Stayed here for business a second time in 2 years. The first time this site had just opened and folks were still coming out of a long period of isolation making things a little sparse; definitely busier this time. ||||This is a dual branded property, Residence Inn on one side Springhill Suites on the other. Room type and price will probably be the deciding factor on which brand you need/want since the amenities are similar.||||At this point in time the spot to check in for both properties is thru the Residence Inn front desk. There is a large area for the Spring Hill side that has yet to be staffed and opened. As a result all guests share access to the common areas (front desk, breakfast area, gym, and of course the newly opened bar!) ||||I really like the room, spacious with a nice sitting area with separation by an island type desk area where there are plenty of ports and outlets. My only issue with this set up is that watching the tv from this area will result in an obstructed view due to a post on the corner of this island (see my pics). The TV swivels well enough to be seen from the bed or the couch so I didn’t watch tv while working which is not a horrible thing but I do think it’s a design flaw. ||||There is a nice little kitchen area with a microwave and mini fridge in the cabinet and coffee maker and ice bucket on the counter. Under the tv is a cabinet with a few drawers and open storage topped with a nice tray you can use for having breakfast in bed. ||||The oversized love seat has a pullout bed with a nice sized ottoman, plenty of space for lounging on or extra sleep space if traveling with small children. ||||The bathroom is well equipped with plenty of towels, toiletries, hair dryer and extra toilet paper. Note that the shower head is on the opposite side of the faucet, so you can turn it on without getting your arm wet. Make sure to put something on the floor because when you get out of the shower the door will drip water all over the tile making it slippery. The toilet is somewhat separated from the shower but not by a door. ||||The sleeping area has a freestanding closet which has a pole & shelves and contains an iron and ironing board, but no lighting to see what’s what; so match your socks before you store them in there. There is plenty of lights throughout the room and switches are a little hidden but my pics should help with that. Housekeeping was on request only when I was there so if you want daily cleaning let them know at check in.||||The gym was typical, Wi-Fi isn’t the greatest but they have a tv there so there is something for background noise. It has an indoor pool which was roomy and nicely heated.||||Breakfast was standard fare, you can make your own waffles and the staff was great. They made sure nothing ran out and kept things very clean. ||||Now for the important information! The bar is now open and drinks are reasonably priced! I paid $6 for a standard Bacardi and coke. They don’t serve food other than breakfast but you can bring in your own food and eat at the tables with a tasty cocktail, a glass of wine or beer. Or you can just hangout and drink without driving when you’re done for the night. The bartender is very friendly, pours a great drink and will make sure you get to the elevator safely. ||||I hope you visit and stop at the bar, just to have a drink and keep the bartender busy. If you have suggestions or requests to improve your stay the management seems eager to receive them.||||Overall, I look forward to staying there again. It’s close to nice restaurants and corporate space that is within walking distance. There is a small lake behind the hotel with a paved path for walking or biking. It has all the basics...
Read moreCommunication is non existent. They use an outside company for housekeeping needs. We were staying as a “team” for our 11 year old daughters soccer tournament. Everything went great as usual with a Marriott facility. Our team stays exclusively for tournaments along with our family for vacations with the Marriott suite of hotels, and all experiences from start to finish are great. All was well with our stay, and accommodations as usual, until, the second night. We had a team party where we ordered food and convened in the lobby area. Unfortunately when our 11 year old daughters we hanging around and going to each other rooms they were met and followed with multiple encounters of an older gentleman (60 or so). The man said multiple times to the multiple different groups of girls ( always in groups of 3/4) about how beautiful they were. He ended up following them floor to floor. Unfortunately at their age they couldn’t identify that there was a major issue with this until after close to an hour. After that amount of time it weighed on them enough, fortunately, to let multiple of us adults know. They were crying and asked me to follow them to one of the rooms, and that he would be there outside of that room waiting. Sure enough, he was there. I grabbed him and started the dialougue with him asking what he was doing, what his intentions were, etc. while escorting him downstairs through the elevator to the main desk. I passed on that information to a very nice lady named Zoe(the manager), who heard my words interpreted through the girls. I explained what was going on and communicated everything I had been told by them thus far. I said that I would follow up the following day, as did she. I was the first to follow up with the front desk because unfortunately she was not working that day, and she did not reach out until the following day. Their crew of people to view the videos came to check footage fir a little bit but left her no feedback to what they had seen. I gave her exact time stamps and locations to her on Labor Day and left the conversation open to a follow up call from her. Unfortunately 9 days later we still have no call back. I have called four times since, each with messages for Zoe, with my name and phone number, along with what this communication regards. This manager, hotel, franchise, and corporate are unfortunately silent as of now. That’s their choice. My choice is how to speak for our daughters. Our daughters who can’t sleep a full night. Our daughters who see that mans face in their dreams. Our daughters who aren’t given a voice when they know something isn’t right. So hear I am corporate. I am putting this out there for everyone in the world to read. I’m giving a voice for our daughters. And you still...
Read morestayed 3.nights while visiting both Purdue and Indiana University. I am a Bonvoy Titanium Elite member.. When we checked in we were asked if we wanted housekeeping… I wanted to reply “do you want me to pay the full rate you are asking?” - don’t know why some Marriott banners have decided to make housekeeping optional - they have to disclose this in their rate if they want to do this, not ask if its needed when a guest is checking in. Cheap way of saving money but annoying to any guest. ||We said “yes we need it” and they replied .. ok but we only offer it every “other” day .. another annoying answer when it doesn’t come with at least a discount attached to that answer. |But the worst part is.. we stayed the 3 nights and nobody even touched the room. No service of any type at all… that is unacceptable.||The rate included breakfast which we tried the first day but couldn’t find anything healthy in their buffet.. not even bananas were included. So no value add there.||This is a new building but its really not well done. Its 2 hotels attached to each other.. one lobby area is closed (sort of forgotten) and the other has the most minimalistic furniture possible (couple of chairs, table and few sofas) . Not inviting at all. Rooms are ok (decent size) but with weird layouts (like a builder tried to cram everything into the area). ||Would not recommend- I think there are better options for the price...
