What an amazing experience that is consistent with each and every visit. Great value for your money, not to mention Location, Location, Location. From the minute you walk into this hotel you are greeted with a staff that is the epitome of hospitality. They go out of their way to make you feel at home as well as take care of your requests in a polite and timely manner. The staff display that it definitely starts from the top....and they like and respect their leaders. KB and Walker are two of the friendliest and hands on manager in the hotel industry that I have ever met. I have travelled and relied on hotels for over 35 years of my life....so I would like to think I have some experience in living in hotels. |The hotel is located two blocks from the Trolley, T Mobile is blocks away, great restaurants and bars. What is not to like? The rooms are super clean, great linens, fluffy pillows, and the list goes on. |As far as food and drink.........the breakfast buffet is convenient and a great price. The restaurant is being remodeled and sounds like it is going to be amazing. The hotel bar has great cocktails and the food........well for hotel food.......its impressive. Great value for the amount of food....and the food is great!!! Ish is a great bartender and conversationalist as well are a few others. Food and Beverage manager is a delight......and obliges my request for decaf.....freshly brewed. LOL||We have really come to enjoy this property and all it has to offer. Parking, convenient location, food, and great rooms. Truthfully the reason we have chose this to be our home away from home .......a great get a way when we need a respite.......is the STAFF......from the management down.....this property shines.......they make us feel comfortable and like extended family. Job well done......we have only been home a few days.......and we cannot wait to...
Read moreI was extremely disappointed with the experience I had with this hotel. I booked a room for 3 nights for Planet Comicon: Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Shortly before I arrived on Thursday I was called and told that I had to be switched to the Marriott for Thursday night due to "room problems" and would have to come back on Friday for check in. Normally this wouldn't have been a big issue but I was in town for a convention where I was competing in a cosplay contest with a large costume to lug about. I was not able to switch my stay over to the Marriott for the rest of the weekend so I came to the Crowne on Friday morning as planned to park my car because I wouldn't be able to check in until later, I was treated very indifferently by the front desk staff. I brushed it off because of the convention but was still uncomfortable. I returned in the evening after and the check in staff Friday evening were very nice. The rooms are very small which I wasn't expecting and it was hard to move around in them, even without a large costume on. Checkout on Sunday was handled by the same team I met on Friday morning and I felt again like I was being treated like a nuisance just for being there. I'm not a Karen, I don't throw fits, I don't expect the red carpet treatment, I just wanted to be treated with the same kindness I was showing them. Going to the Crowne after the Marriott felt like I was being punished for something I didn't even know I did wrong. The Friday evening check in staff were the only pleasant experience and I can't thank the two people at the desk that evening enough that helped me, they were very kind. I will not be returning to this hotel and overall the only benefit this experience revealed was that I got to have a free stay at a nicer/friendlier hotel for the inconvenience of...
Read moreRecently stayed here during a convention. Overall, our stay was nice with some comments:||||Positives: ||Staff: Everyone we dealt with was very friendly and attentive. We always had nice engagements.||Beds: Our beds were very comfortable||Location: If you are attending a function at the KC convention center, you will be very pleased. It is a short walk.||Room Noise: I must say that we never heard noise from our neighbors nor hallway.||TV: It may be a pet peeve but during storms, we couldn't watch TV (Direct TV) and for some reason, we couldn't access the "guide".||Restaurant: The breakfast place was good. The other place to eat was very good. Sometimes during any convention we attend, we just like to eat in and this place was good.||Parkng Garage: We appreciated the on-site parking. Just be aware, that you need your room key to access and exit from the garage.||||Negatives:||Bathtub: On the third day of our stay, the tub wouldn't drain. My wife told housekeeping and they pulled the drain plug. I also went to the front desk to notify them of the issue. The plugged drain forced you to stand in ankle deep water and took over an hour to drain. They never addressed the issue before we checked out on the 5th day. Very disappointed. Appears several of my friend's rooms also had the same issue.||Elevators: Of the 6 elevators (5 for patrons and 1 service elevator), only four were working, and that was with a convention in town. The elevators are not the largest units. If you are attending a convention and need to get to any event that those staying at the hotel will also be attending, leave very early. Sometimes it took us 45 minutes to get from the 24th floor to the lobby. For short floor access, take the stairs.||||Overall, this is a nice hotel. Access off of the interstate (I-670) is...
