This restaurant bills itself as modern and chic, but gives “pick me girl” vibes. We stayed at the Crowne Plaza, and ate all of our meals here the past two days because of the blizzard that passed through last night and this morning, so I feel I have had ample experiences to provide this review. Pluses? Today (Wednesday) is the Italian buffet and kids eat free. Also, the bartender with the long beard makes a great old fashioned, and is the reason for the five stars for service. Now for the negatives. Everything here is presented in a way that tries too hard to be nouveau. Classics such as Caesar salad, mozzarella sticks, and French onion soup have little twists put on them that do not actually elevate the dishes. Not only that, but there’s no hint on the menu that these little tweaks have been made. The result is something that resembles the classic dish, but tastes “off” for one reason or another. The French onion soup has added ingredients (minced garlic?) and is missing others (the crouton). The Caesar salad is served wedge-style. The mozzarella sticks are served like little disks, but because the cheese is cut flat, when it fries, the cheese becomes hard and chewy rather than melty and squeaky. I won’t rate breakfast service because the wait staff were understaffed due to the storm and the electricity was on the fritz from the storm, but I will say that after our breakfast was brought to us, nobody came to see how our food was (we needed salt and more syrup) for over half an hour, and that was only because I had asked a different employee if they could bring us our check. I will, however, comment on our first night’s dinner service. We ate early, during their dead time (about 4:30pm) because we had been on the road all morning and were hungry. Our waitress took our order, brought our food, asked us how our food was…and then about 10-15 minutes later brought us the check and asked if we needed a to-go container. The problem was that we were still actively eating, had wanted to do dessert, and I would’ve happily sat and had another drink. There was one other person in the restaurant; it’s not like seating was at a premium and they needed us out. Not sure what all of that was about. Ah, and dessert. My recommendation is to not order the peach cobbler. Ours took about 30-40 minutes to come out, and when we got it back up to our room, I had to turn around and go back because it was raw batter under the crust of dough. As in, like soup. The staff said this was a problem they had seen several times the day before and that they thought it had been fixed, but apparently not. The cheesecake was good, but not a replacement that sated our craving for a fruity dessert. All in all, an average place…but they need to stop trying so hard to be avant garde and focus on taste over presentation.

I recently dined at Fyre Modern Grill and had an exceptional experience. Although there was a bit of a wait, the staff seated us pretty quickly and made us feel welcome. From the moment we arrived, the service was outstanding. Our server was friendly, attentive, and provided excellent recommendations. The highlight of the meal was definitely the food. The Brussel Sprouts appetizer was a standout. The sprouts were cooked to perfection, and the combination of flavors was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend it. For my main course, I ordered the German Flat bread, and it was fantastic. The bread was crispy and flavorful, and the toppings were perfectly balanced. The dish was both filling and satisfying. While the seating area didn't provide much privacy, the ambiance was cozy and welcoming. One small drawback was that you could hear conversations from other tables, but it wasn't too distracting. Overall, I highly recommend Fyre Modern Grill. The food is top-notch, the service is impeccable, and the ambiance is perfect for a night out. Don't miss out on the Brussel Sprouts appetizer and the German Flat bread – they're both outstanding!

Our waiter Riley was friendly and attentive really great customer service from him. The food was good. We had the onion staws as an appetizer . They were a bit messy to eat but good. I had the NY strip with sautéed onions, potatoes a roll and broccolini. Brocolini is apparently a hybrid of american and chinese broccoli accordingto google. Its thinner than regular broccoli, the best way I can think to describe the flavor is that it was well a stronger broccoli taste. The steak was cooked medium as requested. It was a bit salty but not not too bad. I'd much rather it be a bit too seasoned than bland! Plus it's a matter of opinion others may not feel it was salty. My boyfriend had the chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, green beans, a roll and added on shrimp. He said it's the best chicken fried steak he's had. I git the salmon bites appetizer to go for my teenager. When I got it home she heated it back up on the stove top and said it was delicious. It is a bit pricey but I would definitely recommend it as a nice date night spot!

Went and got takeout of Sunday night. It was very slow in the restaurant and the food took almost 30 minutes. Which is fine, the bartender told me it would be at least 25 minutes. Food was just ok. Got the breakfast vouchers for Monday morning and the server was incredibly slow. She had 2 tables sat when we sat. They were both waiting on food. Our server didn't greet us for 8 minutes after we sat, the only reason she saw us is because she was bringing out food for another table. We ordered and the food took quite a long time, which I get. She dropped the food and she didn't do a 2 minute check back. Food was ok, not great. She came back to our table when we were almost done eating. We waited for our bill for about 10 more minutes after we were finished and I sent the rest of the party on their way. She dropped off the check, I had my card out but she left it and walked away. I got up and found the nice lady that sat us to run my bill. The table that got their food before us had to go find the server to get their bill as well. I saw the lady from the other table find the server in the hallway after they sat waiting. It's probably a crappy shift to work because I'm sure people don't tip on the food they already paid for with the voucher but the server was incredibly slow. All the tables had kids and only have so much time before kids start getting antsy and you have to go. This is a water park hotel so I'm sure a majority of people staying are families with children. We had dinner reservations for the evening but I cancelled them because of the service we got at breakfast. Went to a different restaurant and it was great. We won't be returning to the restaurant when we stay at the Crowne again. I also noticed that all most the entire parking lot by the entrance of the hotel is reserved for the restaurant. Why would hotel guests be forced to park across the parking lot for an empty parking lot for an...
