While I’m very happy that Target has opened its new store in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, I’m quite disappointed in what the store has to offer. I would like to make a few suggestions that would address the interests of Jackson residents and visitors.
Jackson is the gateway to the Teton and Yellowstone National Parks and has very busy summer and winter seasons. Our recreational activities are principally outdoors, with fishing, hunting, hiking, biking, canoeing and camping in the summer season and skiing and snow boarding in the winter, yet the Jackson Target store offers no merchandise to support any of these activities. The KMart that previously occupied this building, offered fishing, biking, hunting, camping and sporting goods, as well as automotive, hardware, tools, furniture, appliances and gardening supplies. None of these are available in the new Target.
In addition, there is too much emphasis on clothing, toys, groceries and Starbucks. The grocery section seems a poor allocation of space as there are three major grocery stores within a few blocks of the Target location! Furthermore, the Starbucks Coffee store occupies an inordinately large percentage of floor space.
Re-allocating the grocery area, reducing the number of open spaces, reducing the floor space allocated to Starbucks and adding additional shelving should allow sufficient space to provide the above mentioned merchandise which I feel Jackson residents and seasonal visitors are more interested in.
Lastly, the customer service representative with whom I spoke, knew virtually nothing about the store and it’s merchandise and spoke very little English. As one of your key Target representatives, the customer service representative should be much more knowledgeable...
Read moreI've been to the store a few times and I've enjoyed it because it's nice and new but today was pretty crazy. I parked in a spot using a handicap permit. The cart attendant gestured to me angrily that I was off a bit to the side. When you have a parking permit for handicapped, you are supposed to be parked to have access to both sides. That is actually the point of a handicap permit. I got out of the car without moving the car out as he wished I would have. I nicely explain to him that I don't have to move the car because that is what I am allowed to do. He looked upset. I didn't really care because it didn't affect anyone at all. I won shopping returned loaded my car. I even went to return the card not just to the cart area but brought it up to him. Directly to make it easy for him. The man actually gestured to me angrily telling me that I must bring it all the way into the store. I looked at him in shock because I expected him to literally thank me. Instead, he was telling me angrily that I should bring my card all the way back into the store as a handicapped individual who was helping him out. I couldn't believe it. And I can't believe Target would hire someone who goes around telling people to do this. I actually told him if you asked me nicely I probably would do it. But you are trying to order me and I will not take orders from you. So just do it yourself. I am not taking orders from you. Goodbye to your sir. Goodbye. This person gets his psychological jollies out of telling people what to do. In a parking lot for no particular reason. I think I'm going to avoid the store in the...
Read moreThis has got to be the most useless target i have ever seen. I came for a bathroom scale.. they literally said they don't sell them anymore due to "low sales." I want every single person who reads this to think, in all of Jackson, where could I find a bathroom scale? Oh, target has them in every other target store known to man across the world. Let's go there.. just to learn that they NO LONGER OFFER THEM. This target has absolutely NOTHING that you need, however, they DO have EVERYTHING that you don't specifically need to go to target for. P.S. ace hardware can't keep these things on the shelves, the demand is there. Absolutely insane that target doesn't have a bathroom scale.. but has a...
