Very disappointed. Hotel does not live up to the standard and quality of Marriott properties. Description says newly "updated" or "renovated" ... in the lobby maybe, the rooms are severely lacking updates. When I see the words "updated" or "renovated" I would expect more. The TVs for example, not updated compared to other Marriott hotels. Standard cable, no PPV option (which is included in the amenities in the description, but is already outdated in my opinion) with remotes that would make you think there's a Netflix option, but in reality have no smart TV capabilities at all. Beyond some things, like the TV, that could be considered "extra" there were a lot of basic things that can't go unmentioned. When I book a hotel room for a party of 4, I should be able to expect comfortable accommodations for 4, but when making the sofa out for my 2 sons, there was only half of the bedding. 1 sheet, 1 pillow. The sheet had a big stain on it to boot. I called down to the front desk to ask for a bedding set and was told "yes, we have that down here, just come down a pick it up". Ok... I went down to the desk and was handed clean sheets and blanket, but no pillow. They are out of extra pillows, but some have been ordered (based on other reviews I've seen since, they've "been ordered" for 2+ months now). The desk attendant (night) was not apologetic or empathic to not being able to meet this basic need. Oh, yeah ... I had to go down to the desk if I needed anything during my stay, no one could be available to what I needed leave outside of my room for that "contactless experience" that does not exist at all at this hotel. I was very disappointed about this. Check-in and checkout also had to all be done in person, I haven't had to do this at a Marriott hotel in years. More about the room - the bathroom was a mess with cracked tile in the shower, dirty grout on the floor, the bathroom door did not lock and was in bad need of repainting. Most Residence Inn properties I've stayed in do not have ice machines due to having the freezer/refrigerator in the rooms, and especially during COVID I can understand no communal ice machine, so that's ok. But when your freezer in the room is not connected to a water line...your option here becomes - no ice. Also, my wife and I we're debating on whether or not the actual beds in the 1 BR 2 room suites was actually a queen as advertised. It seemed smaller than it should have for a Queen, and other hotel booking sites have it listed as a Double .... Hmmm, but too sure about this one. Overall, this hotel falls significantly short of what I have come to expect from Marriott and...
Read moreHey All, I stayed visited Indy. for a business trip & stayer in this hotel for 3 weeks, I was really not happy with a lot of things in this hotel & I don’t recommend this hotel to anyone due to following reasons - Front Desk Staff - is not at all friendly, there will be hardly few individuals like Devin who tried to help me, but rest others weren’t of any help, I didn’t even feel they were kind to speak as well. They are not at all welcoming, I stayed in other properties too but never had such unwelcoming staff like I have seen them in this hotel. I can’t remember the names of 2 individuals who really were of no help or no use, whatever question I have they always said me you need to ask the staff in the morning, I use to feel no sense of asking them anything because I knew they will provide me same reasons Service - Rooms will not be cleaned everyday, each time you need them to clean you have to inform them, also very minutest instructions like changing bedspreads, clearing the trash is something we need to inform, else they just leave it as is. Service was so pathetic, I really suffered a lot Amenities - I was shocked to see this is a Mariott property with such low maintainance, wi-fi doesn’t work at all, the main elevator on floor 4 doesn’t work, everytime you need to go down, you will have to go to extreme end to take another elevator which is not very straight forward way to reach the room of other wing. Sometimes I had to go down by using the steps, as the elevators are way too slow & I one day ended up missing my cab waiting for elevator. Elevator on floor 4 wasn’t working for more than a month, during my stay but the management never stopped to provide rooms on 4th floor, it was so hard for me to use elevator of other wing to go down or using staircase to go down all the 4 floors. Complementary Breakfast - I can say it’s worst guys, everyday you have the same menu. There will be no good & proper options provided at breakfast, which makes it so boring & uninteresting. Please have some better breakfast options, I really doubt how this hotel is falling in Marriott group, I lost all the expectations I had on Mariot group after staying in this property, with all the bad & worst experiences I had with this property guys I won’t suggest you to stay in this property unless you have no other option. My reviews are quite genuine, there is nothing to hide here, I am damn disappointed with this property, I lost my trust on Mariot group as well, having such low maintained property. Please atleast now take appropriate actions to fix this hotel well & management should be well behaving with...
Read moreI stayed at the Residence Inn Marriott in downtown Indianapolis this past Saturday night and checked out Sunday morning. I never received the emailed final receipt as I asked for at the front desk. I ended up having to get myself a second room at about 3am because of a faulty door at your hotel. After a long day of being at a wedding and struggling to find a hotel that allows pets in downtown Indianapolis, we finally got a room at your hotel around 10pm. My wife and I went out for a bit to watch the World Series game and got back to the room around 1:30am. She soon fell asleep and I took the dog out around 2:30 to go to the bathroom before going to sleep myself. Upon my return to the room, I realized I had forgotten my key so I went to the front desk and got a new one issued. Once back at our door, the key would not work and the light blinked yellow. The front desk attendant came and tried with his master key and then informed me that if it blinks yellow that means the deadbolt is switched. So, I spent the night calling my wife over and over trying to wake her up to let me in. She is a heavy sleeper. She did not wake up to my storm of calls and texts. So, to say the least, this caused quite an argument between us. Around 6:30am, after spending nearly 4 hours walking around the hotel with my dog and sitting on the bench outside, I decided I had enough and went to the front desk and booked myself a second room. The last text I sent my wife prior to going to sleep was what room number I was in. Around 8:30am she knocked on my room and our argument continued. You can understand my frustration as to why she would deadbolt me out of the room when I took the dog out. She swore she didn't and apologized. She then left my second room and went to the original room to gather our things. Once she got there and put the key in, the light blinked yellow. Signalling that the deadbolt was locked. She just left the room moments earlier, and no one else was in there, so the deadbolt obviously wasn't locked. Maintenance ended up needing to come and some how slim jimming the door handle open and granting us access to our room once again. So, the 4 hours I spent stranded in the hallways of the hotel with my tired dog on the other end of a leash, calling my wife over and over again while I'm under the impression that she locked me out, was absolutely by no fault of her own but the fault of the hotel.
I will not be staying at another Marriott hotel...
