I recently visited Canyon Creek for the first time when I had a networking group meetup, and I wanted to share my experience. While there were certainly some positives, there were also a few aspects that left room for improvement.
Let's start with the food. The quality of the dishes I sampled was undeniably great. It's clear that the restaurant takes pride in its culinary offerings, and the flavors were certainly on point. However, I couldn't help but notice that the prices were on the higher side. While I'm all for paying a premium for exceptional cuisine, it's essential that the value matches the cost. In this regard, I felt that Canyon Creek might have been a tad pricey for what was offered.
One aspect that caught me by surprise was the ordering and payment process. You're required to get up and place your order at the counter, which is a bit different from what I'm accustomed to in a restaurant setting. While this system may work for some, I personally would have preferred table service. Additionally, it seemed that the wait staff didn't regularly check in on guests, which could have enhanced the overall dining experience.
On a less pleasant note, I encountered an issue in the women's restroom – there was no toilet paper. This is a basic amenity that should always be available, and its absence was an inconvenience.
Parking was a bit limited, but it's worth noting that there was plenty of seating available. The restaurant's layout and ambiance were quite pleasant, offering a comfortable setting for our networking group.
In summary, Canyon Creek offers delicious food and ample seating in a pleasant environment. However, it's worth considering the pricing, the ordering process, and the need for improved restroom maintenance. Some adjustments in these areas could elevate the overall dining experience. Despite the shortcomings, I'd be willing to give it another try in the hopes that these issues have been addressed...
Read moreI’ve been coming to this place for about 8 years and have always appreciated the atmosphere. However, my visit last night left me extremely disappointed due to the poor customer service my friend and I received.
It was raining, and we had just finished a run at Memorial, so we were looking for shelter and a good steak night. The bar was completely empty, and since we had just been there the day before with no issues sitting at the bar even though we weren’t drinking we didn’t expect any problems.
Instead, we were met by a rude and unprofessional Hispanic woman at the bar whose behavior was completely unacceptable. She told my friend it would be “best for all of us” to leave the bar, which felt totally uncalled for. My friend even felt discriminated against, which is deeply upsetting.
I wasn’t drinking and didn’t have my ID on me it was in my car but she didn’t give me a chance to explain or even offer to let me retrieve it. I was simply trying to sit at the bar, not order alcohol. Due to recent surgery, I can’t sit at low tables, so being forced to awkwardly stand at one was extremely uncomfortable and unnecessary.
Being told to leave the bar in such a hostile manner was very upsetting, especially given the circumstances.
I’m not usually one to leave reviews, but this experience was rude, dismissive, and honestly very disappointing especially from a place I’ve supported for...
Read moreThis place rocks. Dined here the other night. Told the gentleman taking our order that we were first timers and asked him what's good. He said to throw a dart and whatever you land on is good. Based on that, we felt we were definitely in the right place. We like slushy drinks so he recommended the Watermelon Fresco and Country Ass Tea, both were great...not boozy but flavorful and refreshing...something you could have for lunch and still go back to work. I ordered the chicken tenders and my husband was torn between the chicken fried steak and the drunken bird. Our advisor (the guy taking our order) said to definitely go with the drunken bird. Oh my gosh, it was amazing...can't wait to go back and have more drunken birds. This place is so laid back and chill, great music, I felt I was in Austin not Houston. It's an escape...in a very good way. The only negative was the dessert. They only have two on the menu, and we tried the chocolate cake. Unfortunately, it was still partially frozen when served. It’s an icebox-style cake (if you’re familiar with those), and since I don’t care for icebox cakes, it just wasn’t my thing. We gave it a try but ended up leaving most of it. Still, the food, drinks, and atmosphere far outweighed that one miss. Canyon Creek has officially become one of...
