Delicious Breakfast- The food never failed to impress- homemade egg and cheese in puff pastry, pancakes, frittatas, fresh fruit, etc. Every breakfast has been scrumptious. Cookies, Coffee, and Tea are available all day, everyday in the foyer of the Inn
Ideal location- The Inn is walking distance to downtown Jefferson where you can find antique shops, eateries, boutiques, souvenir shops, museums, etc. After talking a driven tour of the city, I have even more awareness of the Inn’s close proximity to different hidden gems in the city.
Beautiful Rooms- Suited with unique decor, fitting with the names of each room. They are incredibly clean and the beds are super comfortable. I was incredibly cozy during my stay. Each room has a ceiling fan so it is easy to cool down even more after facing the Texas heat. Rooms come with body wash and shampoo and ample towels. Each room has a TV on which you can watch Netflix and YouTube among other platforms.
Superb Furnishings- Eclectic mix of Southern charm and European style. Art pieces and furniture create a cohesive , cozy feel all throughout the communal spaces in the Inn. Each room feels like a lovely themed escape from the central quarters. The outside of the Inn offers a great place to unwind to a glass a wine and enjoy company with your party.
Incredibly warm owners/ atmosphere- The owner Lana was so welcoming and accommodating during our stay. She is always willing to offer up suggestions on where to eat, shop, and different attractions here in Jefferson and the surrounding towns. This was incredibly useful for guests like me who were new to Jefferson and wanted to make the most out of...
Read moreAwwwe Dr. Ed, You forget yourself, and the other guests who were here at the exact same time as you were....like me. I'm curious with the posts that are going to be above and below yours if your comments about this B&B doesn't have a little something to do with your crush on Kristin.(Don"t be embarrassed, we all love her) Or the fact that she did not accept your Facebook invite. Maybe not, so let's continue. You Mr. Ed are a walking riddle. You say you speak for your entire group and yet there was a collective rolling of eyes and subject change every time you walked back in the room. You speak so highly of Kristin and yet insult her by speaking badly of her husband. You confuse "hallway" for a place that is an entrance to welcome one and ALL for a place meant for YOU to have and obtain exclusive possession of. You confuse witty intelligent conversation and banter, which your own guests fully enjoyed, with someone monopolizing the time you would like to miserly eat away in the lives of your own friends. No one blames you for your sweet crush on Kristin, and I couldn't agree with you more that jealousy plays a HUGE part on your stay here....and you rudely insulting her husband Byron is a dead giveaway as to who is jealous of who. The next time you visit Jefferson, maybe you can reserve a room at the Library....where NO ONE can speak. It must be the DOCTOR in you to help you remember to write this review an...
Read moreThe Steamboat Inn, nestled near the heart of downtown Jefferson near Big Cypress Bayou, fully encompassed Jefferson's rich riverport town heritage & history. During our stay, we got lost in reading about the local legends some of whose names are painted above each room. The night we stayed was the 140th death anniversary of Diamond Bessie whose room was vacant. It made for a mysterious night for sure! The innkeeper told us the town does a reenactment of her murder trial every year during Jefferson's Pilgrimage... would love to see... The town's heritage is evident throughout the inn from the beds, to the clawfoot tubs, the art, photographs, books & decor. I felt like I'd taken a trip back into the 19th century, yet with modern conveniences. There were chairs out front surrounding a firepit that David got started for us. Between family time, we walked to the fudge shop, general store, Blackburn's jelly store for some jelly & cajun quail eggs... Auntie Skinner's down the street served dinner, drinks, and had great live music. We declined breakfast since we were tired from the events of the weekend, however after reading the excellent feedback in the guest book, I wish we would have enjoyed breakfast too! David had to-go food and coffee ready for us anyway. He was a super host. Staying at The Steamboat Inn was like stepping back in time, and I loved...
