We needed a place to stay that was close the the L.A. Forum that didn't cost a lot. I picked Kings Motel because of price and TripAdvisor's rating. Even though it is only a 2 star hotel, the higher rating of TripAdvisor is how I came to my decision. I have to say that this is one of the cleanest and best maintained 2 star hotels that I have ever stayed in. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The room was clean, up to date and very large. Now the negative and in my opinion, is what keeps it at a 2 star. There is very few extras. Things that we have come to expect from our rooms. There was no Iron, which we asked for and they had ONE to loan, but no Ironing board. There was no coffee maker or even any available in lobby. No blow drier and No clothes hangers in the closet. There is no phone (which may or may not be important, depending on your needs) and no alarm clock. There is, however a microwave oven and a mini fridge. Also they have the auxiliary ports of the tv disabled so if you have an xbox or portable dvd player, you cant use it on their tv. At first I thought there was no hot water but after letting run for 3 minutes it got good and hot. So let it run.||||The area is kinda scary but there is a big fence around the property and they are on constant surveillance to keep out the riffraff. There was constantly someone at the front desk so we felt safe while we were there. We will probably stay again but we will be sure to bring the things that we now know are lacking. My advice to the motel owner: spend a few dollars on each room and provide these things, they are inexpensive items and will go toward raising your...

Read moreThe outside was about what you would expect for the area, and the parking lot was quite small. Their policy was one car per room and no visitors parking. When I got in late after a dinner and party, there was one slot left by the door, which was handicapped. That was fine with me, as I have handicap plates, but others might have a problem.||||The lobby was Tiny with about the glassed-in security window receptionist that you would expect from a gas station in this neighborhood. They had my reservations, and were very polite, and insisted on photo ID, which I like. ||||Although I had requested a downstairs room and 5 pillows for health reasons, they had me booked into a upstairs room. When I asked politely for a downstairs room, he changed it and gave me the key to expect it before I checked in.||||I was amazed at the size and convenience and cleanliness of the room. It was just off the lobby, and everything in it worked, including switches to turn off of the main light and the bed lamps on the wall by the beds. There were plenty of sockets, and cable TV, which I didn't bother to use.||||There were not five pillows in the room, even though I had asked again at check-in. However the three on the bed, and the sofa pillow were sufficient. The linen was clean, and the bed large and quite comfortable.||||There was adequate hot water in the morning for both of our showers, and the bathrooms were clean. All in all it was a surprisingly good experience at a very affordable price.||||I felt quite safe getting back to my...
