This is an eclectic and unique boutique hotel that has oddities and unique finds and treasures around every corner.. as you enter the lobby of the Jefferson hotel you will be overwhelmed by the variety of antiques and trinkets that make this hotel such a cool place to visit! The new owners are inviting, friendly and fun and I couldn't be more pleased with our stay here.
This hotel is for the one who wants to experience something that goes beyond the norm.. the laid back atmosphere despite being completely unconventional makes you feel like you are at home away from home. Pam and Jeromy go to great extents to make certain you are happy and comfortable during your stay.
I couldn't get enough of this hotel! Every where we walked there was something new to see! I must have walked through 5 times and each time I saw something new and different! Additionally there is a story to almost every piece that the couple has collected and strategically placed in the hotel!
Our stay put us here on New Years Eve in which we were delighted to learn there was a small NYE party in the Ballroom and it was a BLAST! Jeromy is a man of many gifts and talents and personally DJ'd the entire event! The music was fantastic and appealed to the the variety of people that were staying at the hotel this weekend! This couple has an amazing energy that makes everything they do FUN!!
SO moving along to our accommodations- We stayed in two rooms as we wanted to experience more then one of the uniquely themed rooms, both were fabulous! The TV in the rooms include a smart TV so there are plenty of viewing options, the linens were crisp and clean, and the hot water was hot! The beds were very comfortable and despite the claims of ghosts and spirits that linger about this known haunted hotel we slept wonderful!!!
The first night we stayed in the circus room there were clowns and vintage memorabilia it was bright and fun and maybe a bit creepy but we enjoyed it!
The second night we stayed downstairs in a more traditional room it had a Victorian feel and was warm and cozy! Pam greeted us with a smile and made sure we enjoyed our stay when we checked out.
I also want to mention that the hotel is conveniently located directly across from a wonderful little coffee shop and a scenic nature trail, so upon waking we partook in lattes and a quaint little walk.
The town of Jefferson is a historical town with colonial and Victorian homes a general store and several neat little antique and other shops to visit so much to do and see during the day on your visit.
I highly recommend you visit this hotel if you are looking for a fun, interesting and unique experience! It will make for a fun little weekend adventure! Although we didn't participate in the ghost tour or the "disappointments room" we heard much chatter of it and may have to see what it's all about on our next visit! Hoping that to be MARDI GRAS!
I will mention that they book up fast so if your interested in visiting near a holiday or special event reserve your room early!
Thank you Pam and Jeromy for giving us memorable experience...
Read moreWe booked 2 nights for our 4 year wedding anniversary. We only ended up staying 1 of the nights due to a frantic call home. (Our early departure was NOT the hotels fault.) Hopefully someone went in and found the banana pudding we left behind lol.
We stayed in room 4 (Honeymoon suite). We arrived really late, our room key was next to our door with a nice welcome letter. The hotel doesn't have a staffed front desk, but they do provide a phone number to call or text if you need service. We ended up needing it because the jets for the jacuzzi tub didn't work.
Lots of amazing places in the area to eat, lounge, and check out so we didn't spend much time in the hotel the first night.
We spent our 2nd day out and about, exploring Jefferson and the surrounding areas. By the time we returned to the hotel the owners had informed us the jets on the tub couldn't be fixed during our stay, which was fine. It is an old hotel, after all!
They offered us a refund for one of our nights. We took time to explore the hotel, check out some of the other rooms, look at their unique collection. Rooms that are unoccupied are left open with a red rope so as not to cross the threshold. Each room is themed and has a unique experience with it. The camping room looked like a good time!
If you are looking for true representation of a historic site, this is not the hotel for you. There are others in the area. If you enjoy ghost hunting, the macabre, eclectic and eccentric experiences, this is a great destination. The owners are truly their own, authentic selves and it is represented throughout the location.
Do not come here expecting a 5 -Star resort stay. It is an old building with antique furniture. It is not designed for maximum comfort. Expect to hear creaky floors & water dripping. The furniture has long since seen its glory days. The bathroom toilet is in its own little closet, if you have long legs... Maybe try not doing that. lol. If you can't handle not having all the modern luxuries and comforts, go find a holiday inn and leave these kind people alone.
If you do choose to stay here and you have an issue, be a human. Talk to them, like adults. The owners were nothing but kind and very responsive. They were also incredibly understanding of our early departure. We choose a new historic town for our anniversary every year, so while we won't be back next year for the same reason, we might check out some of the other fun events they host during the year because they are always doing something cool and exciting!

Read moreWe stayed here last weekend and the staff was very friendly. However the pictures online are not what the hotel looks like. The new owners have junked it out in what seems to be an attempt to make it a horror house. The downstairs looks fine other than the "antiques" that look more clutter junk than antiques. Just because something is old doesn't always make it an antique. Upstairs however looks like it was once an older hotel with dated carpet now looks a mess. The carpet has been pulled up but the wood floors left unfinished and uneven. There is paint all over them, broken wood around the doors and road signs plastered to the floor. The items lining the hall are even worse. So much clutter and the popcorn machine with the fish body and zombie head from Spirit Halloween just looks awful. One room now has dolls nailed to the ceiling and walls to look scary I guess? The room we stayed in was nice but you cannot control the temperature of the room. The a/c unit had the cord cut off at the unit. It was so hot we couldn't sleep and tried to call down to someone several times but no one answered. Finally about 2 a storm came through and cooled the room off enough to sleep. Even check out was weird with a sign that said to just leave the key on the desk, no formal check out, so we took a picture of where we left it just in case. It says there is a restaurant but it isn't there any more, just a dining room you can get food from somewhere else and bring back. Three star because the people were nice and the room wasn't cluttered and a mess but that's really the best I can say.
Since I cannot respond to your comment I will here. We didn't even have food in the room so not sure how you can ruin sheets when you have nothing to ruin them with. There was no make-up, no food, no way to ruin anything. And there was never a call back as we were laying in bed before and after we made the call...
