The location is super convenient, right next to the memorial park entrance. The rooms were ok, old and beat up, but you are only paying $73. As many other reviews say, the service is super rude and the guy that owns the place not pleasant at all. Very creepy in staring at me when I went for a walk to meet some friends in the morning - not just a glance, major creep staring. it was like he was angry that we would walk out of the room to go somewhere.
We were booked for three days but the people in the room next to us were laying in their room smoking all day long and the rooms are not sealed so it wafted non-stop. I am very allergic to the smell so day two, seeing there were three cars in the parking lot, went to ask if we could switch rooms since i'm super allergic and have two more nights. Answer: "we are full" um, there's no cars in the parking lot at it's 7 p.m. Answer: "they are all checking in tonight" well, how about if I move to a different room before they get here and you won't even have to move them, the smell really is a problem for me." answer: "the whole entire hotel has been booked up since yesterday morning." um, well, there's no cars in the parking lot, I didn't book until last night, and I see on-line it says there are rooms, so can you help me out and let me move" Answer: "it's not illegal for them to smoke weed all day in their room so there is nothing I can do about it." (actually, it is illegal in Texas, but whatever). I wasn't asking you to stop them, although most hotels do have a no smoking policy and your website says you do too, but regardless, I was asking to move, not make them stop. Answer: "we are full"
omg, bang my head on the hall. so there are three total guests, and you make two of the three be right next to each other even though it's causing me to have an allergic reaction. Makes sense. I wrote this 1.5 hours later, still only 5 vehicles in the parking lot.
i travel to Houston every week and was thinking, oh, great location, yeah the highway is super loud, but this is a great price so I will even ask if there is discount for two weeks every month.... but the drugs situation, yeah, no thanks. and they definitely don't appreciate your business.
so bottom line, if you do drugs and need a cheap place to stay near memorial park, this is your place. Definitely a great...
Read moreI had reservations about staying here because of how outdated this place is but my wife booked the room before I saw it. Overall, it was clean and served its purpose, regardless of how mismatched the decor, carpet, chairs, and bed spread are. The reason for the low stars has nothing to do with the room and everything to do with their surveillance. When we pulled in, the woman, whom I assume is the owner, was watching from the office. My wife went to check in while my teen daughter and I waited in the car. The lady was adamant about only having two people stay, which was fine because we booked a one bed, two person room for a reason: only two of us were staying. My daughter was only to be with us while we were getting ready to go to dinner, and then going to spend the night with a friend. But as this was not this woman’s business, my wife did not feel the need to inform her of our plans. My wife went up to the room while my daughter helped get my luggage from the car. The woman in the office must have either been watching us or watched the cameras to check because an hour after arrival, as we were finishing up getting dressed, the woman called our room to tell us she had seen three people in the room and reminded us there were to be only two people staying in the room. My wife then informed her my daughter was only there until we were ready to drive her to her destination but I was flabbergasted that she would even call, much less so soon after we checked in. I might have expected this at a nicer hotel but this is an outdated motel! Never in my life have I had this happen. I could almost understand if we had been in the room all day with three people or if we had arrived late at night and never left but we’d hardly been there an hour and she called at 5:30. The sun hadn’t even set! If I wanted to be watched so carefully, I would have stayed at an Airbnb. I am not a criminal and don’t appreciate paying to feel like one. I felt uneasy for the remainder of our stay because I felt like we were...
Read moreThe managers/ owners/ whoever works at the front desk are incapable of communicating or understanding anything. They refused to acknowledge all the documentation for my online reservation (including a confirmation #) and kept implying that I needed to pay them for the room again. “We don’t take online payment.” “We don’t have record of you.”
Perhaps all they wanted was my card for incidentals? But by then they had CANCELLED my reservation bc they were so personally upset with me. All they had to do was acknowledge booking.com, or my confirmation #, or simply said the word “INCIDENTALS” and it would have been fine. But no, the old man just kept acting like he didn’t know why I was there and then some younger woman came out and said she needed to run my card “to pay for the room”. Anybody would have been worried about getting double charged due to these people’s inability to explain what they needed from you and why. Eventually they both just walked away and told me I can’t check in.
If you want to stay here, maybe just walk in and order a room rather than reserve online. I’m giving them the befit of doubt with 2 stars bc I won’t Honda language barrier against them and bc I did ge my...
