands out above other options in Waikiki.||||We were impressed by the spacious suite at Ka L’ai with its full kitchen and sizable living room area. Of course, we also appreciated the large bathroom tub, perfect for soaking. Our balcony and windows provided beautiful views of Diamond Head and Waikiki Bay. We felt like we were on top of the world with glorious views of the skyline, the feeling of being above the bustling city below, and wonderful views of the sunrise over the ocean.||||At In-Yo Café, we started our day right with a gourmet breakfast featuring traditional breakfast fare alongside Hawaiian favorites like spam and tropical fruit. We also enjoyed a fantastic dinner at Wai‘olu Ocean Cuisine, certainly one of the premier dining spots in Honolulu. Our appentizers included a wonderfully innovative crab crepe in curry sauce and a flavorful pear brie and macadamia nut flatbread. Our main courses included the miso roasted black cod and the daily special—a roasted duck with couscous and a citrus salad. We recommend dining on Fridays to view both the sunset and the weekly fireworks show at the nearby Hilton Hawaiian Village resort.||||A true Hawaii experience must include some time in the iconic Waikiki neighborhood. We enjoyed shopping, strolling the beachwalk, lounging on the sand, and dipping our toes in the water. We also hiked Diamond Head for wonderful views of the city and the entire east side of O’ahu (reservations required). Ka L’ai is also a great base for excursions to other parts of O’ahu whether exploring KoKohead and the gorgeous Wamanalo Beach or adventuring to the North Shore.||||Of course, we were sure to sample the Waikiki nightlife, dancing well into the early morning before retiring to the quite and plush comforts of our Ka L’ai suite. Ka L’ai is the perfect place to allow you to both enjoy and retreat from the...
