We really love this hotel and how conveniently it is located in town. Our room was clean and spacious. The pool was clear and the hot tub worked.||A few improvements could be made, of course including fixing the pool table that didn’t work. I would also add a box of tissues to every room. The room downstairs where you eat breakfast is very hot. It was actually cooler outside than it was in the breakfast room breakfast was good though Did run out of juice both days we were there. The laundry facility was very handy. One dryer didn’t work for me, but they refunded me at the front desk with no questions.|Speaking of the front desk, they are so helpful and accommodating gave lots of information to help us find our way. |Unfortunately, while we were there our son developed an ear infection. This is when we found the drugstore across the street. It’s called Kanab drug. I have also seen it called Kanab united drug. A prescription was called in their hours are 9 AM to six. I’m glad we discovered this little gym because they also have food there that you can order and hand scooped ice cream. We ended up having ice cream there and they have outdoor seating on this cute little patio that has all kinds of games available for kids to play.||If you were looking for a decent meal and a very reasonably priced adult |beverage, go to the restaurant called Houston’s Trail’s End. It’s just a short walk from the hotel.|I will say that we wish that the pool would stay open later as we do a lot of exploring and 10 o’clock was just too early for us. When you’ve been hiking all day and have sore muscles it’s nice to sit in that hot tub. they are diligent about kicking you out right at 10 o’clock Even if it’s just a quiet couple sitting in the hot tub. they did have towels available at the pool, which was very nice. I would definitely stay again and hope that they would make a few improvements.||I almost forgot about the wonderful ice machine and also the coffee that is available in the morning. I couldn’t get enough of that coffee. It...
Read moreI've been to this hotel more than once several years apart. Just a few years ago, this was one of the best in the area. But newer, nicer hotels have since opened.
The rooms are generally comfortable and clean. Mini-fridge, microwave. The beds are comfortable. But the room for don't block a lot of sound. Or most recent visit we ended up with a room on the landing between floors and next to the office. We didn't check in until almost midnight and had been awake for 22hrs so we were looking forward to sleeping in a bit. I don't know exactly the time because I unplugged the alarm to plug my phone in near the bed since the outlets on the lamp were so loose my charger kept falling out, but it was well before 7am when people started hitting the statues and there were a lot of doors opening and closing. I don't know if they were just in and out of the office a lot or if the sounds echoed in the landing area. But Imma not a light sleeper and it kept walking me up so that I was up before 8am. We had permits for The Wave and we had plans for a long day of hiking so getting a good night's sleep was high priority. I'm sure we're not the only ones staying in the area that pay for a room to ensure sleep and a good shower.
The breakfast is decent. Pancakes, eggs, sausage, oatmeal. Some pastries. They don't do the greatest job at keeping things stocked. Multiple mornings, years apart, the pancake machine was out of batter, you have to try to hunt someone down to refill. The fresh fruit goes quickly but they don't seem to watch it. When I was there for breakfast there were plenty of apples and one brown (I like them spotty but this thing has a weird color) banana with some surface rot. Love that they have chocolate milk in the dispenser.
Overall, I wouldn't refuse to stay here again. But, I would avoid a room on the landing between floors. I'd definitely investigate the price difference on a room in a newer...

Pros: Fair, anxiety-free cancellation policy. Parking convenient to room, though tight. Helpful, accommodating, friendly staff. Spacious room. Beds are ok. Shower stall with doors not curtains. Adequate number of AC outlets, including some table-top ones. Good mirror lighting in sink area to do your makeup and inspect your face's defects.
Cons: Overpowering air freshener smell. Very dingy carpet. Heater is nearly useless. Though it works and can heat up the room in 5 minutes, the spread between the thermostat on it turning it on and off is about 10 degF. Also, after it has gone through one cycle, it either will not do another cycle unless it has been switched off for a long time, or maybe it just has an hour before it will re-cycle. It's a heat pump, so who knows. Basically unusable. Toilet is tiny and due to level of water is a ball-soaker. In addition, if you have any kind of knee problem, my knees were above the seat. Bathroom space between shower and door is tiny and cramped. Hard to even access the toilet paper if you are sitting down. Shower flow, like most motels, is pathetic, though better than most. Be advised that the shower floor is extremely slippery if any soap gets on it, and some areas of it are even if just water. No microwave, Refrigerator does not have a freezer, is smallish compared to other motels, has no temp control, and can barely keep items cool. Suggest you use your cooler and get ice if you want things cold. Ice requires going outside to get it at the pool. Not a big deal, unless bad weather. Lighting is dim, like most motels, but better than many. TV has hdmi ports, but didn't use them so don't know if they work. Door to room has lost weatherstripping, so cold air and critters can get in. No bathtub, but there is a hot tub if you like marinating with other...
