Read moreOh, the Jefferson General Store is like walking back in time. They also have an antique soda fountain where they really do serve up sodas, floats, ice-cream cones and even offer a cup of coffee for 5cents. Browsing isle after isle you can't help but feel like a big O' kid again, they carry so many candies from the past it's hard to list them all. Plus you'll find items like hats, shirts, souvenirs, jams, jellies, cookbooks and even books about Jefferson Texas. Last year they opened up the back room stocked full of things for kids of all ages. My favorite is the fun lazer shooting gallery where you get points for hitting things like Dorothy's ruby red slippers, John Wayne's cowboy hat and even make a dinosaur roar. Oh by the way, don't leave without picking up at least one of the pecan pralines they make fresh right there...

Shame on her.
Otherwise, a great store with friendly staff! Can’t let one bad apple...
