Stayed in one of the king suites with the spa tub and fireplace. A couple of things just to be aware of when staying here: ~The spa tub was really small and barely fit one person. ~The towels that are advertised as plush aren’t. They are just standard hotel towels. And the robes are very used, made of a rough material and aren’t comfy. ~The bedding also wasn’t plush like advertised. The pillows are just regular old, hard, cheapy hotel pillows. I’ve gotten better ones at the much cheaper Comfort Inn down the street. The fireplace barely makes any flame, which actually I guess was good because you’re not allowed to turn the heat off in the rooms or the pipes freeze. This made using the fireplace (which also puts out a lot of heat) uncomfy unless you like the room 80 plus degrees. —Opening a window didn’t really help despite the fact it was snowing outside. When the window was shut there was a weird howling sound at night, I’m guessing from the wind, but it was loud. I guess having a hot room with an open window solved that issue tho. ~The traffic from the street is also super loud. ~The restaurant downstairs is very very noisy. In the morning when they open at 7, and at night when they open you can hear everyone working, laughing, chairs scraping, silverware clanking, eating and talking downstairs till closing. (I also got food to go from here, one dish was good and the other was gross) ~The TV was really small. ~No Microwave unless you go downstairs to use one. ~No Ice Machine. You also have to go downstairs and ask for a ziplock baggy of ice. ~There is no elevator to the second floor so you have to carry everything upstairs. No biggie unless you have bulky luggage like we did. Just a minor inconvenience. ~The front desk lady was wonderful, she really cared, was friendly, helpful, and helped make our stay better. 5 stars for her. The room was nice and clean. They have a casting service to the tv so you can watch whatever you want from your personal streaming services. The ambience of the snow falling and the look of the room with the...
Read moreWe did not have the luxurious experience we expected from this hotel. On the whole, it is beautifully decorated, but our room was more akin to a budget motel. We experienced so many issues (described below) that we decided to check out early. I should note that the hotel staff did kindly offer us another room booth at check-in, when we hadn't yet experienced all of the problems, and check-out the next morning, when we were fed up. Also, per policy, we received only a refund for the night that was booked by someone else, rather than a full refund because of the terrible we stay. We feel that a classy establishment would offer a full refund with apologies, especially one that advertises as the luxury option in Kanab. I should not have to ask to be moved at a classy hotel. Classy hotels don't have these problems to begin with. I should also note that I am posting this after receiving official response from the hotel.
We stayed in room 216, above the restaurant, which is one of their higher-end suites. During restaurant hours there is a dull thumping from the music/speakers below. There are also dulled restaurant noises, dishes clanking, chairs screeching across the floor, etc. Aside from noise from the restaurant, we found that there was a gap between the window and the frame, letting in more traffic noise and causing a howling from wind. We discovered that sometime in the night and had to stuff tissues in the gap to stop it. The shower dripped incessantly even after trying to force the faucet closed. We had to turn on the bathroom fan to drown that noise. The air/heat was incredibly loud, jolting us awake when it turned on, not only from the noise but also because it blew air right onto the bed. Unfortunately that is cold air initially while the heater warmed. The pillows were flat and hard. We were then awoken again by chairs scuffing on the floor during breakfast at 7:00 am, after trying to manage all those other problems.
We will not...
Read moreThis is an unethical business that clearly puts money before customer service and there are numerous other lodging options in this area with better business practices. I booked a reservation with my dog however, they called me saying that I could not stay in the room I requested with a dog. They would not offer me a refund on the deposit because it was a “non refundable” rate but instead offered me a subpar, “dog friendly” room despite no indication that the original room I had booked was not dog friendly. Because of this, I had to reschedule the dates. They act as though they have been so “accommodating” for rescheduling my dates 4 different times however, there is NOTHING within their policies against rescheduling within any time window. Now that I cannot reschedule, I felt they should refund me my deposit as the original booking was entirely misleading as explained above. Apparently I am “verbally abusive” to their staff (which in reality is one person I have been emailing with) after I explained that I felt what they were doing was unscrupulous. As you can see in their statement below, their response towards me has been nothing but defensive and unprofessional. In all my years of traveling and staying in hotels, I have never had such a horrible and negative interaction like I have with this hotel nor have had one try to gaslight me into thinking they have bent over backwards for me and called me a liar when the ethical thing to do would have been to refund me my money in the first place given their unclear, misleading information online. Attached is their policy on cancellation and change which confirms no stated policy on changing dates of reservations within any time window of the reservation date. They are simply coming up with excuses that support their poor customer service for...
