The hostess & wait staff were friendly and efficient. We were checked on an appropriate number of times without them seeming absent, oblivious, pushy, or obsessive. We never felt rushed or abandoned. The ladies’ room was clean and well-stocked. No men were with us, so I can’t speak to that one. The ambience is what I’d call that of a sports bar - there are plenty of screens with various games on all the time. It’s also family friendly.
The cocktails we had were good. We didn’t order any house specialties or anything that would’ve been difficult to make, either.
The food was satisfactory/good. We got a couple of appetizers and burgers. The appetizers were a bit of a let down. Regarding the soft pretzel, the dough part was good, though a bit odd to see it in the shape of an “S.” However, there was not enough salt on it…additionally, with my background in the consumption of soft pretzels over the years, I must say that this one also didn’t have the right kind of salt on it. If they had used the correct type of salt, the amount might have been plenty. With it having the type it did, though, it definitely needed more. The spinach artichoke dip wasn’t very good. We had it with chips, which weren’t great, either…I think better ones might’ve helped. The dip itself (which arrived smothered in small, fried, onion rings that we promptly removed) was such a disappointment. It’s the first time we ever left any of this type of dip (as well as the chips) on a plate when we were finished eating (honestly, the frozen kind from the supermarket is better). It had bits of inedible artichoke in it - hard bits that couldn’t be chewed - and a flavor that I don’t know how to describe. It simply didn’t taste anything like other spinach artichoke dips. It was edible, but that’s about it. If we hadn’t been as hungry as we were, I would’ve sent it back. The burgers were ok/good. We didn’t get any of the specialty burgers, but a couple of the “Old Fashioned” ones. They weren’t anything special, but they were good. The sweet potato fries were ok, but the macaroni (except they used penne) & cheese was not. I do not recommend it.
As far as the parking lot goes, it was not great. One entrance is off of a very busy road, requiring an almost immediate right turn, with little room to accommodate oncoming vehicles during the turn. I recommend turning north at the light onto Budge Dr. & entering the parking lot from there. The lot also has very narrow spaces, so beware if you have a large, new, or expensive vehicle (the parking situation isn’t the restaurant’s fault…it’s simply the way that location is). There’s a lower lot & an upper lot. If you don’t want to walk up & down a bunch of stairs, park in the upper lot, accessible...
Read moreOhhhh so out for a little drone play and decided to drive up to Jackson Wy. There is lots of drone opportunities so we went for a drive. We were in Jackson and drove by this spot and people were enjoying the patio so we stopped. Parking is a little tight but there is a upper area and a lower parking and on the weekend you could park across the street and walk over. The restaurant is super nice the name wouldn’t tell the kind of upscale feel it has when you walk in. The host were on top of things and got us right in. There was a lot of Saturday Football in but we decided outside would be better so we could enjoy the warmth before you know the snow comes. The seating was great a little warm depending on what side you sat on. We decided to have our backs to the sun… so much better. Good local beers and those from around our area. You will need to scan the QR code for a full list of beers and other refreshments. They offer a Military Discount and the bathrooms were very clean. We decided to try the Patty Melt and truffle fries and we spiced it up with some bacon and sautéed mushrooms. The fries come with an aïoli sauce that was so very yummy. We split out meal and they brought it on separate place so that was a nice touch. I will say I wish I had my own but I would have been to full to finish our drive lol. The beers were good I had the Oktoberfest and I’m not sure what my wife had but she enjoyed it. They let us lounge out there after we had finished eating and didn’t make us feel rushed but I’m sure if they had been busier it could be different. This was the first time we were there but not the last. Great food and can’t wait to try it again. Thanks for making us...
Read moreHorrible waitress. “I asked the owner already & no discounts are available” you mean to tell me Miss Rice is working hard on a late Friday night?
We Arrived for dinner late Friday night. Excited we spotted carne asada plate on the menu. Sounded really appetizing. However, we kindly asked the waiter if it was possible to have that kind of plate but with chicken instead of the stake it originally came with. She replied “yes no problem”. We were barely greeted by staff, waitress forgets our silverware after bringing our food & barely checks on anything needed. No problem we can deal with the lack of service.
Chicken plate: was average. Ordered a cheese burger: dry & overdone
The bill comes around: Almost $40 for a chicken plate? with no adjustment in price for the “carne asada plate”. We kindly asked the waitress if the price was the same? as we had ordered chicken instead STEAK.
My favorite response: in a defensive tone she proceeds to explain that “I already asked the owner (female) & she said no discount is available. If we had coupons I would apply one but we don’t” now we are long time locals and you mean to tell me Joe Rice or his wife owners of several blue collar restaurants happened to be there on a Friday night & our waiter happened to know we were going to inquire about the bill discrepancy? Now, a cherry on top which we did not even bother to ask about: an additional $2 charged for cheese! 😂 additional cost for cheese!! for a cheese burger we had ordered. If you are unable to adjust the price at least don’t lie & claim “the owner” refused. That behavior really lowers & tarnishes the legacy & reputation the blue collar restaurants...
