I went to the park for the first time with my six months old puppy and the first thing that happened was some guy's little dog ran up like they were going to be friendly and then decided to try and attack my dog... And then as I'm standing there holding my puppy in the air, I wasn't sure what to do because I wanted to give the man time to retrieve his dog, so I just kind of stood there while this little dog is jumping up my leg barking and snapping... He just keeps calling his dog and never even tries to reach down and grab her...
So, we leave and go to the other side of the fence which is supposed to be for dogs of all sizes instead of just little dogs, and at first it looks like no one's there. However ,I then see a bigger dog from the back kind of walking up towards us and even though they seem to be friendly, after the experience I just had I didn't want to risk it. I left and went back to the other side (which was empty by this point) ...
The owner of the bigger dog walks up to my side of the fence and starts asking me, "why did I walk away from her dog", "Sometimes they just have to tussle it out", (my puppy is a Chihuahua), She's "Seen that other dog in the park before , and the dog has never acted like that...", ' Why did I have my puppy on a leash?"
Just doing everything she can to inject herself into my day.
And then to top it all off we sat down on a bench that had a bag of dog poop stuffed in one of the holes....
Screw this park, it's nice, but the people that...
Read moreIt is with great disillusion I write this. Around 9 am in the morning I arrived to this dog park with my Shepherds. There is no denying my biggest dog is more active than the other. Upon arrival there was a person with two Labs and another who kept his dog on a leash inside the fence dog park. I immediately understood that the person with the Labs would have an issue with my dogs. To that person with the labs, if everyone else has to keep their dogs on a leash while you play fetch with your pets, PLEASE do not bring your pets to a public dog park. My dog is not aggressive or uncontrollable as you referred to him with a very inappropriate language. My dogs understand that the park is where they can be themselves and play with others. If you in the other hand can’t tolerate other dogs to approach yours, again do not be in a public dog park where dogs can be of leash.
It is safe to say I will not go back because, I do not wish to be aggravated with verbal abuse from someone who wishes to keep the park all for himself. He feels entitled to be aggravating others such as me and the gentleman who left the park when I arrived who kept his dog on leash inside and...
Read moreOur first time here. Tipps is closed thru the 31st for maintenance, so I HAD to come to this one! (Broke my heart to pull in at Tipps, then back right out - Jasper did NOT accept my explanation regarding the closure!) I'd heard of this park, of course, but it's a bit out of the way for us. Well, desperate times and all that, plus it's only going to be 95° today! We're back to 105° tomorrow! Anyway, very glad we came, as this is a super nice, 3-section dog park. One for small, large, and one for "all." It has sidewalks and is huge and laid out very nicely, very pretty. My only "con" is that the park sits right below the Hurst animal shelter, and it kills me to glance up and see the poor pups looking out, surely wishing they were with us. So for that reason alone, this park will be my "backup." It's just too sad❣️ However, Jasper seemed to absolutely love it! There were a few other folks with their pups, so he did that; as I said, the park, in my opinion, is VERY large, so he had 2 solid hours of new smells to sniff. He came home, ready to eat, and is now deep into an...
