I honestly don’t understand how this hotel gets any good reviews. We were on a two-week road trip and stayed at several hotels. This was, by far the worst. We checked in late because we had made a stop at the Grand Canyon on the way to the hotel and spent the day there. When we arrived, the gentleman at the front desk said he had been trying to get in touch with us. We had received no phone calls that we were aware of, so we later checked our phones. There was a missed call from an unknown number with his name in the caller ID, not the hotel’s. It was received while we were in area between Kanab and Page where there was no cell reception. Even if we had received it, we wouldn’t have answered since it was an unrecognized name and number. Also, no message was left, so we would have had no idea who it was from.
After checking in, we went to the room. We could see that the hallway looked like it hadn’t been vacuumed in days. There was dirt, grass, and trash all down the hall. When we got to the room, the room directly across the hall was open and a huge, loud industrial fan was blowing directly at the room we given. The room it was in was flooded and they were trying to dry it out by running this fan all night long.
Anyway, we tried the key to “our” room and the door would not unlock. I went back to the desk and he reprogrammed the key. I returned to “our” room and tried again. It still would not open. Then a very annoyed sleepy man opened the door. We apologized profusely and told him we had been given the wrong room. I went back to the front desk and informed the guy that there was already someone in that room. He was very confused and had no idea that someone was in that room. He even later came down and woke the guy up again to ask who he was and how long he was supposed be there.
I thought at least now we would get a room away from the blowing wind tunnel, but, no, we were placed in the room right next to it. We could hear the fan in our room. The next thing I noticed was the exhaust fan in the bathroom hanging out of the wall by its wires. Then there was the wall protector that was pulled out of the wall hanging by the screw. Next was the torn bed skirt and the broken table lamp. Then we got in bed. The mattress was so worn out, that it sunk in the middle on both sides. It was like sleeping in a hammock.
In the morning, we went to breakfast. When we got to the breakfast are, there was a toilet sitting in the corner. Really? There was no other place they could find to put it? On Saturdays and Sundays, you have to go to a different building across the parking lot for breakfast.
Before leaving for the day, we tried to get ice, but the ice maker was not working. We were told we had to go to the other building to get ice. We left and came back that evening and our key would not open the back door or our room. We had to go have it reprogrammed and again. This happened every day that we were there. One time I was asked how long I was staying, so, apparently they don’t know how long you are going to be there, so they just keep cancelling your key each day. Now I know why I was giving a room someone was already in.
When it was time to check out, I asked for a receipt like I had done at every other hotel I have ever stayed at. Unlike those others, however, I was told he could not give me a receipt. He would just mark me out with a highlighter. There was no way to get any type of proof of my charges.
I used to trust that the Wyndham name meant a quality hotel, but I can longer count on that to be an indication of a decent...

Spacious 1-king bed suite, cold/quiet AC, large flat screen TV, table to eat at, microwave, bright bedside lamps (but very dusty), good size mini fridge but door opens from against the wall (making it difficult to food into it)…had freezer section that was in severe need of being defrosted. The bed was very comfortable, although when pulling down the blankets, I found a hair on the fitted sheet (okay, I understand that can happen). Furniture and fixtures dated but not big a deal. Bad patch job below entry light switches. Good water pressure in shower. There were several ants on the cabinet on which the microwave sits and a few in the bathroom, ugh. The carpet had many small pieces of paper(?) throughout room. Looks like it hadn’t been vacuumed anytime recently. Lots of trash at east side building entryway and in the hallway. I was told on the phone that there would be omelettes, however, they were really just pre-packed fried eggs. The rest of the breakfast was pretty typical. The breakfast attendant didn’t speak English…she used a translator on her phone to communicate with me when I asked a question.|I had called when I was a couple of hours from Kanab just to let them know I was on my way. I was assured by Heena that I’d be well taken care of. She was not there when I arrived. I asked the desk clerk if I could see the assigned room before unloading my van, and at first it looked ok. I’m sure we’ve all been in that situation when on first glance all seemed good, but once I settled in, I started noticing the cleanliness issues. Since it was for one night only, I didn’t ask for another room. |When checking out the next morning, Heena asked me if everything was ok. I said that some things could use some attention, and she asked me what things and if I had asked for another room. When I told her I did not ask for another room, she said, “then you can’t complain.” I was not complaining, but just stating facts since she was the one who asked me if I was satisfied. Heena then said that she is all about satisfaction and that I should have asked for another room. My opinion is that if satisfaction is always a number one concern, this room, and the grounds as well, should never have been in the state they were in.|Having looked at someone else’s review from April 2025 about the outdoor pool and hot tub being empty and dirty, I noticed that they were still in the same condition when I stayed there. The hotel was way over-priced for the condition. Based on this experience, I would not return...
Read moreQuick details: a place to sleep and a bathroom to use during a long road trip. The fridge froze most of our food, there was one night where the showers ran out of hot water, the key cards almost never worked on our door (that was hard to open even when we got the green light), the two men staff were difficult to communicate with, a great location (Kanab) to stay for a short trip to the national parks nearby.
More details: -My mother and I stayed here for 4 nights. Our only requirement was needing a bed and a bathroom, though we found that a working fridge (my mother has some dietary restrictions, so we packed a lot of food) and a hot shower was also necessary after hiking many miles each day. -Contrary to what others experienced, they did have our room that we had reserved, and my aunt had made the reservation but they did allow for me to pay for it. -The door was difficult to open and though the woman at the desk (who was the most helpful and friendly) recharged the keys, they still did not work well. -The fridge in our room froze almost every single food item that we had brought. My mother was especially upset about this because she packed a few items that she really enjoys that are within her dietary restrictions, and they were ruined by the "fridge" (basically freezer). -There was one night where the hot water ran out for showers. After speaking with other guests, it was across the hotel. My mother brought this up the next morning to one of the men working the front desk and her cut her off and did not listen to her concern, stating that there was a group of 35 that came in and all took showers, using all the hot water. -The breakfast was alright. I was surprised that there was a warmer with sausages, which I missed the first morning, but after having 2 each morning, that was a game changer for my hiking ability. -The wifi would work for about 30 minutes, then no longer be connected to my phone. It would disconnect each time I locked my screen, too.
With all this being said, we did not starve. We were clean each evening. We got sleep. We are...
