This will be my 83rd hotel review in the last two years. Hope it helps those looking to book some of these. So let's get too it.
Building- This hotel is a blast from the past. Old school layout but modernized to meet today's travelers expectations.
Rooms- As stated the rooms are modernized but still keep a old school feel. Clean without any issues. Has a Keurig which was a plus. Great touch with a letter from MGR and housekeeping, along with a welcome candy bar! The desk could use another plug in for business use but it worked. Bed was comfortable and there were plenty of places to charge electronics. Has a microwave and fridge another plus.
Staff- Super friendly, helpful, and made you feel at home.
Bathroom- Little small but functional. Shower had very little water pressure. Soaps and shampoo were very nice.
Breakfast- Top three breakfasts of any place we've stayed so far. They even made banana bread, I mean who does that? Omelet bar was superb and only the top three places we've stayed offered this. The staff was fantastic and the place was spotless. Best biscuits and gravy I've had at a hotel, I even had seconds. The selection available was bountiful. If you couldn't find it... you don't need it.
Location- Great spot for checking out the falls and river, it's right across the street. Nice walk after a rough day at work. Everyone should take a few minutes to check it out. Very calming.
Yes, this is the best Idaho Falls has to offer! It will be our go to when in town...
Read moreReally enjoyed our stay here. This is a four star hotel with a five star staff for the most part. It is an older hotel that has had some renovation done to it so as to upgrade the looks. The rooms are a bit on the small side. The bathrooms are even smaller lol, but it is cozy. Our room did have a slight odor but we went to Walmart and got an air freshener that solved that. The WiFi signal was weak never getting past fair signal strength according to my phone. Housekeeping did a good job the first three days the last two they dropped the ball. That's about it for the cons. The plus side is the lobby staff is great and always helpful if you need anything. The breakfast ladies cooking are funny and entertaining. Their breakfast here is fantastic. The hotel is located towards the end of the main street and the street turns into a one lane road so there is not a lot of traffic. They are right across from a great walking path. It's great for taking a late walk by the river with a beautiful view of the temple. The beds are very comfortable. The rooms have both a microwave and mini fridge. The cable is great with plenty of channels. All total the staff really make up for what the building itself may lack. There is a hot tub on one side and a pool on the other. Both are in good order with a small workout room with some weights and treadmill and other machines. We enjoyed our stay here, especially the...
Read moreOur stay was great! We came up to Idaho Falls for a concert. The Driftwood Inn was one of the few hotels with an outdoor pool which was the main reason we booked there. It was the same weekend as the rubber ducky race, classic car parade, etc. We were offered a room with a balcony facing the river, so we could watch the car parade and all of the festivities. The staff was the best part. Very friendly and super helpful, going above and beyond for a couple of requests. They have a fleet of about a dozen bikes (cruisers) that we borrowed with another family. They even had at least one kid's bike. They were all in working order, with locks, and some had baskets which was handy for the farmers market. The pool area was great and a couple of medium-large groups could relax there without being overcrowded. There is a hot tub and workout room that looked nicely maintained. Breakfast had omelets/eggs made to order, homemade banana bread and all the other complementary breakfast items you would expect at a Best Western. The rooms are a little older but clean with comfy beds. Our friends had one of the large rooms with a kitchen, and it was very spacious. We really didn't come for the weekend to spend time in our rooms. Their flowers and plants around the property were also beautiful and...
