G Willikers Toy Shoppe — Local services in Hood River

While wandering around Hood River my wife and I discovered this wonderful toy shop! When walking in you are greeted by all of your dearest childhood memories available for purchase! As my wife and I browsed through the store we found the number and style of toys available to be great. They had toys the could literally appeal to any age. They have a fantastic selection of legos. It looked like most of the popular sets are available. I also enjoyed seeing the same Jack in the Box that I had when I was a kid. Downstairs they had a great variety of board games in a solid selection of children's books. On this particular day it was neighborhood toy store day and they had free donuts, cookies, and prize giveaways. I had the option of either a $20 lego sets or play horse hoofs from fat brain toys. As a big fan of fat brain toys, I got the horse hoofs for my kids. This place is awesome! I look forward to stopping here each time we are driving by. You should definitely check it out! Rude employee who "loves to cause problems" with customers. My sister and I brought our niece and my daughter for a fun shopping spree here. We walked in from the busy street and having been there before, were focused on not having the 2 year old bolt for the stairs. An employee (younger, shorter in height, dark curly hair, eyelashes for days, pretty girl, minus her attitude) quickly, loudly, and rudely reminded us of our masks, ok we put them on. She then went back behind the counter with her coworker to loudly discuss how she "loves being a problem and starting issues with people." Why do you work at a children's toy store if your goal is to "be a problem" and "having issues" with parents trying to support a local business during hard times? The selection is good, the prices are a litte higher, but its a specialty store, not walmart. However, it's supposed to be about the fun and experience. I love the store and wished the atmosphere was more like how it was before....

On Tuesday my husband and I walked into the store looking specifically for a brown chihuahua for our daughter. We explained to them that in two days we had to have our brown chihuahua put down and how sad our daughter was and that she wanted the stuffed one to help her not be so sad. Not only did the young lady working go through all the stuffed animals right away and find the perfect one she was so sweet and kind. There was a gentleman working as well and he showed us the same kindness and compassion. Told us how sorry he was and wished us well. Based on their actions alone we will recommend them to people we know and we will definitely shop...
